The paper presents a new way of generating image captions using the pre-trained models, llama-2 and COCO-DetR. The COCO-DetR model was used for object detection while llama-2 was used for captioning the detected objects. To evaluate the system’s accuracy in terms of contextual relevance, and ability to create meaningful captions, the authors compared the outputs of the proposed model with the gold standard COCO dataset. The proposed model demonstrates promising results but fails to address limitations such as language model hallucinations and dependency on the multiple numbers of object detection models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The design and implementation of efficient routing architectures is a critical aspect of modern communication systems. This paper proposes a modified VLSI-based router architecture that is optimized for high-speed data transfer and low power consumption. The proposed architecture utilizes advanced routing algorithms and state-of-the-art VLSI design techniques to achieve a high level of performance and scalability. The performance of the design is evaluated through simulations. The simulation was carried out in a software called Xilinx and it is written using VHDL language. Design contains blocks called Arbiter, Cross bar and FIFO. The results show that the proposed architecture is able to achieve high throughput while maintaining a high level of scalability. This work is a significant step towards the development of high-performance communication systems. © 2023 IEEE.

In a typical SoC, communication between the sub-blocks is very crucial which dictates the entire SoC performance. As many of the resources are shared in a SoC, the protocol used for communication should have some characteristics which would help in increasing the overall performance of the SoC. AMBA (Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) is one such protocol which characterizes the specifications of the communication bus. The special feature of the bus is that the design, implementation and testing of the sub-blocks in a SoC using AMBA is technology independent. In this paper, a novel bus controller for AMBA is implemented by employing two methodologies namely, Data Flipping and Instruction Decoding. Modelsim from Mentor Graphics and NC launch from Cadence are used for functional simulation. Genus from Cadence is used for synthesis at 180nm. Area, power and timing reports are analyzed after synthesis. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents a reconfigurable 2-stage cascode Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) designed for the 3.5 GHz 5G NR band (n78), implemented in UMC $0.18 \mu \mathrm{m}$ -CMOS. The 2-stage cascode topology is selected for its high gain, while body-biasing technique optimizes linearity. It can dynamically switch between High Gain (HG) and High Linearity (HL) modes by adjusting bias voltages, accommodating both weak (HG) and strong (HL) signals, thus ensuring a wider dynamic range. To reduce Noise Figure (NF), the LNA employs a High Pass Filter (HPF) noise-matching structure in both stages as well as a high-Q external input matching network. Simulated results exhibit a 19.8 dB peak gain at 3.21 GHz (17.11 dB at 3.5 GHz) and a minimum NF (NFmin) of 3.46 dB (HG). At 3.5 GHz, it achieves an Input Third Order Intercept Point (IIP3) of 10.64 dBm and an Input 1-dB Compression Point (IP1dB) of −8.712 dBm (HL). At a 1.1V supply, the DC power is 14.4mW (HG) and 15.08mW (HL). Comparison with literature shows superior gain (HG) and linearity (HL), and a competitive NF and DC power, making this LNA design a promising choice for 5G applications.

As per the Moore's Prediction in 1965, the transistors count on a single chip will be doubled after every 18 months. Although, current integrated circuit technologies are posing limitations to this law. Further, device feature size scaling also introduces certain limitation on CMOS technology due to occurrence of short channel effects in nano-meter regime. FinFET based devices are found to be very promising candidate in deep submicron region. This paper aims to investigate the various performance characteristics of different topologies such as 6T,7T,8T and ST10T FinFET based static random access memory (SRAM) cells at 18nm channel length. It has been observed that read power in 8T SRAM cell is significantly reduced by 2.065 times as compared to ST10T SRAM cell. The write delay of 8T SRAM cell is improved by 1.29 times as of 6T SRAM cell. This is also worth noticeable that read stability and write stability are improved by factor of 1.25 times and 1.08 times respectively as of conventional 6T SRAM cell. © 2021 IEEE.

In the fifth and beyond (5G/B5G) communication, wireless networks are evolved towards offering various services of different use cases and, therefore, need to span a wide range of requirements. While different services will be supported at the same time, radio resource management needs to consider the different requirements. In addition, as wireless systems are capable to support multi-connectivity, radio resource allocation becomes more challenging. In this context, we introduce a many-to-many matching game, and develop a distributed radio resource allocation algorithm supporting multi-connectivity. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach improves the QoS levels of UEs by up to 14.9% considering their service requirements.

With development of 5G and Beyond communication technologies and the recent achievements in autonomous driving, technical solutions to improve road safety have attracted great attention. In this paper, we present a collision avoidance system implemented using a 1/10 scale vehicle, as a research platform for autonomous driving connected a vehicular network. While the collision avoidance system exploits data fusion to make decisions relevant to predicting potential collision events, the effectiveness of the fusion of data obtained from in-vehicle sensors and vehicular communication is evaluated within a testbed environment.
