Stroke is one of the cerebrovascular health disorders caused by a blockage of blood flow to the brain. Data from South East Asian Medical Information Center (SEAMIC) explain that the most significant stroke mortality occurred in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, and Thailand. There are several methods for diagnosing stroke, one of which is an electroencephalograph (EEG). EEG is one of the more widely used BCI methods due to its lower price, portability, ease of use, and high temporal resolution than other methods. Most EEG require signals from various places on the scalp to achieve good performance. However, using a large number of channels can degrade signal performance in the EEG. Spatial selection can be used for channel selection in the EEG stroke signal which can then be useful for evaluation of stroke therapy. Therefore, this study will select the optimized channel using the spatial selection method to see which channels are relevant to the EEG stroke signal. Also, using the Power Spectral Density extraction feature and Extreme Learning Machine classification. The L2-norm energy calculation method gets better results than other methods. This method can also select the active channel relevant to the stroke EEG signal. The results show that the spatial selection method can increase accuracy by 15 percent and optimize the system with 37.5 percent channel reductions. © 2022 IEEE.

Femtocell is a promising technology to increase network capacity and coverage, especially in indoor areas. It has low power, short range. The Home Base Station/HeNB (Femtocell Base Station) can be installed by users using connection of personal equipment such as laptops, notepads and cell phones, and it is activated by service provider. By deploying femtocells into existing macrocell/microcell areas, the radio resources are shared among femtocells and existing macrocells. However, the sharing of limited available bandwidth frequency licenses cause interference problems between femtocells and/or macrocells. The interference problem becomes more complex when the number of deployed femtocells is many and dense creating a phenomenon of Ultra Dense Network (UDN). To cope with this interference problem, this paper proposes a power allocation method for femtocells deployed in macrocells areas (UDN) at downlink transmissions. In this method the power transmitted at HeNB to each femtocell user is adjusted in such a way as to reduce or increase the transmitted power at HeNB. If the estimated SINR value at current time is less than 20 dB, the power on the HeNB is increased by such a way so SINR is expectedly to be 20 dB for next transmission time. However, if the obtained SINR at current transmission time is more than 20 dB, then the transmission power at the HeNB is reduced so that the SINR value becomes 20 dB for the next transmission time. Extensive simulation has been carried out and the performance parameters in terms of SINR, throughput, and BER have been measured and compared to the baseline system, i.e., the system without power allocation method. The simulation results show that the system that applies power allocation method which is used in the cell edge area is better than the baseline system both in the center and the edge of cells. © 2022 IEEE.

The microfluidic device needs multi-step fabrication, and this process relatively takes time because it requires meticulous treatment. This approach, using laser engraving, reduces the conventional mold fabrication step which is created by soft lithography in the cleanroom. For biomedical research purposes, a certain dimension of the microfluidic design needs to be achieved. Meanwhile, different material needs different variable setting in laser engraving. This article’s research objectives are seeking the optimum variable to achieve targeted dimension and investigating the influenced parameters lead to better understand the laser engraving fabrication process. The Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) sheets had been engraved to a particular dimension refers to the mold design that uses in the microfluidic device. The result showed that parameters meet the desired dimension found at values: 1000 for resolution, 95 for power, 500 for frequency, and 60 for speed. It can be noted that these adjusted parameters were performed for a single passage. Moreover, these influenced parameters also had been investigated to see their effect related to the engraving result. The result showed that the speed was the most significant parameter meanwhile the frequency has a stagnant value in the laser engraving process. This study also observed that higher resolution could smoother the rough surface. This study emerges the potential of laser engraving as rapid prototyping machinery for microfluidic technology. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper presents the design, simulation, and parametric study of a phase-controlled Ku-Band $8 \times 4$ array antenna for satellite communication. The single element is a rectangular patch antenna fed directly by a $50-0 \mathrm{hm}$ coaxial feed optimized for operation at 12.5 GHz. In the array configuration, 32 elements are arranged linearly along the x and y axes to achieve a gain of 24 dBi. The proposed study focused on the effect of phase control along the x-axis and y-axis to steer the radiation pattern in azimuth and elevation, respectively. Simulations reveal that increasing the phase difference applied to the elements results in a more significant shift of the main beam direction but also increases the sidelobe level (SLL) and decreases the antenna gain. The study further demonstrates that the main beam direction does not increase linearly beyond a specific phase difference, and grating lobes become apparent when the phase difference exceeds 90 degrees. The number of array elements can be increased to achieve a broader range of main beam steering, and higher bit phase shifters can provide finer phase resolution. The findings of this study offer valuable insights for optimizing phase-controlled beam steering in array antennas, balancing performance trade-offs, and enhancing the flexibility and effectiveness of the beam steering mechanism.

