In this article we consider the estimation of static parameters for partially observed diffusion process with discrete-time observations over a fixed time interval. In particular, we assume that one must time-discretize the partially observed diffusion process and work with the model with bias and consider maximizing the resulting log-likelihood. Using a novel double randomization scheme, based upon Markovian stochastic approximation we develop a new method to unbiasedly estimate the static parameters, that is, to obtain the maximum likelihood estimator with no time discretization bias. Under assumptions we prove that our estimator is unbiased and investigate the method in several numerical examples, showing that it can empirically out-perform existing unbiased *** Codes 60J22, 62M05, 65C40, 62M20 © 2023, CC BY.

This paper presents a novel algorithm for reachability analysis of nonlinear discrete-time systems. The proposed method combines constrained zonotopes (CZs) with polyhedral relaxations of factorable representations of nonlinear functions to propagate CZs through nonlinear functions, which is normally done using conservative linearization techniques. The new propagation method provides better approximations than those resulting from linearization procedures, leading to significant improvements in the computation of reachable sets in comparison to other CZ methods from the literature. Numerical examples highlight the advantages of the proposed algorithm.

The efficacy of photovoltaic systems is significantly impacted by electrical production losses attributed to faults. Ensuring the rapid and cost-effective restoration of system efficiency necessitates robust fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) procedures. This study introduces a novel interval-gated recurrent unit (I-GRU) based Bayesian optimization framework for FDD in grid-connected photovoltaic (GCPV) systems. The utilization of an interval-valued representation is proposed to address uncertainties inherent in the systems, the GRU is employed for fault classification, while the Bayesian algorithm optimizes its hyperparameters. Addressing uncertainties through the proposed approach enhances monitoring capabilities, mitigating computational and storage costs associated with sensor uncertainties. The effectiveness of the proposed approach for FDD in GCPV systems is demonstrated using experimental application.

This study presents a novel approach to human keypoint detection in low-resolution thermal images using transfer learning techniques. We introduce the first application of the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test in thermal image computer vision, establishing a new paradigm for mobility assessment. Our method leverages a MobileNetV3-Small encoder and a ViTPose decoder, trained using a composite loss function that balances latent representation alignment and heatmap accuracy. The model was evaluated using the Object Keypoint Similarity (OKS) metric from the COCO Keypoint Detection Challenge. The proposed model achieves better performance with AP, AP50, and AP75 scores of 0.861, 0.942, and 0.887 respectively, outperforming traditional supervised learning approaches like Mask R-CNN and ViTPose-Base. Moreover, our model demonstrates superior computational efficiency in terms of parameter count and FLOPS. This research lays a solid foundation for future clinical applications of thermal imaging in mobility assessment and rehabilitation monitoring. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

At present, ad hoc networks are getting a lot of attention, because they have many features that differ from the rest of the networks and because they are technically advanced. In routing protocols, the Vehicular Ad-hoc network (VANET) differ in performance because each protocol has different variables, such as variable density, speed, and traffic scenarios. In this work, we proposed topology-based routing namely Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol. The AODV protocol has been simulated in case of the movement of vehicles at a fixed velocity at 60km/h, and in case of randomly changing the vehicle's locations in the network. There are three parameters used to investigate the performance of the proposed AODV protocol which are packet delivery ratio, and overheads. The Simulation results show a significant decrease from 0.55 to 0.82 in the packet delivery ratio. On the other hand, the performance of the AODV protocol demonstrates effective communication for the VANETs.

