Modified Kelvin-Voigt fractional derivative model for viscoelasticity measurement in optical coherence elastography

optical coherence elastography(OCE)can quantitatively obtain the viscoelasticity of tissues using rheological models and is widely applied to the clinical diagnosis of ***,commonly used rheological models in OCE do not account for the distinctive dependence of high-frequency storage and loss moduli on frequency in tissues,which results in the rheological models failing to accurately measure the viscoelastic properties of *** this paper,a modified Kelvin-Voigt fractional derivative model is presented based on the power-law behavior of soft tissues and the dependence of high-frequency complex shear modulus on frequency in living *** the rheometer and OCE tests,the modified model can provide the prediction of the power-law relationship between the low-frequency shear viscosity and frequency;compared with the Kelvin-Voigt and Kelvin-Voigt fractional derivative models,the modified model has a higher goodness-of-fit(accuracy>96%)for the high-frequency storage moduli of gelatin ***,the proposed model can reduce the root mean square error of fit by approximately 83%for the high-frequency(1–128 kHz)storage modulus of the polydimethylsiloxane phantoms obtained from publicly available ***,the modified model accurately predicts the mechanical properties of biomimetic materials over a wide frequency range,with the potential to more accurately reflect pathological changes in tissues.

In the long history of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),meridians play essential roles as the critical network to regulate the normal physiological functions of the human *** are regarded to be the channels connecting the internal organs with the body surface and various parts of the *** there are many studies and doctrines trying to reveal the nature of meridians for their validation in TCM,the mechanism underlying the meridians remains ***,based on our macroscopic quantum state concept of ion channels(i.e.,sub-nanometer scale channels),we propose a quantum principle of *** acupoints and organ symptom are in a macroscopic coherence state of the ion channels in *** applying TCM treatments(e.g.,TCM massage,acupuncture,moxibustion,and electroacupuncture)on the acupoint,the corresponding organ symptom could be well regulated with help of quantum meridian state.

Consumption of green energy in residential communities is increasing compared to conventional supply. However, the variability in generation due to different weather parameters is a significant challenge to their growth rate. Energy storage has the potential to address this issue, and sharing economy-based cloud energy storage (CES) has gained popularity as a way to reduce energy consumption costs and increase revenue. This study analyzes the deployment of CES infrastructure operation in seven residential smart homes community. All seven homes utilized CES services based on their daily net load demand. In the first phase, the PSO algorithm optimized the load trajectory, taking into account all smart home parameters and physical components. Subsequently, the operational cost of CES in the community is evaluated in scenarios with and without home energy management systems. Simulation results indicated that the energy consumption cost of the residential community from the grid is zero, and revenue is 43.59% higher when home energy management systems are employed. The modeled home parameters significantly affected total community energy costs. © 2023 IEEE.

This study examines the growing number of satellites, this paper explores the importance of satellite tracking and highlights NOAA-15 for information transmission and weather monitoring. It offers a low-cost configuration for receiving circularly polarized signals, using a Software Defined Radio (SDR) at 137.62 MHz and a V-dipole antenna. The directional characteristics of the V-dipole maximize capture efficiency by improving signal reception during particular satellite orbits. The flexible SDR, in particular the RTL SDR USB dongle, is used to detail signal decoding for Automatic Picture Transmission (APT), allowing for effective processing and tracking. High-quality APT photos are produced by this hardware-software integration, highlighting NOAA's crucial role in international weather forecasting. The study also emphasizes how simple and inexpensive it is to use the V-dipole antenna to receive NOAA weather satellite signals. © 2024 IEEE.

