A novel image steganography algorithm in wavelet domain is presented using the iterative blending method. Using this algorithm, we can hide a secret image with 256 gray levels into another carrier image. By taking full advantage of the masking characters of human visual system, a JND (just noticed difference) threshold matrix is given pixel by pixel in the image subbands taking into account the texture and the luminance content of carrier image. The secret image is divided into tow matrixes to make the gray level no more than 16. Then the matrixes are adaptively embedded into the wavelet coefficients of the carrier image by iterative blending. The carrier image and the blending parameter can act as the private keys. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides good transparency and is robust to some extent. The technique also can be used in digital watermarking and other digital application areas. © 2005 IEEE.

This paper describes an algorithm to segment the 3D nuclear envelope of HeLa cancer cells from electron microscopy images and model the volumetric shape of the nuclear envelope against an ellipsoid. The algorithm was trained on a single cell and then tested in six separate cells. To assess the algorithm, Jaccard similarity index and Hausdorff distance against a manually-delineated gold standard were calculated on two cells. The mean Jaccard value and Hausdorff distance that the segmentation achieved for central slices were 98% and 4 pixels for the first cell and 94% and 13 pixels for the second cell and outperformed segmentation with active contours. The modelling projects a 3D to a 2D surface that summarises the complexity of the shape in an intuitive result. Measurements extracted from the modelled surface may be useful to correlate shape with biological characteristics. The algorithm is unsupervised, fully automatic, fast and processes one image in less than 10 seconds. Purpose - The paper aims to present a research on the impact of the stabilization process of a thin metallic layer (Ni-P) produced on a ceramic surface (Al2O3) by means of electroless metallization on its electric parameters and structure. On the basis of the research conducted, the existence of a relationship between resistance (R) and the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of the test structure with a Ni-P alloy-based layer and the temperature of stabilization was proposed. Design/methodology/approach - Metallic Ni-P layers were deposited on sensitized and activated substrates. Metallization was conducted in an aqueous solution containing two primary ingredients: Sodium hypophosphite and nickel chloride. The concentration of both ingredients was (50-70) g/dm3. The process lasted 60 min, and the metallization bath pH was kept at 2.1-2.2, whereas the temperature was maintained at 363 K. The thermal stabilization process was conducted in different temperatures between 453 and 623 K. After the technological processes, the resistance and TCR of the test structures were measured with a micro ohmmeter. The composition and the morphology of the resistive layer of the structures examined was also determined. Findings - The dependence of the resistance on the temperature of the stabilization process for the temperature range 553 to 623 K was described using mathematical relationships. The TCR of test resistors at the same thermal stabilization temperature range was also described using a mathematical equation. The measurements show that the resistive layer contains 82.01 at.% of nickel (Ni) and 17.99 at.% of phosphorus (P). Originality/value - The results associate a surface morphology Ni-P alloy with the resistance and TCR according to temperature stabilization. The paper presents mathematical relationships that have not been described in the literature available. © 2017 Emerald Publishing Limited.

In this paper we propose an adaptive filter based on assumption that the error is a t-distributed with λ degree of freedom. The optimal system is updated by using the LMS-like algorithm. When the input is impulsive signals, the convergence of the algorithm with small λ is faster than when large λ is used. Simulation results also show that the convergence of the proposed method is faster than other LMS-variant that has been earlier proposed.

Many researchers have worked on the ex- planation of AdaBoost＇s good experimental results in theory. Some work give an upper bound of generaliza- tion error in terms of the margin distribution function, while Breiman gave a sharper generalization error bound based on minimum margin. He also developed the arc- gv algorithm to maximize the minimum margin, then made the minimum margin larger than AdaBoost. How- ever, its empirical results are even worse than AdaBoost. Therefore, is the minimum margin bound not practi- cal？ This paper gives a new concept called Equilibrium margin （Emargin） and proves a new generalization er- ror bound using Emargin, which is always better than minimum margin bound. In addition, we show Emargin is a good indicator of generalization. Then, we conduct experiments showing that the Emargin of AdaBoost is larger than arc-gv, but the generalization error of Ada- Boost is usually better.

