In this work, [email protected] core-shell nanoparticles (C-S NPs) as a p-type gas sensing material was synthesized by a facile wet-chemical method, and evaluated their gas sensing properties as compared to the pristine NiO NPs gas sensors. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) results exhibited the well-dispersed formation of [email protected] C-S NPs having the total size of 70–120 nm and NiO shells having 30–50 nm thickness. The C-S morphology as well as the overall particle sizes are unchanged even at 500 °C. The gas sensing result reveals that the response of [email protected] C-S NPs gas sensor is higher than pristine NiO NPs gas sensor for 100 ppm of ethanol at 200 °C operating temperature. The baseline resistance in the air for [email protected] C-S NPs sensor is lowered as compared to pristine NiO NPs, which is due to the increased number of holes as charge carriers in [email protected] C-S NPs. The high response of [email protected] core-shell NPs as compared to pristine NiO NPs is attributed to electronic and chemical sensitization effects of Au. In [email protected] C-S structure, the contact between metal (Au) and semiconductor (NiO) formed a Schottky junction since Au metal acted as electron acceptor, a withdrawal of electrons from NiO by Au metal core leaved behind number of holes as charge carriers in [email protected] C-S NPs. Therefore, the baseline resistance of [email protected] C-S NPs greatly decreased than pristine NiO NPs, as a result the [email protected] C-S NPs showed higher response. On the other hand, in chemical sensitization effect, Au NPs catalyzed to dissociate O 2 molecules into ionic species. This work will give some clue to the researchers for the further development of p-type based C-S NPs sensors.

In the context of achieving Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in hospitals, among others, it is carried out with control and supervision, including in the case of hospital facility maintenance installations. Besides that, the hospital needs to improve its services. The asset reporting system is one of the high needs in this field, so it requires a solution that can deal with existing problems. Unfortunately, the current reporting system so far is more likely to be conventional, such as by telephone. This study proposes a new solution to the hospital facility maintenance reporting process, namely by utilising smartphone-based applications that directly connected to the server. So, the information distributed to the competent parties. This solution can speed up the reporting process and actions. Also, save the historical equipment that is available from each service room — the results of this study used as a hospital facility maintenance reporting system.

Improve of the overall network efficiency between source and destination relay selection and interference free communication is important criteria in WSN. In this paper we are proposing SON based algorithm capable of simultaneous Scheduling and Routing in WSN. The proposes scheme contains the three stages, in first stage the sensor nodes are classified into different clusters and each nodes having different weight based on distance from base station. In second stage the IRSS (Improvised Received Signal Strength) based scheme used select Routing path based on the Node weight, Residual Energy and Probability of Link Loss values of Relay Sensors. On the other side the channel estimation algorithm executed simultaneously with previous two stages. In final we are implementing the Data Logging based Scheduling and Routing scheme (DLSR) for WSN with Energy and Maximized Throughput. We are applying path recovery algorithm in presence of Void path or node failures. The proposed scheme additionally will form the virtual relay path to make communication with nearly zero loss. © 2017 IEEE.

PbTe crystals have a soft transverse optical phonon mode in the terahertz frequency range, which is known to efficiently decay into heat-carrying acoustic phonons, resulting in anomalously low thermal conductivity. Here, we studied this phonon via polarization-dependent terahertz spectroscopy. We observed softening of this mode with decreasing temperature, indicative of incipient ferroelectricity, which we explain through a model including strong anharmonicity with a quartic displacement term. In magnetic fields up to 25 T, the phonon mode splits into two modes with opposite handedness, exhibiting circular dichroism. Their frequencies display Zeeman splitting together with an overall diamagnetic shift with increasing magnetic field. Using a group-theoretical approach, we demonstrate that these observations are the result of magnetic field-induced morphic changes in the crystal symmetries through the Lorentz force exerted on the lattice ions. Thus, our study reveals a novel process of controlling phonon properties in a soft ionic lattice by a strong magnetic field. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This work investigates the use of meta-learning for optimization tasks when a classic operational research problem (flowshop) is considered at the base level. It involves sequencing a set of jobs to be processed by machines in series aiming to minimize the time spent. There are various algorithms or metaheuristics proposed to solve flowshop instances and the choice of the best one usually demands time and resources. Meta-learning applied to algorithm recommendation can simulate specialists' choices as it provides a mapping between the problem characteristics (called meta-features) and the algorithm performance. This work proposes an approach for knowledge discovery operating on the performance of four metaheuristics (Hill Climbing, Tabu Search, Simulated Annealing, and Iterated Local Search) while solving several flowshop instances. Besides recommending the best metaheuristic for each instance, the proposed approach can also recommend well suited parameters values using an Irace-based training process. Despite the possibility of using complex meta-features and powerful machine learning technique, the first experiments have been conducted using simple low and high-level meta-features and a classic machine learning model called Classification and Regression Trees (CART) for the recommendation. Results show that the proposed approach is promising as the induced rules indicate that some metaheuristic parameters are preferable. Nevertheless, regarding the algorithm recommendation there is a lot of room for improvement.

Properties of Superiorized Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient (SupPCG) algorithms in image reconstruction from projections are examined. Least squares (LS) is usually chosen for measuring data-inconsistency in these inverse problems. Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient algorithms are fast methods for finding an LS solution. However, for ill-posed problems, such as image reconstruction, an LS solution may not provide good image quality. This can be taken care of by superiorization. A superiorized algorithm leads to images with the value of a secondary criterion (a merit function such as the total variation) improved as compared to images with similar data-inconsistency obtained by the algorithm without superiorization. Numerical experimentation shows that SupPCG can lead to high-quality reconstructions within a remarkably short time. Data clustering is a well-known data mining approach that usually used to minimizes the intra distance but maximizes inter distance of each data center. The cluster problem has been proved to be an NP-hard problem. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm based on Whole optimization algorithm (WOA) and Crow search algorithm (CSA) is proposed, namely HWCA. The HWCA algorithm has the advantages of the search strategy of the WOA and CSA. In addition to, there are two operators used to improve the quality of solution, namely hybrid individual operator and enhance diversity operator. The hybrid individual operator is used to exchanges individuals from the WOA and CSA systems by using the roulette wheel approach. In other hand, the HWCA performs enhance diversity operator to improve the quality of each system. More over, the HWCA is incorporated with center optimization strategy to enhance diversity of each system. In the performance evaluation, the proposed MPGO algorithm was comparison WOA and CSA algorithm with six well-known UCI benchmarks. The results show that the proposed algorithm has a higher measure of accuracy rate with comparison algorithms.
