The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all domains of human life, including the economic and social fabric of societies. One of the central strategies for managing public health throughout the pandemic has been through persuasive messaging and collective behaviour change. To help scholars better understand the social and moral psychology behind public health behaviour, we present a dataset comprising of 51,404 individuals from 69 countries. This dataset was collected for the International Collaboration on Social & Moral Psychology of COVID-19 project (ICSMP COVID-19). This social science survey invited participants around the world to complete a series of moral and psychological measures and public health attitudes about COVID-19 during an early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic (between April and June 2020). The survey included seven broad categories of questions: COVID-19 beliefs and compliance behaviours; identity and social attitudes; ideology; health and well-being; moral beliefs and motivation; personality traits; and demographic variables. We report both raw and cleaned data, along with all survey materials, data visualisations, and psychometric evaluations of key variables.

Cluster analysis is important in scientific and industrial fields. In this study, we proposed a novel chaotic biogeography-based optimization (CBBO) method, and applied it in centroid-based clustering methods. The results over three types of simulation data showed that this proposed CBBO method gave better performance than chaotic particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithm, firefly algorithm, and quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization. In all, our CBBO method is effective in centroid-based clustering.

The purpose of this paper is to measure the sustainability of corporate through using the relationship of major shareholder using complex system. As a result of case study, we can find two types of meaningful network. First type is the clustering according to connectivity among major shareholders. Second Type is the network according to corporate group. First type shows small world network and characteristics of corporate group such like business style, decision making speed and owner risk. Second type shows scale-free network and investment preference according flowing power law in stock market. Third type is the clustering according to industry sector of stock focusing on Information Technology.

Mobile devices create learning opportunities to which you cannot remain indifferent. If you combine these capabilities to specific needs of students and teachers, you will be on the path towards academic success. It was in this context that Letrinhas arose, an information system aimed at improving students' reading literacy developed by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) in response to a challenge by Artur Gonçalves Group of Schools from Torres Novas. Teacher and student adherence to the system and the results obtained suggest a positive impact on the reading literacy of the students involved, as well as it has created a new challenge to authors: expanding Letrinhas to other curricular content, thus responding to a need expressed by the teachers of the group of schools. Thus, by investing on the potential of m-learning, a new version of Letrinhas has been developed that provides new resources enabling the creation of new content based on subject matter taught in any subject area, as well as its automatic assessment. As such, teachers can build interactive learning scenarios that favour the development of skills, reflection and the autonomy of their students.

Feasibility of the Quasi Floating Gate (QFG) MOSFET to implement the electronic circuits required in Energy Harvesting or Energy Scavenging microsystems is addressed. Its application in analog circuits allows energy-efficient low-voltage and class AB operation with quiescent currents much lower than the dynamic currents. When it is applied to CMOS digital logic, it allows subthreshold operation with modest performance degradation. Simulation and measurement results of various circuits are presented, validating in practice the proposed techniques.

Estimating Animal-Related Outages on Overhead Distribution Feeders Using Boosting

Faults on overhead distribution feeders have significant impact on the distribution reliability. Literature review on outages shows that overhead lines are highly susceptible to environmental factors such as weather, trees and animal. Historical analysis of outage data recorded by utility in Kansas showed that the occurrences of animal-caused outages are dependent on weather conditions and time of the year. This paper proposes models based on neural network combined with boosting algorithms based on AdaBoost to estimate weekly animal-related outages. Effectiveness of the proposed models is evaluated using actual data for four cities of different sizes in Kansas. Performance of the proposed models are compared with each other and with neural network without boosting, and previously implemented models. The results clearly show that boosting reduces mean square error and mean absolute error, and increases correlation between the estimated outages and observed outages. Additionally, AdaBoost+ performs better than *** with lower errors and higher correlations.

Railway transportation systems are gaining relevance in their adoption, driven by decreasing costs, higher interconnectivity options and timely operation. The Railway Transportation system is comprised by vehicular elements, as well as several infrastructure elements, which require constant interaction and communication, for tele-control and tele-command, signaling systems, passenger information and entertainment, to name a few. In this work, the implementation of context aware scenarios within different locations within the railway system (i.e., infrastructure elements as well as within the train) are analyzed by means of in-house implemented 3D deterministic ray launching code, in order to design different wireless system configuration, including PLMN, WLAN and WBAN technologies. The results indicate the feasibility in the implementation of a truly connected railway system, providing new services and applications within this framework.

Use of social media in the diabetes community: An exploratory analysis of diabetes-related tweets

Background: Use of social media is becoming ubiquitous, and disease-related communities are forming online, including communities of interest around diabetes. Objective: Our objective was to examine diabetes-related participation on Twitter by describing the frequency and timing of diabetes-related tweets, the geography of tweets, and the types of participants over a 2-year sample of 10% of all tweets. Methods: We identified tweets with diabetes-related search terms and hashtags in a dataset of 29.6 billion tweets for the years 2013 and 2014 and extracted the text, time, location, retweet, and user information. We assessed the frequencies of tweets used across different search terms and hashtags by month and day of week and, for tweets that provided location information, by country. We also performed these analyses for a subset of tweets that used the hashtag #dsma, a social media advocacy community focused on diabetes. Random samples of user profiles in the 2 groups were also drawn and reviewed to understand the types of stakeholders participating online. Results: We found 1,368,575 diabetes-related tweets based on diabetes-related terms and hashtags. There was a seasonality to tweets;a higher proportion occurred during the month of November, which is when World Diabetes Day occurs. The subset of tweets with the #dsma were most frequent on Thursdays (coordinated universal time), which is consistent with the timing of a weekly chat organized by this online community. Approximately 2% of tweets carried geolocation information and were most prominent in the United States (on the east and west coasts), followed by Indonesia and the United Kingdom. For the user profiles randomly selected among overall tweets, we could not identify a relationship to diabetes for the majority of users;for the profiles using the #dsma hashtag, we found that patients with type 1 diabetes and their caregivers represented the largest proportion of individuals. In this work, the analysis on the design and implementation of dense wireless sensor networks is presented, by performing deterministic wireless channel analysis, providing assessment on topological and morphological impact of complex urban environments in the operation of the employed wireless sensor networks, within WLAN/WPAN standards. The proposed methodology, combining initial radioplanning estimations aided with complete scenario description can provide a useful tool in the deployment of future massive wireless networks, providing optimized levels of service whilst minimizing energy consumption and overall interference levels.

Nowadays, plenty of simulation techniques based on deterministic methods like Ray Tracing and Ray Launching, combining Geometric Optics and Uniform Theory of Diffraction, are used to predict waves' behaviour within a defined environment and to make better decisions on the deployment of antennas for particular purposes. However, simulations' quality largely depends on the number of rays, providing sufficient angular resolution in the ray launching process. The computational cost of simulations in high definition (HD) prevents their use in complex environments and their low definition (LD) counterparts are used. In this article we propose a technique based on collaborative filtering (CF) to lessen the low quality problems of LD simulations. Such technique outperforms previous works in this field in terms of accuracy, precision and computational cost. Moreover, we show that our approach obtains results very similar to those of HD in much less time. Therefore, using combined deterministic-CF techniques allows the estimation of radio-planning tasks in large, complex medical scenarios with a potentially large amount of transceivers.
