To assess the electromagnetic susceptibility of railway signal systems subjected to lightning transient electromagnetic disturbance, a set of authentic experimental platform was designed and constructed in a laboratory setting, utilizing the railway transponder transmission system as the test subject. This experimental platform assesses the electromagnetic susceptibility of the railway transponder transmission system under varying lightning surge voltages. The results indicate that the system demonstrates varying response patterns at different degrees of electromagnetic disturbance, including normal operation, the emergence of erroneous codes with self-recovery, and the emergence of erroneous codes with requiring a restart of the equipment to return to normal operation. A set of improved support vector machine models is created and trained using the experimental dataset to evaluate the probability of telegram signal errors caused by lightning transient electromagnetic disturbance in railway transponder transmission system. The test results of the model indicated that the prediction accuracy could reach 93.79%. Finally, this paper gives a revised evaluation method under the condition of low dimensionality of features. © 2024 IEEE.

Under the background of high development cost and limited application scale of hydrogen energy, the multi-stack fuel cell system(MFCS) is regarded as the potential application. Firstly, considering the different performances of fuel cells in the MFCS, a new optimal power distribution strategy is proposed to achieve the best real-time operation efficiency of the whole MFCS based on Leader-Follower consistency algorithm. The optimized objective function is the overall operation efficiency of the whole system. The equivalent constraint of the total output power of MFCS and the inequality constraint of output power restriction of single-stack fuel cell should be satisfied during the iterative process. The power reference of each single-stack fuel cell is obtained when the consistency variable of incremental hydrogen consumption achieves the same. Secondly, a new power reference setting mode of DC/DC converter is designed to avoid the oxygen hunger of stack due to the dynamic response difference between the gas supply system and DC/DC converter during the process of increasing output power. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified in the Matlab-Simulink. © 2023 IEEE.

Multiphase permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machine features the advantages of high reliability and high fault-tolerant capability, which has great potential in the fields like aviation servo and electric vehicles. In order to meet the design criteria of low moment of inertia and high post-fault torque performance, three different rotor structures are analyzed and compared for a low-inertia fault-tolerant permanent magnet synchronous machine(SLIFT-PMSM) by finite-element method. The influence of winding structure on torque performance is investigated, and the winding structure is optimized to improve the post-fault torque performance. The electromagnetic performance of the improved scheme is evaluated under both the normal and fault conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

In modern aircraft, the deployment and retraction of thrust reverser cowls are facilitated by multiple linear actuators operating in concert. This configuration, while effective, introduces synchronization challenges due to the simultaneous action of the actuators. To address this issue, flexible steel shafts are incorporated to interconnect the actuators, and a closed-loop control system is implemented to manage their operation. The inherent low stiffness non-linearity of the flexible shafts, combined with the system's multiple inertias, significantly increases the susceptibility of motor speed and load speed to resonance. This paper introduces a prototypical transmission system to elucidate these dynamics. It constructs a dual-inertia servo system model, investigates the principal factors contributing to system resonance, and extends this to a more comprehensive three-inertia model. Through rigorous simulation experiments, the paper validates the developed model, thereby laying a theoretical foundation for the design of more robust control strategies. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Trace hydrogen sulphide(H_(2)S)could reflect the severity of insulation faults in gas-insulated switchgear(GIS),therefore,accurate and fast detection of low-concentration H_(2)S is important for on-line monitoring,fault diagnosis,and state evaluation in ***-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) chemiresistive-type sensors were fabricated via drop-coating with self-reduction synthesised Ag-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x).The as-prepared sensors exhibited an excel-lent sensitivity and selectivity to H_(2)S with an extremely low detection of limit of 18.57 parts per billion(ppb)at 25℃(room temperature).The response of Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sensor to 10 parts per million(ppm)H_(2)S was enhanced~12 times than that of the pristine Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) *** compositing of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) with Ag nanoparticles(NPs)enabled the fast response/recovery time for H_(2)S *** analysis found that the enhanced H_(2)S sensing performances could be attributed to chemical sensitisation,adsorbed oxygen species regulation and high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)surface *** study paves the way for Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) as room-temperature sensing materials to detect low-concentration H_(2)S in GIS.

