Effects of different scattering components in speckle autocorrelation imaging

Various methods of imaging through scattering media suffer a rapid degradation in image quality as medium thickness increases. To address this issue, based on speckle autocorrelation imaging we designed a double-layer diffuser experiment to study the effects of different scattering components on imaging. The results show that both singly scattered light and doubly scattered light can transmit information. However, the difference in memory effect range leads to diverse abilities in information extraction, thereby affecting image recovery. This study may provide insights into the mechanisms of information transmission within thick scattering media and methods to extract information from multiply scattered light to reconstruct images. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. computer-aided skin lesion segmentation with high precision is crucial to diagnose skin cancers in the early stage. However, the lack of pixel-level labels makes the skin lesion segmentation tasks challenging. To tackle this problem, a new weakly-supervised skin lesion segmentation network with self-attentions named SLSNet is proposed. SLSNet contains two modules and uses image-level labels as supervision information. One module named Intra-image Self-attention Seed Expansion (ISE) digs intra-image self-attentions with an expansion loss and a confidence loss to expand seed areas. The other module named Inter-image Affinity-based Noise Suppression (IAS) suppresses the noise pixels in attention maps via inter-image correlations. Extensive experiments conducted on ISIC-2017 dataset show that SLSNet achieves relatively high performance while reducing human labeling efforts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

The advent of Programmable Wireless Environments (PWEs) has transformed the wireless propagation phenomenon into a software-defined resource, leveraging Software-defined metasurfaces (SDMs). These new technologies have shown that wireless waves can be routed within a space, contrary to the regular, chaotic wireless propagation, yielding considerable benefits to communication efficiency, and even completely new applications. A new topic has risen, in the context of modeling these capabilities as network resources, and allocating them to users. In this context, the present paper contributes HERA, a heuristic resource allocator that receives a setup with users and SDMs as input, and produces the necessary configuration of the latter, for efficient shared performance. Simulation results demonstrate considerable efficiency in this task, while the heuristic nature of HERA sets the basis for a flexible definition of complex user objectives in the future. © 2024 IEEE.

Magnetic skyrmions are topological quasiparticles with nanoscale size and high mobility,which have potential applications in information storage and spintronic *** manipulation of skyrmion’s dynamics in the track is an important topic due to the skyrmion Hall effect,which can deviate the skyrmions from the preferred *** propose a new model based on the ferromagnetic skyrmion,where the skyrmion velocity can be well controlled by adjusting the direction of the *** this design,we can avoid the annihilation of the skyrmion induced by the skyrmion Hall effect,which is confirmed by our micromagnetic simulation based on Mumax^(3).In the meantime,we increase the average velocity of the skyrmion by varying the intrinsic material parameters in the track,where the simulations agree well with our analytical results based on the Thiele ***,we give a phase diagram of the output of the skyrmion in the T-type track,which provides some practical ways for design of logic gates by manipulating crystalline anisotropy through the electrical control.

Since the discovery of graphene, 2D materials are establishing a rapidly growing and promising field, with great potential for diverse applications given their excellent conductivity and high transparency. In particular, graphene can isolate external chemical reactions when applied to back-end-of-line (BEOL) interconnect metals, thereby preventing the oxidation of the interconnect metals. In addition, it can improve the conductivity and breakdown current density of interconnects. However, the thermal budget remains an important problem in BEOL interconnects. We demonstrate an advanced graphene deposition method using an in-house plasma plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition system, which offers low thermal budget and high stability. We also optimize carbon precursors to improve the quality of graphene on Ru and Co thin films. We show the improvement of electrical conductivity, electromigration lifetime, and maximum breakdown current density after capping Ru and Co interconnects with graphene. The electromigration lifetimes of the Ru and Co interconnects increase by 4 and 4.5 times, respectively, and their maximum breakdown current density increases by 17.6 and 10.6%, respectively. The results show that capping with graphene has a high potential in BEOL applications. © 2023 American Chemical Society.

A promising 5G communications technology was already known as CR-Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (CR- NOMA). Power allocation (PA) and user pairing both affect how well NOMA systems perform. For the PA problem, the majority of recent studies offer suboptimal solutions with high computing complexity that prioritize rate maximization over performance fairness. Furthermore, a thorough search is required for the combined optimization of PA and UP. The primary contribution of this paper is the suggestion of a brand-new, minimally difficult Maximization optimization Data rate based power allocation (MODRFPA) in downlink CR-NOMA. The combined effects of SNR per subcarrier and typically combined channel gains have been thoroughly analyzed and investigated. Users' feedback on NOMA's performance in terms of user fairness and capacity is demonstrated. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate that the suggested MODRPA can enhance the fairness and data rate of current UP techniques. Additionally, simulation findings demonstrate that the proposed coefficient power performs schemes more effectively and offers performance that is close to ideal. © 2023 IEEE.

This study presents an Epsilon Mu near-zero(EMNZ)nanostructured metamaterial absorber(NMMA)for visible regime *** resonator and dielectric layers are made of tungsten(W)and quartz(fused),where the working band is expanded by changing the resonator layer’s *** to perfect impedance matching with plasmonic resonance characteristics,the proposed NMMA structure is achieved an excellent absorption of 99.99%at 571 THz,99.50%at 488.26 THz,and 99.32%at 598 THz *** absorption mechanism is demonstrated by the theory of impedance,electric field,and power loss density distributions,*** geometric parameters are explored and analyzed to show the structure’s performance,and a near-field pattern is used to explain the absorption mechanism at the resonance frequency *** numerical analysis method describes that the proposed structure exhibited more than 80%absorbability between 550 and 900 *** computer Simulation technology(CST Microwave Studio 2019)software is used to design the proposed ***,CSTHFSS interference is validated by the simulation data with the help of the finite element method(FEM).The proposed NMMA structure is also exhibits glucose concentration sensing capability as *** the proposed broadband absorber may have a potential application in THz sensing,imaging(MRI,thermal,color),solar energy harvesting,light modulators,and optoelectronic devices.

In recent years, swarm intelligence-based metaheuristics are extensively explored for optimizing challenging and stiff nonlinear problems. This research explores the identification of the input nonlinear output error (NOE) model through a swarm intelligence-based metaheuristic called dwarf mongoose optimization algorithm (DMOA). Further, the key term separation method (KTSM) based identification model is presented to address the issue of over-parameterization. The DMOA performance is deeply examined for various generations, population sizes, and signal-to-noise ratios. This study presents an autoencoder-embedded optimization(AEO)algorithm which involves a bi-population cooperative strategy for medium-scale expensive problems(MEPs).A huge search space can be compressed to an informative lowdimensional space by using an autoencoder as a dimension reduction *** search operation conducted in this low space facilitates the population with fast convergence towards the *** strike the balance between exploration and exploitation during optimization,two phases of a tailored teaching-learning-based optimization(TTLBO)are adopted to coevolve solutions in a distributed fashion,wherein one is assisted by an autoencoder and the other undergoes a regular evolutionary ***,a dynamic size adjustment scheme according to problem dimension and evolutionary progress is proposed to promote information exchange between these two phases and accelerate evolutionary convergence *** proposed algorithm is validated by testing benchmark functions with dimensions varying from 50 to *** indicated in our experiments,TTLBO is suitable for dealing with medium-scale problems and thus incorporated into the AEO framework as a base *** with the state-of-the-art algorithms for MEPs,AEO shows extraordinarily high efficiency for these challenging problems,t hus opening new directions for various evolutionary algorithms under AEO to tackle MEPs and greatly advancing the field of medium-scale computationally expensive optimization.
