Cybersecurity has in recent years emerged as a paramount concern in the design and operation of industrial systems and civil infrastructures, due mainly to their susceptibility to malicious cyber attacks which take advantage of the vulnerability of communication networks and IT devices. In this paper, we investigate such an attack and counter attack scenario by considering multiagent systems, a somewhat basic prototype of cyberphysical systems. We study false data injection attacks launched on the agent sensors, and possible defense of such attacks at the agent actuators. The primary issue under consideration is the stealthiness of the attacks, while steering a multiagent system away from its consensual state. We propose a metric to quantify the stealthiness, and formulate the stealthiness problem as one of zero-sum games. We solve the problem explicitly, which gives rise to a fundamental bound on the stealthiness achievable, and as well optimal attack and defense strategies that achieve the optimal stealthiness, both of which can be obtained in terms of certain augmented controllability Gramians associated with the agents. The stealthiness bound is seen to depend on agent dynamics and network characteristics including a measure of connectivity.

In this article, the frequency of a Two-Area power system is controlled using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller that is adjusted with optimization algorithms. Classical controllers may not perform optimally under different conditions due to the natural variability of renewable energies and their uncertainties. Multiple algorithms are utilized to enhance the nominal value of the PID controller. parameters in these controllers, including particle swarm optimization (PSO), shuffled frog leaping algorithms (SFLA), and genetic algorithms (GA). By comparing their results, the most efficient method will be determined Using the integral time-absolute error (ITAE) method. MATLAB is employed for simulating the frequency control model of a Two-Area power system. By evaluating the results, it can be seen that strong and appropriate performance, in a wide range of system parameter changes and load changes, can be obtained with the proposed SFLA optimization method in system nonlinearity. Examining the proposed enhanced method in the field of frequency monitoring and control will show a significant improvement compared to the previous algorithms used.

This paper presents a combination of two methods that can be effectively combined for control of electrical machines. The first method enables real-time identification of electrical and mechanical parameters based on differential geometry and geometric algebra. The second method enables robust control of electrical machines, even when the knowledge about parameters is incomplete. In combination, the two methods open a path for successful control of electrical machines with unknown and/or time varying parameters. © 2022 IEEE.

Collaboration of agents in a natural swarm enables the accomplishment of tasks that would be difficult or impossible for a single agent to complete alone. For example, a swarm of autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) enables the collaborative sensing of bulky loads for transportation over impassable terrains when the load weighs several times more than each UAV. In this work, we propose a hierarchical algorithmic architecture that supports the search and coverage of various unknown payload profiles for subsequent transportation. The grasping formation of UAVs over the payload emerges from the synthetic behaviours in the architecture without any path planning. Experiments show that our proposed design can be successfully applied in searching and coverage of various loads and has been validated in the real world through the use of Crazyflie micro-UAVs. Furthermore, the proposed grasping formation satisfies static equilibrium thereby reducing orientation changes in the load-swarm system during transportation.

An advantage of bio-inspired robots is the versatility of their locomotion on a wide range of terrains that conventional robots are not able to traverse. The snake-like robot, which is a mechanism designed to move in the manner of a biological snake, is an example of a bio-inspired platform. This paper aims to implement and validate, using real and simulation tests on flat terrain, a snake-like endoskeleton robot that permits serpentine movement with adaptive control capabilities. The prototype mechatronic robot was comprised of eleven segments that were 3D printed sequentially. A simulation using Matlab’s Multibody Mechanics tool determines the necessary torques for each motor. In this simulation, a parameterized virtual model of the robot is created, where rectilinear gaits are programmed. In accordance with simulation and experimental results, the robot undertakes different times to reach the goal trajectory or end points depending on the frequency, angular position, and wave length (duty cycle). As a result, there is a high degree of similarity between the simulation tests and those conducted with the prototype endoskeleton. Furthermore, the robot is equipped with machine vision capabilities that allow it to detect faults within oil and gas pipes for the purpose of inspection and maintenance. Furthermore, a Model Reference Adaptive control (MRAC) method based on Lyapunov stability analysis and MIT rules is proposed. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulation show that the designed trajectory tracking control law can make the multi-joint snake-like robot track the trajectory of the front joint when the robot encounters disturbances and stabilize the angular position and velocity of the first two head joints when disturbances occur.

This paper, investigates the consequences of Non-Participation Penalty (NPP) imposed on large industries in Iran for their non-compliance with renewable energy usage. The study presents ten distinct configurations of a hybrid system incorporating grid, wind turbines (WTs), photovoltaic (PV), and diesel generator. HOMER Pro software was used to evaluate scenarios based on real data from a large industrial plant, analyzing the impact of variables on economic parameters, with a particular focus on NPC. According to the results, the integration of diesel generators in WT and PV combinations leads to reductions in both Net Present Cost (NPC) and Cost of Energy (COE) within the hybrid systems and using renewable energy is more cost-effective than accepting the fine and using only the grid until electricity prices increase by $5 \%$ annually. Also, its NPC is at least 4.62${\$}$ less.

Recently, there has been significant attention directed towards renewable energy sources, driven by advancements in power electronics, cost reductions, and escalating environmental concerns. The utilization of entirely renewable sources for fulfilling energy requirements presents advantages such as reduced energy costs, sustainable expenses, and local accessibility. This research assesses various scenarios encompassing diverse configurations to minimize greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, cost of energy (COE), and annual net present costs (NPC). The evaluation considers factors like investment, replacement, decommissioning, operation, and maintenance costs. The study conducts an optimal power planning and techno-economic-environmental analysis of a grid-connected hybrid renewable energy system, incorporating elements such as wind turbines (WT), photovoltaic systems (PVs), diesel generators (DG), boilers, converters, thermal load controllers (TLC), and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The system is designed to cater to both electrical and thermal loads concurrently. The proposed methodology is tested using HOMER software on a small-scale system situated in Manjil, Iran, with a focus on its efficacy in meeting economic and sustainable electrical and thermal requirements within a hybrid renewable energy framework.

Residential microgrids consist of consumers and prosumers. In this microgrid consumers tend to reduce their energy costs. However, in microgrid that incorporates peer-to-peer capabilities, prosumers could have different objectives. In this way, prosumers can also increase their energy sales to consumers in addition to reducing their energy costs. Therefore, in the presented approach prosumers predetermined their energy sales to reduce their cost or increase their energy sales to the consumers. In this study, a hierarchical approach is presented to consider the energy transaction and prosumers’ objectives. Initially, the self-scheduling of prosumers to determined their transacted energy is presented. Subsequently, through the consideration of energy sharing, the maximization of societal welfare is pursued. Moreover, the sensitivity analysis is utilized to evaluate the effect of load and photovoltaic panel output power uncertainties on the obtained results. The proposed method is investigated in a test residential microgrid with 40 units, which includes 20 prosumers and 20 consumers. The simulation is conducted utilizing Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) within the GAMS, employing the CPLEX solver. According to the obtained results, by changing the load and output power of PVs, the benefit earned by prosumers changes. However, prosumers intending to reduce their costs have earned greater benefits than those aiming to increase their energy sales.
