In this investigation, we explored the corrosive effects of date palm seed extracted from natural sources and biomass residues on mild steel in a solution of 0.5 M hydrochloric acid (HCl), employing a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches. Our objective was to scrutinize the interaction of the inhibitor with the metal surface, analyze experimental data, and elucidate how the structural characteristics of the inhibitors influence the corrosion process. The experimental results indicated that as the immersion time and temperature increased, the inhibitory effectiveness declined. Notably, the highest level of inhibition occurred when the concentration of date palm seed extract (DPSE) reached 1100 ppm, showcasing peak inhibitory effects of 95.8% and 97.8% through potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques, respectively. Additionally, an analysis using X-ray diffraction (XRD) was conducted to scrutinize the chemical composition of the mild steel's surface. The adsorption data were evaluated using adsorption isotherms, revealing that DPSE adhered to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm on the mild steel surface. The Langmuir model exhibited the highest linear regression coefficient value and a slope close to unity. The Gibbs free energy () values suggested that the protection afforded by DPSE involved physical and spontaneous absorption. Examination of the results pertaining to the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) indicated that the carboxyl (COOH) group and the C=C bond were the principal regions exhibiting elevated electron acceptance activity. These components were found to be crucial in the adsorption process on the surface of iron (Fe). © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Convolutional neural network is a class of deep neural networks that has made a great breakthrough in image recognition. CNNs are commonly used to detect and classify visual applications so that they are frequently embedded in image classification tasks. The common trend nowadays is to accelerate the processing of CNNs in order to use them in real-time applications such as image classification and object recognition. This paper presents the implementation of ZynqNet CNN architecture on FPGA. The full ZynqNet CNN layers are implemented on FPGA to reach the max acceleration and make full use of all DSP units. Several optimizations techniques are used in different design phases to improve processing speed, utilized area, and power consumption. In addition, the proposed hardware accelerator achieves 15.6 fps for ZynqNet CNN at maximum frequency. The proposed architecture runs at two different frequencies of 100MHz and 125MHz, and is implemented on Virtex-7 FPGA. © 2021 IEEE.

Zero-day attacks present a significant security threat to vehicular networks, exploiting vulnerabilities at both software and hardware levels within such systems that remain undiscovered. Mitigating these threats is essential to ensuring the safety and security of vehicular systems. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a good candidate for anomaly detection of zero-day attacks within vehicular networks because it can handle highdimensional data and effectively distinguish between normal and abnormal patterns in complex and dynamic environments. A trained SVM on the normal operation data of in-vehicular network can identify flag deviations, thus making it effective in the detection of any previously unknown attack patterns, which is a common behaviour of zero-day attacks. In this paper, we introduce an anomaly detection method called “ZeroCAN” which models the behaviour of every single electronic control unit on the network with a separate SVM and a set of high-level features that capture the timing and data payload aspects of CANbus traffic. This approach achieves an anomaly detection rate of over $\mathbf{9 9 \%}$ and a false positive rate below $\mathbf{0. 0 1 \%}$ during normal operation in most cases.

Media influence's public opinion and decision-making today. Advertisements especially affect audience perceptions, actions, and purchases. A comprehensive data library on commercials and their performance is needed to understand how media affects society. Ad content, placement, and performance are stored in a data warehouse-based ad archive. The archive can evaluate marketing campaigns and discover media trends. Ad servers, social media platforms, and media monitoring tools may build the data warehouse-based ad archive. A dimensional data model helps retrieve and analyze data. Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes, and data visualization tools may access the archive. Media academics, marketers, and politicians may study the media environment using the data warehouse-based ad archive. Media academics may utilize the collection to study the marketing campaigns, media trends and media's influence on society. The archive may help advertisers analyze their ad campaigns, optimize media placement, and understand their target demographic. Policymakers may use the archive to monitor media outlets' advertising compliance and assess policy changes' media landscape effects.

The pandemic that has not ended has an impact on changing the educational paradigm. Existing conditions demand to continue to use virtual learning. During the epidemic, this study will examine students' demand for interactive multimedia in virtual learning. The interviews reveal that the media that teachers provide in virtual learning during this pandemic has limits. Data was gathered through interviews and questionnaires given to teachers and students. The student requirements questionnaire reveals that interactive multimedia is the most effective instructional medium for pupils. To assist doctors more effectively in clinical diagnosis, a lightweight system using Phonocardiogram (PCG) for early detection of Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) has been developed. It employs short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and a Maxout residual network (MaxResNet) for heart valve disease recognition. Results from 10-fold cross-validation show a 99% recognition accuracy with only 0.16M parameters. Compared to Karhade et al.’s approach, this method achieves similar accuracy while reducing parameter usage by 87%. Additionally, it achieves real-time performance on Raspberry Pi, taking only 6 ms to recognize 1.1 seconds of PCG recordings.

In basketball game, players need to learn how to take a next appropriate action by judging various situations with surrounding players through team practice. Such decision-making capabilities in individual practice with virtual reality (VR) technologies can significantly improve the efficiency of team practice. This paper proposes a VR-based basketball team practice learning system which provides VR environments similar to the actual team practice environments by arranging players in a virtual space Proto-type application for smartphones has been developed for 3D virtualization accuracy evaluation where the smartphone is used for team practice to sense the distance between the player and surrounding VR players This paper describes the evaluation results of 3D virtualization accuracy measured by the experiments. © 2021 IEEE.

This study proposed a keyword recognition of microphone feed-in, achieving the effect of allowing users to control the real-time mixer system intelligently. The proposed system structure includes a front-end circuit to capture voice and Mel-scale Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) features in conjunction with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm. The testing results show that the lightweight CNN model achieves a keyword recognition accuracy rate of 96.4%.
