Although hydrogen is an ideal energy carrier, storing and transporting it in gas or liquid form is unsafe and inefficient. Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) are promising compounds that can efficiently accommodate hydrogen. However, choosing the optimal LOHC from millions of candidates is difficult because calculating dehydrogenation enthalpy, a key criterion, is computationally expensive. To address this, we propose a new graph neural network-based method called Aggregate With Self-node representation (AWS) that efficiently and accurately predicts dehydrogenation enthalpy. We improve existing graph neural networks and address cases where expressiveness is limited. We also present an ensemble scheme for weighting prediction results. Our experiments on real-world LOHC screening and benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method in chemical property predictions. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Systematic management of all phases of the lifecycle of an industrial control system, recently referred to as operational technology or OT for short, ensures that the system is up to date, compliant with regulations and in line with changing business requirements. This is especially true for critical infrastructure. In this way, operational resilience is improved, risks are minimized and a proactive approach to maintenance is encouraged, with a focus on safety, efficiency and long-term sustainability. The paper provides an overview of the motivations for systematic lifecycle management of OT systems, offers a description and illustration of lifecycle costs in the CAPEX and OPEX phases, emphasizes the changing role of corrective and preventive maintenance from a lifecycle management perspective, and budgeting for various activities, including cybersecurity and OT system upgrades. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

We report a thin film Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) on Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) based microcantilever for fluid dynamic viscosity (ηfluid) sensing using optical and electrical characterization schemes. The viscosity of the medium is modulated by adding glycerol to deionized (DI) water. The measurements are carried over a viscosity range of 0.98-24.24 cP, which covers the operational range for biomedical applications. The fundamental cantilever mode yields a quality factor (Q) of 630 and 15 in air and DI water, respectively, whilst the second mode exhibits a Q of 840 and 30 in air and DI water, respectively. Sensor characterization using Laser Doppler Vibrometer (LDV) shows a power law relation between Q and ηfluid (Q = aηfluidb). A high relative responsivity of 0.38 and 0.41 with respect to ηfluid is observed for the first and second flexural modes of the microcantilever, respectively. These results indicate the development of a good platform for on-chip viscosity measurements for biomedical and industrial applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Landslides are destructive natural disasters that have a strong destructive potential. The field of landslide disaster prevention is built around landslide detection mapping. Land slide detection is one of the fundamental studies in this subject since the goal of landslide analysis is to reduce the likelihood of landslide occurrence by physical intervention. This study summarizes pioneering studies in the area of landslide analysis and presents how to gather and use landslide data for deciliter and cubic centimeter techniques. The most popular analytical indexes for object detection and image segmentation are listed next. This work even suggests a system of algorithms for identifying the presence of floodwater (water hazard) in images taken using cell phones or other optical cameras. Of the several approaches tested, the pretrained VGG-16 network using a logistic regression classifier achieved the best results. Landslide and flood prediction research is conducted by interpreting aerial photographs and conducting field verification. Remote sensing technologies have enabled researchers to use pictures provided by high-resolution laser to identify landslides and flood brought on by significant events. © 2023 IEEE.

In this research, we propose a dual-beam frequency-scanning leaky-wave antenna that utilizes a composite slow-wave waveguide. The composite slow-wave waveguide is created by integrating double-layer symmetrical spoof surface plasmon polaritons structures on both sides of the half-mode substrate integrated waveguide to support a composite slow-wave mode. To achieve the desired dual-beam radiation pattern, periodic circular patches are placed on both sides of the composite slow-wave waveguide. These circular radiation patches are coupled electromagnetically with the slow-wave waveguide. Additionally, a rectangular copper patch is introduced in the antenna design to reduce interference between the two radiation beams. Using simulation, we demonstrate that the proposed leaky-wave antenna achieves continuous beam-scanning within an operating frequency range of 9-11 GHz, with angles of 54° and 55° for the upper and lower beams, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent efforts in network measurement place measurement tasks on programmable switches to measure high-speed traffic. These tasks extract flow data, i.e., events, from packets and send events to the control plane. However, the tasks may generate massive events in a short time. In this context, the links transferring events to the control plane and the control plane servers that handle events may be overloaded, i.e., control plane overload. None of existing solutions can eliminate control plane overload. In this paper, we propose MTP, a framework that eliminates control plane overload via careful measurement task placement. Our key idea is to allocate enough resources for each task during task placement to avoid control plane overload at runtime. For each task, MTP estimates its maximum possible rate of sending events to the control plane. Then its optimization framework addresses the resource restrictions of both switches and the control plane. The experiments on Tofino switches indicate that MTP outperforms existing solutions with higher accuracy in several use cases. © 2022 IEEE.

when an electrical Vehicle (EV) encounters an accident or the vehicle is taken to a service station, the DC-link capacitor in the inverter must be discharged to ensure safety of both the passengers and the operator. This paper examines the limitations of traditional discharge techniques and proposes a novel hybrid discharge solution that combines the existing winding-based discharge method with a flyback converter. The proposed technique enhances redundancy, decreases the discharge time and minimize the risk of DC-link voltage overshoot during the regeneration action caused by quadrature axis current injection. The study introduces a low-voltage discharge circuit enabled by a flyback converter using MOSFET in linear mode, presenting two distinct approaches. The paper includes a simulation comparison of winding-based discharge with the proposed Hybrid discharge technique. The proposed solution has a higher discharge rate and reduces the voltage overshoot on the DC-Link capacitor. The proposed hardware is verified using the simulation and experiments conducted on a high voltage supply test rig. © 2024 IEEE.

In this work, we study the problem of deploying and operating correlated data-intensive vNF-SCs in inter-datacenter elastic optical networks. Requiring for a set of correlated data-intensive vNF-SCs, the service completion time (SCT) of a network service is related to the maximum branch completion time of those vNF-SC branches, making the correlation awareness of importance for the problem optimization. Being aware of it, we propose a dynamic programming based optimization scheme for the deployment and operation of single vNF-SC branch and two correlation-aware service provisioning algorithms to minimize the average SCT of network services. Simulation results verified that the proposed algorithms can effectively reduce the average SCT of network services compared with a benchmark algorithm that ignores the importance of correlation awareness. © 2023 IEEE.

The monitoring system of the emping melinjo dryer is a system made to make it easier for melinjo emping craftsmen to monitor the drying rate of emping melinjo on the emping melinjo dryer based on temperature, humidity, weight, and drying status, in general monitoring is usually done through the human sense of touch only or on the Liquid Crystal Display screen display in the melinjo emping dryer box. With the real-time monitoring system of the melinjo emping dryer, the manual method is replaced with this system, this system is made in the form of an application called SMAPEM IoT, in this application there is Temperature, Humidity, Weight, and Drying Status Data and a graphic display. This system works by utilizing the thingspeak platform database as a storage place for value data sent by temperature, humidity, and weight sensors on the melinjo emping dryer, so that the monitoring system for this melinjo emping dryer can be accessed anywhere and anytime, provided that the device must be connected to an internet connection. The conclusion of the research conducted is that the results of testing on the melinjo emping dryer monitoring system that has been made work quite well with sensor reading errors between the Serial Monitor and the Thingspeak Platform Database, average temperature error of 0.43 Percent, average Humidity error of 1.43 Percent, and average Weight error of 3.15 Percent. © 2023 IEEE.