New trends for making an all-weather photovoltaic (PV) that is able to trigger by both sunlight and raindrops become trends in developing the solar energy systems to generate electricity for households, industries and buildings. The idea is to develop a hybrid device that harvests kinetic energy from water without destroying the output of the solar cell during sunny times. This paper reviews the two devices of hybrid sunlight and raindrops, namely are the Triboelectric Nano Generator (TENG) and Pseudo Capacitor Graphene Layer (PCGL), respectively. Both TENG and PCGL similarly in such way places two transparent polymer layers on top of PV cell. When raindrops fall on to the layers and then roll off, the friction generates a static electricity charge. In addition, these devices even could provide electricity at night whenever there is rain. These two trends of all-weather PV obviously have advantages and drawbacks, as they have been developed in order to make them more compact and efficient as the device that harvesting sunlight during dry seasons and rainfall during wet seasons both for days and nights. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Fuzzy controller simulation for micro hydro generator load control using Simulink Matlab

This paper presents the results of research on fuzzy controller simulation for load control of a 5 kW micro-hydro generator using Simulink Matlab. The model uses two input variables and one fuzzy output variable. The controller input variables are consumer power and TRIAC trigger angle while the output is the generator frequency prediction. Based on the simulation results of 41 samples of consumer power used in the simulation, it is found that there are only 4 powerpoints that cause the generator frequency to be outside the specified tolerance limit. Generally, the electric power system in Indonesia uses a frequency of 50 Hz, with a tolerance of±0.4 % or a frequency between 49.8 Hz-50.2 Hz. Overall, it can be said that the performance of the fuzzy controller for controlling the load of the 5 kW micro-hydro generator reviewed in this study has a fairly good performance.

The article explained about the analysis of effect changes the diameter of radiating elements to the improvement of antenna characteristics. The antenna radiating element studied was solid copper wire and the type of antenna observed was an antenna that had a circular contour called the Full Wave Loop antenna. This antenna is use for digital television broadcast receiver applications and has a circle radius of 16 cm. Improved antenna characteristics were analyze for 3 types of radiation element diameter, namely;3.5 mm;2.5 mm and 2.0 mm. The Antennas were operated in a working frequency of 586 MHz, which is for digital television receiver broadcast channels. Based on the test data on the 3 diameter antenna elements and calculation analysis, it is known that the improvement is characteristics VWSR occurs in the radiation element with 2.0 mm diameter, the VSWR value is 1.93, return loss is 7.6 dB, antenna impedance is 97 Ω, gain of 12.88 dBi and antenna bandwidth of 7,17% and gain of 12.86 dBi, while the antenna characteristics of the radiating elements that are 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm larger are worse, among others;for VSWR 2.7 and 3.63. Return loss is -6,9 dB and 4.9 dB. Antenna impedance was 135 Ω and 175 Ω. The antenna gain was 8.78 dBi and 7.1 dBi. The smaller the diameter of the radiating element in the Full Wave Loop antenna will improve the characteristics of VSWR, Return loss, input impedance, gain. On the other hand, the smaller the radiation element will reduce the antenna bandwidth, so it is necessary to look for other methods to improve bandwidth capacity without changing the four characteristics of the good antenna. Likewise, the equation for determining the physical size of the radiating element is redefined. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This research discusses the design of rectenna with microstrip antenna with frequency BTS work frequency in Malang city by using a rectifier to convert electromagnetic power into DC output on GSM1800 working frequency and use the energy storage design to be stored. Harvesting this energy is alternative energy conversion. The produced electrical power can be used by low-powered-devices. Since the obtained power is small, additional circuits will be used so that the obtained power can be stored in energy storage. The power obtained from this research is around 1 to 16 mV. It is obtained from BTS around the Malang city.

The datalink system is required for communication between the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) to the GCS (Ground Control System). In this research, a hairpin BPF (Band Pass Filter) filter will be designed to develop block RF components in the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) datalink system. The filter is designed at specific ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) for frequency of 2.401-2.483GHz according to WiFi application with standard 802.11 b/g/n. The UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) datalink system with this frequency can pass telemetry data and payload data in one frequency channel. NPC H220A substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.18 and a thickness of 1.2 mm was used to design the BPF filter. The filter simulation results show the S11 values ranging from <-18.38 dB to-20dB at a frequency of 2.401GHz – 2.483GHz. Insertion loss values are obtained from <-1.4 dB to 0.76 dB. It is hoped that this filter design can be used for RF system applications on the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) communication datalink that is being developed.

Wireless transmitters in measurement instruments act for transmitting data or signals using radio frequency or currently better known as WIFI by means of 2.4 GHz. WIFI is a wireless local area network (WLAN) communication network. With the existence of telecommunications, measurement and control in industrial processes are heading to a high level of reliability compared to the conventional wired instruments in reaching hard locations or dangerous and hazardous areas. However, this cannot be done easily especially in maintaining the communication performances. Research is needed on the reliability of the wireless transmitter itself. Several factors such as communication disruptions are new challenges for the industry of wireless technology manufacturers to be able to prevent or to minimize errors that can arise in wireless network control systems. Signal strength mapping is needed in designing wireless network control systems. In this paper, the mapping is performed by measuring the signal strength parameters (Power Level) and the use of channels (Channel Usage) at planned locations. The measurement results are then used as sample points in the mapping. Data show that the signal strength measurement at each channel has a maximum of - 60 dBm and a minimum of -105 dBm. Mapping is performed by using two methods, namely Inverse Distance Weight (IDW) and Spline Interpolation (SI) methods. The paper proposes an algorithm to select the appropriate wireless communication paths from the planned locations. The mapping results indicate the appropriate area to place the transmitter and the receiver devices in a wireless data transmission network. With good placement, it is expected that measurements using wireless transmitters have minimum disruptions. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