In this article we consider Bayesian estimation of static parameters for a class of partially observed McKean-Vlasov diffusion processes with discrete-time observations over a fixed time interval. This problem features several obstacles to its solution, which include that the posterior density is numerically intractable in continuous-time, even if the transition probabilities are available and even when one uses a time-discretization, the posterior still cannot be used by adopting well-known computational methods such as Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). In this paper we provide a solution to this problem by using new MCMC algorithms which can solve the aforementioned issues. This MCMC algorithm is extended to use multilevel Monte Carlo (MLMC) methods. We prove convergence bounds on our parameter estimators and show that the MLMC-based MCMC algorithm reduces the computational cost to achieve a mean square error versus ordinary MCMC by an order of magnitude. The proposed antenna with a size of 90 mm x 90 mm, and the ground portion is 64 mm x 64 mm, which material is FR4 glass epoxy substrate with the thickness of 1.6 mm, relative permittivity of 4.3 and loss tangent of 0.023, consists of four modified dipole elements and four power dividers, as shown in Figure. 1. For the multi-band and broadband operation, three dipole antennas were shunted to be a dipole element. The electrical-length of the dipole element can be determined from the one quarter-wave length at the 2.45 GHz, 5.5 GHz and 6.525 GHz, for covering 2400 MHz-2500 MHz, 5150 MHz-5850 MHz and 5925 MHz-7125 MHz. In order to operates in various modes such as normal mode and axial mode, the modified four port triple-band microstrip series power divider was designed. In normal mode, it radiates horizontally polarized waves where as in axial mode, it radiates circularly polarized waves. The radiated patterns of the proposed antenna as shown in Figure. 2. The features of the proposed antenna are shown in the Table I. Impressive radiated gains and efficiencies are obtained.

Ontology embeddings map classes, relations, and individuals in ontologies into Rn, and within Rn similarity between entities can be computed or new axioms inferred. For ontologies in the Description Logic EL++, several embedding methods have been developed that explicitly generate models of an ontology. However, these methods suffer from some limitations;they do not distinguish between statements that are unprovable and provably false, and therefore they may use entailed statements as negatives. Furthermore, they do not utilize the deductive closure of an ontology to identify statements that are inferred but not asserted. We evaluated a set of embedding methods for EL++ ontologies, incorporating several modifications that aim to make use of the ontology deductive closure. In particular, we designed novel negative losses that account both for the deductive closure and different types of negatives and formulated evaluation methods for knowledge base completion. We demonstrate that our embedding methods improve over the baseline ontology embedding in the task of knowledge base or ontology completion. © 2024, CC BY.

Predicting fish growth trajectory is crucial in achieving better control for the growing phase of the fish in aquaculture systems. However, fish biomass sensors that directly measure the fish’s weight are currently unavailable. Additionally, the fish growth model that relies on the fish weight is affected by environmental and feeding management factors, raising the difficulty of predicting the weight. This paper proposes comparative empirical and data-driven models for fish weight prediction. The empirical fish growth model relies directly on the growth ratio, an essential component for optimizing fish growth, while the data-driven model is based on long short-term memory (LSTM). Since the exact daily food ratio, proportional to the body weight of a growing fish, cannot be prescribed, we optimize the growth ratio of the empirical model in a sliding window framework based on the previous growth periods and then predict the fish weights a few days ahead through a nonlinear exponential regression approach. The LSTM method uses a normal distribution to generate multiple datasets over the experimental fish weight range and interpolate these data to provide a good prediction. To this end, we propose a weighted sum optimization method that combines the individual cost of the LSTM and empirical methods to achieve better short-term prediction performance. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed models in predicting the fish weight and show that the combined weighted sum approach reduces the testing errors by 61.3% and 70.9% compared to the empirical and LSTM methods, respectively. Furthermore, an increasing specific growth rate (SGR) for both LSTM and combined models was observed in the short-term predictions.

Many economically essential crops in Indonesia (such as coffee, tea, chocolate, or copra) require storage or drying under certain environmental conditions, especially temperature and humidity. The solar dryer dome, typically used for agricultural purposes in Indonesia, produces a sufficient amount of heat to increase the evaporation rate inside the dome and reduce the moisture content of the commodity. A hybrid solar dryer accompanied by a photovoltaic panel, fan, and ventilation system is generally suitable. The system can provide an optimum environment with minimum control. However, as the outdoor temperature and humidity change dramatically, such as at night time, more control is required. Based on Industry 4.0 technologies, we have developed a new kind of hybrid solar dryer that provides an optimum environment 24/7. The system, called Smart Dome 4.0, is an intelligent, low-cost, self-sufficient drying and storage system to support Indonesia Agriculture 4.0. The system has a local power generation unit to self-sustain the required energy and operate without connecting to the electricity grid. The system utilizes a machine-learning algorithm to predict the environmental condition and optimally uses self-generated electric power. The developed Smart Dome 4.0 technology is critical to producing a sustainable solar dome under drastic environmental dynamics. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
