In this study, we focus on examining the stability of Al-based inorganic-organic hybrid thin films deposited through the molecular atomic layer deposition (MALD) process in ambient environment. Our observations reveal an initial reduction in material thickness within the first 3 days, followed by a period of stability. XPS analysis is employed to further investigate the chemical alternations in the aged Al-based hybrid thin films, revealing an increase in C=O species as well as overall oxygen content in the material. We also evaluate the effects of atmospheric exposure on the sensitivity of the Al-based hybrid thin films using electron flood exposure. This study aims to enhance the understanding of the stability of a vapor-phase synthesized hybrid thin film system for advanced resist applications. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (in short, UAVs, aka drones) for cultural and entertainment purposes, such as drone light shows, has grown exponentially. One such innovative and creative application is the visual arts using drones to explore long-exposure photography. Light painting are generally performed indoors and outdoors in a dedicated space with a human using a moving light source to create spectacular images and save the movement perception in a picture. In this work, we propose a robotic perception system designed to choreograph UAV movements based on time-parametric curves or image edges, serving as reference motions. Our framework begins by processing a digital image, extracting its contours through boundary tracing, and subsequently generating a safe, navigable, and precise path for UAV motion planning. This process involves optimizing waypoints within the UAV workspace to determine a feasible trajectory that encompasses all designated points or computes safe trajectories utilizing established mathematical equations. The validation of the motion planning is performed through light painting, where the UAV can either fly through the motion reference to mimic the original image. The generated trajectories on light painting mode by physical robots are compared against the ground-truth demonstrating the accuracy of the applied control scheme.

The exact 3D dynamics of the human body provides crucial evidence to analyze the consequences of the physical interaction between the body and the environment, which can eventually assist everyday activities in a wide range of applications. However, optimizing for 3D configurations from image observation requires a significant amount of computation, whereas real-world 3D measurements often suffer from noisy observation or complex occlusion. We resolve the challenge by learning a latent distribution representing strong temporal priors. We use a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE) architecture with a transformer to train the motion priors with a large-scale motion dataset. Then our feature follower effectively aligns the feature spaces of noisy, partial observation with the necessary input for pre-trained motion priors, and quickly recovers a complete mesh sequence of motion. We demonstrate that the transformer-based autoencoder can collect necessary spatio-temporal correlations robust to various adversaries, such as missing temporal frames, or noisy observation under severe occlusion. Our framework is general and can be applied to recover the full 3D dynamics of other subjects with parametric representations.

The proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is a popular control loop feedback mechanism that allows users to efficiently regulate their system outputs. As demonstrated in this project, one of the main applications of PID control is temperature regulation. This project describes the process of setting up the PID parameters of the controller with a trial-and-error tuning method that aims to implement better control system responses. MATLAB/Simulink is the software environment used to replicate the PID temperature controller, and then a real PID controller is tuned with an Arduino microcontroller. The temperature is regulated by a thermocouple, which employs the Seebeck effect to provide power based on a temperature gradient. Simulated and experimental results are compared to observe how a closed-loop PID system should behave. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper investigates the tracking and erosion performance of silicone rubber filled with alumina trihydrate under DC dry band arcing in the inclined plane tracking and erosion test (IPT). Alumina trihydrate is incorporated into silicone rubber at 50 wt.% loading level for preparing silicone rubber composites, which are exposed to DC dry band arcing under mild and severe voltage levels in the inclined plane tracking and erosion test. Test outcomes indicate that the mechanism of silicone rubber deterioration changes with respect to the severity of the DC dry band arcing. It is found that dry band arcing tends to stimulate surface tracking under mild voltage levels and erosion due to thermal degradation under relatively higher voltage levels (critical). Moreover, test results indicate that silicone rubber erosion is not solely influenced by the dry band arcing power derived from the leakage current, but also dependent on additional contributing mechanisms leading to elevated surface temperatures and severe erosion. © 2023 IEEE.

Cervical cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in women. One of the cervical cancer screening methods is pap smear method. However, using a pap smear method to detect cervical cancer takes a long time for a pathologist to diagnose. Hence, a rapid development of medical computerization for early detection to get the results quickly is needed. This paper proposes synthetic data augmentation by using Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) to increase number of pap smear samples in dataset. Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) is employed to extract features from dataset. Classification of 3 classes which are Adenocarcinoma, High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HSIL), and Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is conducted using Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). The result shows that the addition of synthetic data improves the performance of ELM with the accuracy of 90%. This accuracy is better than the accuracy of ELM using only the original dataset which is 85%. © 2022 IEEE.

Indoor positioning systems (IPS) are gaining higher attention recently due to the increased demand for indoor location aware services. Visible light communication (VLC) is a promising technology to use for IPS. In particular, received signal strength (RSS) based visible light positioning (VLP) systems are gaining high attention due to their low complexity and cost, in addition to higher positioning accuracy compared to their radio frequency (RF) counterparts. One of the main challenges in RSS based VLP systems is encountered when the receiver (the target) is tilted and not placed in parallel with the transmitters (the anchors). RSS based trilateration techniques require a computationally expensive and time-consuming process to solve the nonlinear problem of tilted receivers. Fingerprint based systems generally provide high positioning accuracy with short positioning time, and maybe used to circumvent the need to deal with the high complexity associated with tilted receivers. However, the design of a fingerprinting VLP system for tilted receiver has not been explored yet as far as receivers with a single photodetector (PD) are concerned. In this work, a fingerprint based VLP system for tilted receivers using artificial neural networks (ANN) is proposed, where different types of input features for training the positioning algorithm are studied. We show that using the components of the normal vector to the PD's surface in addition to RSS values provides an excellent positioning accuracy with an average positioning error of 25.41 cm and a remarkably low average positioning time less than $\mathbf{5} \boldsymbol{\mu} \boldsymbol{s}$ . In addition, important research directions for future work are discussed.

6G networks require ultra-low latency and intelligent resource management in IoT environments. Compute-First Networking (CFN), integrating distributed computing and edge caching, addresses backhaul congestion. This paper proposes CaRL, a DRL-based caching framework using TD3 algorithm. CaRL optimizes cache placement at edge nodes by incorporating real-time network state, content popularity, and resource utilization. Simulations show CaRL improves cache hit ratio, reduces latency, and enhances bandwidth efficiency, and ensures secure caching decisions under dynamic network conditions. Unlike existing methods, CaRL adapts to dynamic network conditions by integrating latency, CPU, and memory metrics, demonstrating scalability and adaptability in CFN-driven 6G environments. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Hypertension is a noncommunicable disease (NCD) that causes global concern, high costs and a high number of deaths. Internet of Things, Ubiquitous Computing, and Cloud Computing enable the development of systems for remote and real-time monitoring of patients affected with NCDs like hypertension. This paper reports on a system for monitoring hypertension patients that was built by employing these techniques. This system allows the vital signs of a patient (blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature) to be captured via sensors built in a wearable device similar to a wristwatch. These signals are transmitted to the patient's mobile device for processing, and the generated clinical data are sent to the cloud to be properly presented and analysed by the health professionals responsible for the patient. To deal with semantic interoperability issues that arise when multiple different devices and system components must interoperate, a semantic model was conceived for this system in terms of ontologies for diseases and devices. This paper also presents the semantic module that we developed and implemented in the cloud to perform reasoning based on this model, demonstrating the potential benefits of incorporating semantic technologies in our system.
