Rapid stabilization of stochastic quantum systems in a unified framework

Rapid stabilization of general stochastic quantum systems is investigated based on the rapid stability of stochastic differential *** introduce a Lyapunov-LaSalle-like theorem for a class of nonlinear stochastic systems first,based on which a unified framework of rapidly stabilizing stochastic quantum systems is *** to the proposed unified framework,we design the switching state feedback controls to achieve the rapid stabilization of singlequbit systems,two-qubit systems,and N-qubit *** the unified framework,the state space is divided into two state subspaces,and the target state is located in one state subspace,while the other system equilibria are located in the other state *** the designed state feedback controls,the system state can only transit through the boundary between the two state subspaces no more than two times,and the target state is globally asymptotically stable in *** particular,the system state can converge exponentially in(all or part of)the state subspace where the target state is ***,the effectiveness and rapidity of the designed state feedback controls are shown in numerical simulations by stabilizing GHZ states for a three-qubit system.

This paper presents the (Formula presented.) State-Feedback control for Continuous Semi-Markov Jump Linear Systems where the transition rates are given by the ratio of polynomials of the sojourn time. We show that, for instance, Rayleigh-, Erlang- and a class of Weibull-distributed sojourn time can be described by such a model. We present general results on the stability and on the (Formula presented.) of Semi-Markov Jump Linear Systems and provide sum-of-squares conditions for norm calculation and state-feedback control design problems. We conclude the paper by presenting two numerical examples that point out the main features of our results and by discussing future directions and related problems. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Cyber-physical systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles and connected and autonomous vehicles, are vulnerable to cyber attacks, which can cause significant damage to society. This paper examines the attack issue in cyber-physical systems within the framework of discrete event systems. Specifically, we consider a scenario where a malicious intruder injects a jamming signal into an actuator channel. It disrupts the transmission of control commands and prevents an actuator from receiving them. This is termed an actuator jamming attack. In the paper, we first analyze the closed-loop system behavior under such an attack. An attack structure is constructed to illustrate how an intruder exploits a jamming attack to drive a system into unsafe states. Then, we study the supervisory control problem for a system exposed to such an attack. The problem is reduced to a basic supervisory control one in discrete event systems by introducing the concept of dynamically controllable language. A solution to this problem is explored, where we establish an existence condition for a supremal and robust supervisor that is capable of defending against actuator jamming attacks, and design an algorithm to derive it. Finally, the effectiveness of our method is illustrated by an intelligent automated guided vehicle system. IEEE

The capability of shifting the electricity generation or consumption to proper time of the day,also defined as energy shift(ES),is the key factor to ensure the power balance,especially under high penetration of variable renewable energy(VRE).However,the ES is not characterized and traded as an independent product in current market *** this letter,the marginal utility of an ES is assessed and leveraged to characterize the effective ES,while a novel market scheme is proposed considering the trading of both ES and energy level(EL).The proposed scheme can well integrate ES producers such as virtual power plants that cannot be rewarded sufficiently to actively participate in the current market because they are principally labeled as EL ***,the novel concept and mechanism are illustrated by a numerical study and verified to outperform the existing price schemes on integrating the ES resources and VRE.

We introduce a novel differentially private algorithm for online federated learning that employs temporally correlated noise to enhance utility while ensuring privacy of continuously released models. To address challenges posed by DP noise and local updates with streaming non-iid data, we develop a perturbed iterate analysis to control the impact of the DP noise on the utility. Moreover, we demonstrate how the drift errors from local updates can be effectively managed under a quasi-strong convexity condition. Subject to an (, δ) DP budget, we establish a dynamic regret bound over the entire time horizon, quantifying the impact of key parameters and the intensity of changes in dynamic environments. Numerical experiments confirm the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

One-Sided Lipschitz (OSL) fractional order modeling is a top choice for solving the stabilization issue of nonlinear systems. Despite numerous studies on the subject, there remains a gap in understanding when it comes to fractional calculus. By providing a stabilizing strategy for a certain type of OSL fractional order nonlinear systems, this study fills the gap. A numerical example demonstrating the correctness of the suggested approach and demonstrating its efficacy for the tested class. © 2023 IEEE.

Fault diagnosis in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is important to protect communities and ecosystems from toxic elements discharged into water. In this sense, fault identification of sensors plays an important role as they are the key components of the water plants control, especially because environmental legislation is very strict when referring to failures or anomalies in WWTPs. This paper analyzes the performances of two Deep Learning models, a Feedforward Neural Network (FFNN) and a 1D Convolution Neural Network (1DCNN) for identifying five operating states of the dissolved oxygen (DO) sensor: normal and faulty (bias, stuck, spike and precision degradation faults). The experiments were conducted on the Benchmark Simulator Model No 2 (BSM2) developed by the IWA Task Group. The performance of the Deep Learning (DL) classifiers was evaluated via accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The best overall classification accuracy was obtained by FFNN, 98.32% for training and 98.30% for testing. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to the development of hacking programs, it has become easy to penetrate systems. Hence, there is a need for strong security mechanisms. The use of traditional passwords has become insufficient to secure systems. Biometric authentication is now widely used for security applications, and it has proven to be superior compared to traditional authentication methods. However, two issues need to be considered in biometric systems. The first is not to keep biometric data in its original form in the database. If biometric traits are hacked, they will no longer be of use. Biometric data should be kept in cancelable forms for reuse. The second issue is the reliance on a single biometric, which limits the verification accuracy. This can be solved by using a multimodal biometric system. Using steganography and cryptography, this paper introduces a cancelable multimodal biometric system. As voiceprints, facial images, and fingerprint images are used. In this paper, the verification is performed through the Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) of the voiceprints. Steganography is used as a tool to secure features extracted from voiceprints by embedding them into the facial image using block-based singular value decomposition (BSVD). Double random phase encoding (DRPE) is utilized as an encryption algorithm to generate the final cancelable templates. To increase the level of system security, fingerprint images are used as random phase masks (RPMs). Verification is performed by estimating the correlation between registered and test MFCCs. The correlation value is then compared with a threshold value, which is calculated using the distribution curves for the genuine and imposter correlations. Equal error rate (EER) values close to zero and an area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AROC) that is close to one are obtained from the simulation results, demonstrating the outstanding performance of the suggested system. Solar energy is a clean and simple method of electricity generation. This electricity is utilized for various purposes, ranging from modest electrical gadgets and cars to major enterprises, satellites, and space exploration. The title of this project, "Solar tracking system with light-dependent resistors and a stepper motor controlled by a microcontroller"alludes to the project's purpose, which is to harvest as much solar energy as possible from a solar panel throughout the day using a specific Sun tracking mechanism. To do this, a mechanism was developed that tracks the sun's position and rotates the solar panel correspondingly so that it receives maximum sunlight at all times of the day. This is accomplished by mounting a stepper motor and a couple of light-dependent resistors (LDRs) on the solar panel, which adjusts its orientation based on the location of the sun. This project has three primary components: the solar panel, the stepper motor, and the LDRs. Microcontroller, sensor, and stepper motor. For this aim, an Arduino UNO microcontroller has been utilized. It accepts an output signal from a sensor as input, processes it, and controls stepper motors based on the supplied program. A stepper motor is attached to the shaft on which a panel is positioned to raise and lower the panel. Since maximal solar rays always strike the surface of the solar panel module, it is possible to obtain maximum power output, increasing its total efficiency as compared to the static panel. © 2023 IEEE.
