This article analyzes the transmission line characteristics of plasmonic hybrid metal insulator metal(HMIM) wave-guide, circular ring resonator(CRR) based dual-band band-pass filters with two transmission poles in both pass-bands in the optical regime using coupled line feed. The transmission line characteristics of an HMIM waveguide, such as characteristic impedance(Z_(PV)), effective refractive index(n_(eff)) and propagation length(L_(spp)), have been obtained by using full wave simulation.

One of the largest and fastest-growing industries globally is e-healthcare. Digital medical imaging constantly evolves, advancing from standard computed tomography to powerful multi-dimensional imaging. This medical imaging forms patients’ real-time electronic health records (EHR), making it a prime target for hackers. To counter cipher-attacks, it is necessary to secure medical imaging. This research thoroughly analyses the properties of DNA chaos-based digital medical image encryption and reviews various algorithms. Researchers have performed several statistical and differential metrics, conducting simulation experiments to determine which methodology provides the best security outcome. The paper concludes by analysing significant advances in medical image encryption and emphasising future challenges. Drivers can classify today's driving into two main types of experiences, manual and automatic. A manual vehicle gives the driver power to choose whatever gear they want, while an automatic vehicle chooses the bicycle gears for the driver's convenience. It applies not only to automobiles but also to bicycles as well. This study aims to create an electronic transmission system for bikes using an Arduino as its brain and a motor to control its transmission. It will give the riders the freedom to choose the gears they want to use while automatically selecting bicycle gears for their convenience. In this study, the researchers have created an electronic transmission system for the bicycle with both manual and automatic modes. The transmission accuracy was measured and compared to calculated data by conducting actual ride tests on the device. Overall, the system produced outstanding results with 98% accuracy using a simple statistical analysis method. The device works just like it was programmed using Arduino, and it should improve the quality and safety of riding the bike compared to conventional bike shifters. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The growth of 5G communications has created a demand for advanced wearable and flexible antennas due to supporting the high speeds, low latency, and capability of mechanical deformation conditions such as bending and conformability. In this paper, the design and analysis of a defected ground structure (DGS)-based ring slot antenna for N77 (3.3–4.2 GHz) and N78 (3.3–3.8 GHz) frequency bands is demonstrated. The antenna is made of an RT/Duroid 5880 substrate and has a loss tangent (tan δ) of 0.0009 and dielectric constant (Εr) of 2.2. A DGS-based ring slot microstrip antenna is simulated, tested, and experimentally characterized on different body locations (leg, chest, and hand) along with bending, and their results are presented accordingly. The magnitude of S11 (|S11|) of the proposed antenna is −26.81 dB at resonant frequency of 3.45 GHz, with the impedance bandwidth of 22 MHz (3.486 GHz to 3.508 GHz), peak gain of 6.27 dBi, and radiation efficiency of 85.02%. The simulated specific absorption rate (SAR) for 1 g and 10 g human body tissues is 0.263 W/Kg and 0.076 W/Kg, respectively. The total volume of the antenna is 0.58λ0 × 0.58λ0 × 0.00595λ0 (at 3.5 GHz). The proposed antenna is suitable for 5G wearable devices. © 2024, Electromagnetics Academy. All rights reserved.

Improve cardinality with two-dimensional unipolar (optical) orthogonal codes for multiple access interference

Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is one of the promising technologies to be implemented using all-optical networks. The OCDMA system performance is substantially determined by the particular encoding codes. Due to the different transmitter and receiver design considerations, selecting the right code family and code dimension is critical. In this research, 2D codes based on permutation vectors' (PV) codes are presented to overcome the Multiple Access Interference (MAI) problem and system complexity. Consequently, the research work focused on two-dimensional unipolar codes to mitigate the probability error and cardinality of the optical CDMA system. A fast wavelength-hopping/time-spreading (FWHTS) is introduced as an encoding technique. The FWHTS is used for code construction design, and it achieves cardinality in upper bound theory without sacrificing good auto-and-cross correlation properties. Accordingly, hybrid codes with serial elimination interference receivers are presented to estimate the error probability of 2D optical codes. The proposed method is simulated using Python software. The performance metrics are flexibility, bit rate, minimum temporal length, computational complexity, cardinality and wavelength. The proposed method is compared with the existing 2D balanced incomplete block design (BIBD) technique and multidiagonal (MD) codes. The performance of the proposed method is approximately 4% higher than these existing methods. Subsequently, in the future work, a SAC-OCDMA code construction design shall be presented and the decoding techniques can be introduced, which can reduce the receiver noise and other phase intensity induced noise, respectively. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

The present study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of lanthanum(La^(3+))-doped calcium nanoferrites(CaLa_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4):x=0.025,0.050,0.075 and 0.100)using the sonochemical *** techniques were employed to analyze the effect of La^(3+)infusion,Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of active A_(1g),T_(2g)and E_g modes in the CaLa_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)nanoferrite,indicating the formation of an active ferrite *** introduction of La^(3+)doping results in a significant increase in the band gap energy,rendering the nanoferrites insulating(3.23-3,57 eV).At higher frequencies,the impedance studies reveal minimal losses and better AC conductivity,pointing to improved dielectric *** higher frequencies,the Q-factor of La-doped calcium nanoferrites shows lower electromagnetic *** M-H curve exhibits ferromagnetic behavior,with La^(3+)-doped calcium nano ferrites displaying a saturation magnetization ranging from 12.72 to 18.10 emu/*** incorporation of La^(3+)also induces enhanced electrical polarization,leading to notable dielectric loss and increased absorption of electromagnetic ***,these CaLa_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)nanoferrites demonstrate potential as effective microwave absorbers across a wide frequency range,with significant shielding absorption observed at 8.8-9.1 GHz.

