Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) are increasingly deployed in security-sensitive domains, but their parallel architectures introduce vulnerabilities enabling side-channel attacks to steal sensitive data. Recent works have shown feasible timing, contention, power, and access pattern side-channel attacks against cryptographic implementations, randomness protections, and other workloads on GPUs, highlighting risks of intellectual property theft, cryptographic key extraction, and spying. However, existing academic defences remain inadequate in systematically protecting real-world shader execution. This research aims to design, develop, and evaluate a secure GPU shader execution framework incorporating runtime monitoring, anomaly detection, and response mechanisms for commercial GPUs. The methodology involves implementing and assessing the framework against simulated side-channel attacks on shader benchmarks;this can help secure emerging GPU adoption in sectors like finance, healthcare, and government against rising data breaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Graphics processing units (GPUs) have become ubiquitous in computing systems, from personal devices to data centres. Their massively parallel architecture delivers tremendous performance for graphics and general-purpose workloads. However, the open nature of GPUs also introduces security vulnerabilities that can be exploited through side-channel attacks. Defending against such threats often incurs performance overhead, creating tradeoffs between security and speed. This article examines recent research analysing and mitigating GPU side channel attacks while maintaining acceptable performance and presented a multi-faceted defence strategy combining compiler transformations, runtime monitoring, and microarchitectural techniques to balance security and performance. The methodology integrates formal threat models, empirical side-channel evaluations, and rigorous benchmarking. It implements and evaluates prototypes demonstrating security improvement with minimal impact on representative workloads. The results provide promising directions for practical GPU security defences. © 2024 IEEE.

Resolving coreference and bridging relations in chemical patents is important for better understanding the precise chemical process, where chemical domain knowledge is very critical. We proposed an approach incorporating external knowledge into a multi-task learning model for both coreference and bridging resolution in the chemical domain. The IoT has made it possible to connect and control more devices than ever before, opening up new avenues for efficiency and creativity. However, new problems have emerged as a result of this explosion of linked devices, notably concerning the security and privacy of personal information. To meet these difficulties, we provide a new approach within the context of "Whispering Widgets and Wireless Wonders: Ushering in a New Era for the Internet of Things." Our suggested approach safeguards data during transit and storage by using state-of-the-art cryptographic methods including Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Furthermore, we use blockchain technology to guarantee the immutability and transparency of data by creating a public and unchangeable ledger of all data exchanges. Our research shows that our suggested strategy for securing IoT data is superior to more conventional methods. We test how well our system protects sensitive information, keeps data intact, keeps users anonymous, and how efficient it is overall. When compared to conventional approaches, the "Proposed Method" regularly performs better, demonstrating its strength and applicability for protecting IoT data. High security is guaranteed by the combination of ECC and AES, and data integrity is improved by blockchain technology. Furthermore, our approach places a premium on user privacy, giving people more say over their data inside the IoT ecosystem. Finally, we believe that our suggested solution is a major advancement in achieving more data security and privacy in the IoT context. To the problems caused by the proliferation of linked gadgets, it provides a thorough and effective answer. Our approach prioritizes security, data integrity, and user privacy to let people and businesses get the benefits of the Internet of Things (IoT) without compromising on data privacy or security. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025

In recent years, object detection has emerged as a crucial task in various real-world applications, including security surveillance, autonomous vehicles, and robotics. However, traditional object detection models face numerous challenges, such as inefficient image processing, inadequate resource utilization, and a failure to consider the different criticality of input images, making it difficult to apply these models for timely inferences in practical applications. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a novel object detection framework, called Paste-and-Cut, that utilizes two techniques, image merging (paste) and RoI patching (cut), to optimize resource utilization and improve object detection performance. Additionally, our approach incorporates a dynamic merge size and canvas size decision mechanism to adapt to varying object detection environments. Experimental results obtained from experiments conducted with the MOT dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in achieving real-time object detection with improved detection accuracy and without generating any deadline miss. As such, Paste-and-Cut provides a promising solution for efficient and accurate real-time object detection in multi-camera scenarios.

Language models are a key component of input methods, because they provide good suggestions for the next candidate input word given previous context. Recurrent neural network (RNN) language models are the state-of-the-art language models, but they are notorious for their large size and computation cost. A main source of parameters and computation of RNN language models is embedding matrices. In this paper, we propose a sparse representation-based method to compress embedding matrices and reduce both the size and computation of the models. We conduct experiments on the PTB dataset and also test its performance on cellphones to illustrate its effectiveness. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Bomb removing is a very challenging but valuable task in urban anti-terrorist or military applications. With the rapid development of technologies of intelligent robots in these years, the intelligence and security level of bomb removing process can be largely improved by using the autonomous mobile robotic systems. In this paper, a dual-arm autonomous mobile robot for bomb removing is proposed which is designed by Tsinghua University. The system design is introduced which mainly consists of the structure and multimodal perception module of the designed system. Besides, manipulation performance is one of the most important functional attributes in bomb removing. Therefore, the manipulation skills for the bomb removing applications are analyzed which adopt the idea of primitives, and skill decomposition and synthesis. Moreover, a knowledge graph for bomb removing is established in the paper and a knowledge based method for the manipulation skills learning is presented. Finally, simulations and experiments have been carried out in the platform to validate the proposed method in the paper and designed bomb removing mobile robot. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. Numerous studies have proposed various methods and applications for facial recognition. In camera-equipped environments, these methods can easily identify real faces. However, recognizing faces on printed or Portrait Drawing becomes more complex. In other words, real faces are three-dimensional, and while algorithms can sample feature values, identifying portrait drawing face on paper is relatively more challenging. This study evaluates and compares the effectiveness of various facial recognition techniques on paper-based images, including Haar-cascade, MTCNN, and Dlib 68 feature points. © 2024 IEEE.

Issues with coreference resolution are one of the most frequently mentioned challenges for information extraction from the biomedical literature. Thus, the biomedical genre has long been the second most researched genre for coreference resolution after the news domain, and the subject of a great deal of research for NLP in general. In recent years this interest has grown enormously leading to the development of a number of substantial datasets, of domain-specific contextual language models, and of several architectures. In this paper we review the state-of-the-art of coreference in the biomedical domain with a particular attention on these most recent developments. © 2021 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Flight operation intention confirmation is an important function of intelligent avionics systems. In order to meet the needs of flight operation intention confirmation, a flight operation intention confirmation method based on continuous visual gaze is proposed. In this method, the CCNN+Transformer algorithm is used to calculate the visual gaze landing point of the flight operator, and then determine whether the visual gaze landing point of the flight operator is located on the confirmation button. Continuous visual gaze on the confirmation button for 1.5 seconds is considered as confirmation completion. Through 100 sets of flight operation intention confirmation experiments conducted by 2 flight operators, it was shown that the success rate of this method reached 98%, demonstrating good results. © 2023 SPIE.