In the modern era of rapidly advancing technology, organizations across various sectors are continuously seeking innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve overall productivity. One area that significantly impacts these goals is the management of employee/student attendance. Traditional manual attendance tracking methods often lead to inaccuracies, inefficiencies, and increased administrative overhead. Recognizing this challenge, this proposal is to bring forth developing a microcontroller-based implementation of a Fingerprint-Based Attendance System. The system uses the power of biometric authentication to improve how attendance is recorded and managed. Firstly, this system provides real-time attendance tracking, reducing the delay in data processing and enabling immediate access to attendance records. Secondly, the proposed system ensures a high level of accuracy in attendance recording. Thirdly, this system promotes enhanced security. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years,deep learning has been the mainstream technology for fingerprint liveness detection(FLD)tasks because of its remarkable ***,recent studies have shown that these deep fake fingerprint detection(DFFD)models are not resistant to attacks by adversarial examples,which are generated by the introduction of subtle perturbations in the fingerprint image,allowing the model to make fake *** of the existing adversarial example generation methods are based on gradient optimization,which is easy to fall into local optimal,resulting in poor transferability of adversarial *** addition,the perturbation added to the blank area of the fingerprint image is easily perceived by the human eye,leading to poor visual *** response to the above challenges,this paper proposes a novel adversarial attack method based on local adaptive gradient variance for *** ridge texture area within the fingerprint image has been identified and designated as the region for perturbation ***,the images are fed into the targeted white-box model,and the gradient direction is optimized to compute gradient ***,an adaptive parameter search method is proposed using stochastic gradient ascent to explore the parameter values during adversarial example generation,aiming to maximize adversarial attack *** results on two publicly available fingerprint datasets show that ourmethod achieves higher attack transferability and robustness than existing methods,and the perturbation is harder to perceive.

With fast developments of computational power and algorithms, deep learning has made breakthroughs and been applied in many fields. However, generalization remains to be a major challenge, and the limited generalization capability severely constrains applications of deep learning in practice. The hallucinations issue is another unresolved conundrum faced by deep learning and large models. By leveraging a physical model of imaging through scattering media, we studied the lack of generalization to datasets and system response functions in deep learning respectively, identified their causes, and proposed universal solutions. The research also provides an explanation for hallucinations. In general, it enhances the interpretability of deep learning from a physics-based perspective. It will pave a way for direct interaction between deep learning and the physical world, facilitating the transition of deep learning from a demo model to a practical tool. © 2025 SPIE.

The electronics panels and controllers used in electric vehicle (EV) charging stations need to function securely and optimally in countries such as India, where the external temperature remains high for a significant part of the year. This study is the first to use a solar-battery storage integrated switchable glazing architecture to supply HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) in the control rooms of electric vehicle charging stations throughout the day. The EV charging station has been equipped with a rooftop-mounted solar PV source as part of an initiative to promote renewable energy and sustainable forms of mobility. The utilization of a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) by the system ensures energy security through the provision of a durable solution for storing energy over an extended period of time. A smart scheduling system utilizing IoT technology was demonstrated to effectively meet the glazing load need of buildings in real-time, taking into account dynamic climatic conditions. This system incorporates solar PV, VRFB storage, and the neighborhood power grid. The efficiency of the suggested method was validated using four separate transitory scenarios: sunny, intermittently cloudy, prolongedly cloudy, and low solar radiation with frequent grid outages. Due to its versatility to be applied in various situations, the suggested method has the potential to greatly enhance capacity. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). Exceptional point (EP) is a special degeneracy of non-Hermitian systems. One-dimensional transmission systems operating at EPs are widely studied and applied to chiral conversion and sensing. Lately, two-dimensional systems at EPs have been exploited for their exotic scattering features, yet so far been limited to only the non-visible waveband. Here, we report a universal paradigm for achieving a high-efficiency EP in the visible by leveraging interlayer loss to accurately control the interplay between the lossy structure and scattering lightwaves. A bilayer framework is demonstrated to reflect back the incident light from the left side ( | r_(−1) | >0.999) and absorb the incident light from the right side ( | r_(+1) | < 10^(–4)). As a proof of concept, a bilayer metasurface is demonstrated to reflect and absorb the incident light with experimental efficiencies of 88% and 85%, respectively, at 532 nm. Our results open the way for a new class of nanoscale devices and power up new opportunities for EP physics.