In this paper, the development of hybrid algorithms for the detection of Pneumonia Disease from the human X-Ray's images of the Chest Structure is presented along with the simulated & experimental results. w.r.t. the background scenario, Pneumonia, a potentially fatal lung infection caused by various viral infections, poses diagnostic challenges due to its similarities with other lung disorders when analyzing chest X-ray images. Early and accurate detection through chest X-rays is vital for prompt intervention, complication prevention, and reduced hospital stays. w.r.t the methods employed, this paper presents a novel approach utilizing hybrid algorithms for pneumonia detection from chest X-ray images, combining convolutional neural networks (CNN), VGG16, ResNet152V2, and Gradient Descent optimization. The method involves preprocessing X-ray images to enhance features, followed by feature extraction using both traditional machine learning and deep learning models. Pre-trained models ResNet152V2 and VGG16 are integrated to improve overall system performance. w.r.t. the results, the system automatically extracts features from chest X-ray images using CNNs, enhanced by Gradient Descent optimization to better discriminate between pneumonia patients and healthy cases. Experimental results indicate that the proposed hybrid algorithms significantly outperform traditional approaches, achieving high accuracy in pneumonia detection. Concluding remarks says the study demonstrates the potential of deep learning and hybrid algorithms for more precise and efficient pneumonia diagnosis in clinical settings, highlighting their role in enhancing early and effective medical interventions. These results highlight the potential of hybrid algorithms for improving the diagnosis of pneumonia from chest's X-ray's images, thereby aiding in early and effective medical intervention. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial neural networks (ANN), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and ensemble learning (EL) are four outstanding approaches that enable algorithms to extract information from data and make predictions or decisions autonomously without the need for direct instructions. ANN, ML, DL, and EL models have found extensive application in predicting geotechnical and geoenvironmental parameters. This research aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of the applications of ANN, ML, DL, and EL in addressing forecasting within the field related to geotechnical engineering, including soil mechanics, foundation engineering, rock mechanics, environmental geotechnics, and transportation geotechnics. Previous studies have not collectively examined all four algorithms—ANN, ML, DL, and EL—and have not explored their advantages and disadvantages in the field of geotechnical engineering. This research aims to categorize and address this gap in the existing literature systematically. An extensive dataset of relevant research studies was gathered from the Web of Science and subjected to an analysis based on their approach, primary focus and objectives, year of publication, geographical distribution, and results. Additionally, this study included a co-occurrence keyword analysis that covered ANN, ML, DL, and EL techniques, systematic reviews, geotechnical engineering, and review articles that the data, sourced from the Scopus database through the Elsevier Journal, were then visualized using VOS Viewer for further examination. The results demonstrated that ANN is widely utilized despite the proven potential of ML, DL, and EL methods in geotechnical engineering due to the need for real-world laboratory data that civil and geotechnical engineers often encounter. However, when it comes to predicting behavior in geotechnical scenarios, EL techniques outperform all three other methods. Herein,we describe a simple and efficient method to build C@MoSe_(2)@CNT composites that exhibit good electrochemical performance as anode materials for sodium-ion *** protocol uses commercially available and cheap carbon nanotubes(CNT)as the conductive *** selenide(MoSe_(2)),in-situ-synthesized from Mo-ethylene glycol(poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG,M_(n)≈200))complexes,grows along the CNT with a discontinuous morphology,which creates multiple channels for the insertion of Na^(+).Meanwhile,PEG-C provides a thin carbon coating layer to increase *** PEG-200-2-C/MoSe_(2)/CNTat room temperature,the storage at 2 A g^(-1)is 426 m A h g^(-1)after 500 cycles and 212 m A h g^(-1)after 3,000 *** with pure MoSe_(2),density functional theory calculations indicate that the Na^(+)diffusion barrier in the MoSe_(2)of C@MoSe_(2)@CNT effectively decreases from 0.91 to 0.72 e V,hence promoting the reversibility of the Na^(+)storage.

Solar power generation forecasting plays a vital role in optimizing grid management and stability, particularly in renewable energy-integrated power systems. This research paper presents a comprehensive study on solar power generation forecasting, evaluating traditional and advanced machine learning methods, including ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, Support Vector Regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Physics-based Models. Moreover, we propose an innovative Enhanced Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model, which incorporates Weather Modulation and Leveraging Prior Forecasts to enhance prediction accuracy. The proposed model is evaluated using real-world solar power generation data, and the results demonstrate its superior performance compared to traditional methods and other machine learning approaches. The Enhanced ANN model achieves an impressive Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.116 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 36.26%. The integration of Weather Modulation allows the model to adapt to changing weather conditions, ensuring reliable forecasts even during adverse scenarios. Leveraging Prior Forecasts enables the model to capture short-term trends, reducing forecasting errors arising from abrupt weather changes. The proposed Enhanced ANN model showcases its potential as a promising tool for precise and reliable solar power generation forecasting, contributing to the efficient integration of solar energy into the power grid and advancing sustainable energy practices. © 2024 – IOS Press.
