Intelligent motor control is not a new concept; intelligent devices are mature technologies accepted throughout industry with well-documented benefits. This paper outlines a less well-documented area: teaching motor control and protection theories through the interactions of a fully integrated, standards-compliant, intelligent motor control center. Full range of motion (ROM) at a joint is necessary for efficient and adaptive movement; as such, it is an essential clinical evaluation measure for assessing an individual's motor function, which can be affected by any number of musculoskeletal injuries and neuropathies. Measurement of joint ROM in the clinic has classically been accomplished statically through the use of a manual goniometer. More recent efforts in the fields of prosthetics and orthotics have demonstrated the potential utility of wearable systems (e.g., exoskeletons, orthoses) designed to control joint motion(s) and instrumented with sensors capable of capturing joint angle data dynamically. This paper presents a novel methodology to assess the performance of a variety of angle sensors in the context of wearable joint angle measurement, particularly for use in articulated ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs). Dynamic and static errors are considered, and a cost-benefit analysis of a variety of off-the-shelf and custom-built sensors is reported to provide comparative data for selecting a sensor to measure joint motion in wearable exoskeletal systems. Introductory engineering courses can benefit from the flipped classroom model as these courses develop hands-on skills such as engineering design and critical thinking skills. Providing students with instruction outside the classroom with e-learning tools frees up class time to engage in activities that promote deeper learning, e.g. classroom discussions, problem-solving sessions, design activities, etc. In this paper, we discuss the implementation of a flipped classroom version of an introductory engineering design course. We evaluate student performance and perception of a flipped classroom version using data collected during the course. We also discuss elements of the course that were found to be the most beneficial for the students.

This paper addresses the problem of damage detection technique of structural health monitoring (SHM). Kernel principal components analysis (KPCA)-based generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) technique is developed to enhance the damage detection of SHM processes. The data are collected from the complex three degree of freedom spring-mass-dashpot system in order to calculate the KPCA model. The developed KPCA-based GLR is the method that attempts to combine the advantages of GLR statistic in the cases where process models are not available and a multivariate statistical process control; KPCA. The simulations show the improved performance of the KPCA-based GLR damage detection method.

Berkah Mart is one of the new minimarkets in Pekanbaru city which began to develop as a retail business to meet the needs of the community. In his operation, Berkah Mart still uses the traditional store management perception that the placement of product layout on sale shelves has not been through sales analysis. Existing products have not been reviewed from the consumer's point of view, whereas the marketing economics concept provides a variety of product and consumer management methods for business management in Berkah Mart, including market bucket analysis techniques and various itemset search algorithms. In this research, Market Basket Basket Analysis with FP-Growth algorithm is proposed to determine the layout and planning of goods availability. The application of FP-Growth algorithm proved to be useful in generating many and informative association rules to find out the consumer spending pattern at Berkah Mart in Pekanbaru. Moreover, from the rules of the customer association can be segmented separately to meet the specific needs of customers with cost-effective by using some special promotions for the general group. The experimental results show that FP-Growth algorithm can analyze quickly and efficiently informing consumer shopping pattern at Berkah Mart and can increase Berkah Mart revenue.

Nowadays, messaging technology in digital data form more often used and not less messages that confidentially wanted. Then it should be modified so that can be understood only by the sender and the intended recipients. All of this system can be realization by using cryptography. LUC algorithms are introduced by Smith and Lennon in 1993. LUC algorithm is an algorithm that based on the use of Lucas sequence (specific arithmetic operations derived from Lucas row) that rarely used to enhance the security of the messages. In this research, LUC algorithm is combined with visual cryptography to process the encryption and the description of a colored image. Four different images were used in the trial here. The performance of the system is assessed using Structural similarity (SSIM) which has an assessment similar to human eye. If the image quality is the same as the original image, then the SSIM value is one. Whereas if the quality of decryption image is very different from the original image then the value of SSIM is zero.