Graphene based devices are impelling the innovations for the final implementation of flexible electronic devices within new perspectives of the future technological developments. Specially, GNRFET has placed in a superior position due to the existence of finite bandgap and the ability to tune the same by a simple way (of varying the width). Therefore, we have explored the properties of GNRFET by using some analytic approach with a view to assess its efficacy as a Field Effect Transistor (FET). Reduction of a 2-dimensional (2D) Poisson equation to a one-dimensional (1D) form in an effective manner is the main of focus of this method. The approach was used to study the influence of geometrical and electrical parameters on I-V characteristics of the GNRFET. The results of this work pave the way for the possibilities for device engineers to characterize GNRFETs based on the requirements of a specific device application. The resulting convergence of the inflection point is an interesting feature of our *** existence of a critical voltage, beyond which the current rises in its value with temperature, is an pre-eminent feature of our GNRFET model. © 2022 IEEE.

Ferroelectric oxide superlattice with complex topological structures such as vortices, skyrmions, and flux-closure domains have garnered significant attention due to their fascinating properties and potential applications. However, progress in this field is often impeded by challenges such as limited data-sharing mechanisms, redundant data generation efforts, high barriers between simulations and experiments, and the underutilization of existing datasets. To address these challenges, we have created the "Polar Topological Structure Toolbox and Database" (PTST). This community-driven repository compiles both standard datasets from high-throughput phase-field simulations and user-submitted nonstandard datasets. The PTST utilizes a Global–Local Transformer (GL-Transformer) to classify polarization states by dividing each sample into spatial sub-blocks and extracting hierarchical features, resulting in ten distinct topological categories. Through the PTST web interface, users can easily retrieve polarization data based on specific parameters or by matching experimental images. Additionally, a Binary Phase Diagram Generator allows users to create strain and electric field phase diagrams within seconds. By providing ready-to-use configurations and integrated machine-learning workflows, PTST significantly reduces computational load, streamlines reproducible research, and promotes deeper insights into ferroelectric topological transitions. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

The field of computer vision has witnessed significant advances in object detection with real-world applications ranging from autonomous driving to surveillance systems. Due to its importance in a number of areas, such as dietary evaluation, food industry automation, and health monitoring, food identification has attracted a lot of interest in this context. The suggested approach makes use of the capabilities of two cutting-edge object recognition models, YOLOv8. Because of its speed and accuracy, YOLOv8 is a great option for real-Time food detection in a variety of settings. Our most recent YOLOv8 model is called BiTrains-YOLOv8. Supervision techniques are applied to improve the combined model's performance even more. This increases overall detection accuracy and helps the algorithm to more effectively generalize to novel food items. Based on the detection results, 96.7% of an average of detection accuracy, 96.4% for precision, 95.7% for recall, and 96.04 % for F1-Score were obtained. The results show that the combination of YOLOv8 and BiTrains-YOLOv8 improved model techniques, significantly improved the performance of food detection, outperforming the previous methods in terms of accuracy, speed and robustness. Furthermore, the paper analyzes potential real-world applications of the system, such as calorie counting, dietary assessment and smart kitchen automation. Implications of advanced intelligent food detection in healthcare, the culinary industry and personalized nutrition are also discussed. In conclusion, the results provide valuable insights for pushing the boundaries of food recognition technology, with promising applications in various fields that promote healthy lifestyles and improve efficiency in food-related processes. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid growth of weblog provides a rich resource for social community mining. In this paper, we put forward a novel research problem of recommendation under the circumstance of a blog system. Most of the previous works usually focus on recommendation for registered blogger, few present a comprehensive investigations on recommendation for potential bloggers who have not provided personalized information in blog system. With the rapid popularity of social networks in recent years, non-personalized recommendation has become one of big challenges in different scenarios. We present a algorithm on the inhomogeneous graph to calculate the important value of an object, and then combined with similarity value to do recommendation. The algorithms which we proposed learn multi parameters in the random walk model, which is also very important in searching problems. The experimental results show that our proposed approaches can achieve good performance. © 2008 IEEE.