This study presents an H∞ fault-tolerant fuzzy intermittent control approach for the nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equation (PDE) systems with multiple delays and actuator failures (MDAFs). Firstly, the nonlinear hyperbolic PDE systems with MDAFs are characterized by the Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy delayed hyperbolic PDE model. Next, by employing the Lyapunov direct method, this paper demonstrates the robust exponential stability using spatial linear matrix inequalities (SLMIs) based on a new switching Lyapunov functional (LF). Furthermore, the H∞ fault-tolerant fuzzy intermittent control issue for nonlinear hyperbolic PDE systems with MDAFs is transformed into the LMI feasibility problem to deal with the SLMIs. Lastly, the feasibility of the constructed control strategy is demonstrated by two illustrative examples. © 2024 International Society of automation

Bilateral teleoperation system is referred to as a promising technology to extend human actions and intelligence to manipulating objects *** the tracking control of teleoperation systems,velocity measurements are necessary to provide feedback ***,due to hardware technology and cost constraints,the velocity measurements are not always *** addition,the time-varying communication delay makes it challenging to achieve tracking *** paper provides a solution to the issue of real-time tracking for teleoperation systems,subjected to unavailable velocity signals and time-varying communication *** order to estimate the velocity information,immersion and invariance(I&I)technique is employed to develop an exponential stability velocity *** the proposed velocity observer,a linear relationship between position and observation state is constructed,through which the need of solving partial differential and certain integral equations can be ***,the mean value theorem is exploited to separate the observation error terms,and hence,all functions in our observer can be analytically *** the estimated velocity information,a slave-torque feedback control law is presented.A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed to establish asymptotic tracking *** particular,the relationship between the controller design parameters and the allowable maximum delay values is ***,simulation and experimental results reveal that the proposed velocity observer and controller can guarantee that the observation errors and tracking error converge to zero.

Swarm-Based Dynamic Coverage of Multi-ASV systems in the Presence of Measurement Noises

This paper is concerned with the dynamic coverage of multiple autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) in the presence of static and dynamic obstacles, limited communication distance, and measurement noises. A modular control method including planning, guidance, and control is proposed. At the planning level, a swarm-based dynamic coverage strategy is developed to achieve the coverage of a given domain. Both the collision avoidance and connectivity preservation issues are solved by using artificial potential fields. At the kinematic level, novel adaptive line-of-sight guidance laws are presented based on cascade extended state observers (CESOs), such that accurate guidance signals are given by compensating for time-varying sideslip angle and suppressing measurement noises. At the kinetic level, two CESOs are developed to estimate the internal model uncertainties and external environmental disturbance, and antidisturbance kinetic control laws are designed subsequently. The proposed CESOs overcome the noises sensitivity problem of classical observers, and thus facilitate the practical implementation under measurement noises. The input-to-state stability of the closed-loop system is confirmed by the Lyapunov theory and cascade stability theory. Simulation and hardware-in-the-loop experiment results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed swarm-based dynamic coverage method. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Space probe is one of the important areas for commercial space industry. In order to make the ion propulsion system have good control performance under the regulation of wide voltage and wide power, a nonlinear controller with adjustable multi-operating points is designed based on the synergetic approach to control (SAC) theory. The duty cycle of DC/DC converter can be calculated by combining the state space equation of DC/DC converter and the evolution law of manifold. In order to ensure that the overshoot of inductor current is small and the response speed is fast when the operating point is switched, according to the convergence characteristics of manifold, the adaptive control parameter is designed based on capacitor voltage error. According to the simulation results, the steady-state error of bus voltage under SAC control is 3.3%, which is less than 6% of PI control. For the transient process of switching, the overshoot of capacitor voltage and inductor current under PI control are close to 30%, much larger than that under SAC control, and the duty cycle under PI control also shows a large oscillation. SAC control has advantages over PI control in terms of steady-state performance, dynamic performance and duty cycle control. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Sign language plays an important role in information transmission and emotional communication between the hearing-impaired and the outside world. It is expressed through a rapid and complex combination of gestures, body postures and facial expressions. In this paper, Google's MediaPipe framework is used to extract and process key point information of hands. Depth features are used to supplement the RBG diagram. A framework of skeleton sensing multi-modal recognition suitable for complex scenes is proposed. This can be used to deal with the problem of sign language recognition of multi-modal information in different scenes. However, most of the existing sign language recognition methods are traditional convolutional networks and LSTM. Although they have excellent achievements in image recognition and video recognition, their application in sign language recognition does not conform to the characteristics of sign language. In this paper, a Swin Transformer model is used to process both depth information and RGB information. Finally, statistical data fusion method was used to fuse the depth prediction results with RGB prediction results. Experimental analysis shows that this method performs well in sign language recognition in complex scenes compared with existing methods. © 2023 IEEE.
