This study addresses the high operational costs and inefficiencies associated with electric boilers used for sanitary hot water in South African university residences. With electricity tariffs rising due to the increasing cost of coal-based energy, traditional electric boilers remain energy-intensive and unsustainable. This research proposes retrofitting a 2000L (24kW) electric boiler with a Hybrid Solar-Assisted Air Source Heat Pump (HSAASHP) system, combining solar collectors and air source heat pump technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. The methodology involved designing and installing an HSAASHP system in the Mannheim Ladies’ Residence at the Central University of technology, Free State, and deploying a Data Acquisition System (DAS) to monitor its performance. Comparative analysis of the baseline electric boiler and the retrofitted system revealed significant energy savings: annual electricity consumption dropped from 151,128.9 kWh to 41,036.8 kWh, with an Energy Factor (EF) ranging from 3.0 to 5.2, higher in summer. Techno-economic analysis demonstrated the system's viability, with a payback period of 2.19 years, a break-even point on the 3 rd year of the HSAASHP water life span, and a 15-year net present value of R10,503,958. The investment yielded an annualized Return on Investment (AROI) of 14.39% and a profit margin of 87%. The HSAASHP system offers a cost-effective and energy-efficient solution, addressing the pressing need for sustainable water heating in resource-constrained environments. This approach not only enhances energy efficiency but also provides a scalable model for reducing energy costs and environmental impact in similar settings.

This work presents the development of a Dual axis solar tracker along with an IoT-based fully automated data logger and a computer program for the prediction of solar irradiance. The proposed work aims to measure, record, analyse the performance of the solar irradiance all day without the use of traditional methods and any human effort and further use the stored data for the solar irradiance forecasting for the forth-coming months by using eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost) machine learning algorithm. The hardware includes a pair of Arduino Uno microcontroller, a current sensor, voltage sensor, relay and Wi-Fi module along with the two servo motors acting as actuators, Light- Dependent Resistor (LDRs) are used as light detection sensors which detects the solar rays. Further, the motor drives the solar panel towards the position of maximum incoming light. The IoT platforms 'Thingspeak' and 'IFTTT' are used to record and track performance of the solar irradiance respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper examines the overall performance of the Daffier-Hellman key trade algorithm for the relaxed transmission of data in cryptography networks. Two types of Daffier-Hellman key exchanges are considered: the traditional scheme without elliptic curves and the current model utilizing elliptic curves. The parameters and their respective performance of both schemes are compared. In addition, it is located that the elliptic curve-primarily based Daffier-Hellman set of rules offers better overall performance than the conventional one, with better security and a drastically shorter key-status quo time. An in-depth analysis of the velocity and protection of both algorithms is supplied. The consequences of the have look indicate that the elliptic curve model of DaffierHellman is the fine-acting set of rules for secure records switches in cryptography networks. Moreover, the paper additionally discusses the safety problems and challenges arising from implementing the Daffier-Hellman key trade algorithm and indicates some possible solutions. Ultimately, the paper also offers an end on the overall performance of DaffierHellman Key's alternate set of rules regarding pace, safety, and reliability. © 2023 IEEE.

Segmentation of the right ventricle (RV) holds significant clinical implications for the assessment of cardiac function in conditions such as pulmonary hypertension. Precise delineation of the right ventricle from cardiac magnetic resonance images (CMRI) is crucial in the diagnosis of various cardiac conditions. It provides clinicians with essential information for patient evaluation, treatment planning, and subsequent rehabilitation strategies. Currently, the development of fully automated segmentation models for the right ventricle heavily relies on deep learning techniques, necessitating meticulous manual annotation of CMRI data to achieve optimal segmentation results. However, the labor-intensive nature of labeling CMRI data requires significant medical expertise and consumes considerable time and resources. In response to these challenges, this study proposes a semi-supervised multi-scale segmentation approach for the right ventricle in CMRI. The method leverages unlabeled data to enhance segmentation accuracy while minimizing the reliance on annotated data. Experimental findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in accurately delineating the right ventricle from CMRI datasets.

In developing nations that are densely populated, the need for a secure centralized portal for tracking infant inoculation and keeping a record of the same is necessary to increase the life expectancy rate of the nation. The paper proposes an architectural model of an infant inoculation tracking system that will eliminate all the discrepancies in the existing system. Eventually, it would help the government bodies, medical institutions, and primarily the parents to keep a paperless digital record of the procured and scheduled vaccines. Abstract: This paper presents an innovative framework for enhancing credit fraud detection in banking by combining Autoencoder (AE), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, and the Walrus Optimization Algorithm (WOA). The framework begins with the Autoencoder, which is utilized to pre-process high-dimensional transactional data. This step effectively reduces noise, extracts key features, and retains essential information, ensuring that the data fed into the model is of high quality. The LSTM network is then employed to capture the temporal dependencies and sequential patterns present in transaction data, enabling the model to detect fraudulent activities based on the order and timing of events. To further enhance performance, the Walrus Optimization Algorithm (WOA) is used to fine-tune the hyperparameters of the AE-LSTM model, optimizing both detection accuracy and computational efficiency. The integration of these techniques offers a comprehensive and scalable solution to the challenges of detecting fraudulent transactions in large, dynamic datasets typical in modern banking systems. By leveraging the strengths of each component—AE for data preprocessing, LSTM for sequential analysis, and WOA for optimization—the proposed model achieves significant improvements in fraud detection capabilities. This approach not only improves the detection of fraud in real-time banking transactions but also provides a more efficient and effective alternative to traditional fraud detection methods, addressing both accuracy and processing speed in a unified framework. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2025.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a substantial part of the Internet of Things (IoT) utilized for cluster and routing path applications to monitor computational fields. The major challenge of the Firefly Algorithm (FA) is its sensitivity to parameters such as the attractiveness coefficient and the randomization factor. Selecting appropriate parameter values can be challenging and may require fine-tuning. The proposed method utilizes energy levels in the IoT to efficiently manage routing data transmission, enhancing information transfer through the cluster router. Aquila Optimization (AO) often involves trade-offs between different parameters. Improving one aspect may negatively impact another, and finding the right balance can be difficult. Although the proposed FA and AO method exhibit high performance compared to existing methods such as Black Widow Optimization (BWO), Fixed Parameter Tractability (FPT), and Multipath Link Routing Protocol (MLRP). The proposed FA and AO method yield high results, achieving a Network Lifetime 1900 rounds, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) of 0.98, and an End-To-End Delay (ETED) of 0.80 ms. These outcomes outperform existing methods in the context of WSNs. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,we propose a transmission scheme for uplink and downlink transmissions,where the fifth generation(5G)low-density parity-check(LDPC)codes are implemented for error *** the proposed scheme,the acknowledgment(ACK)or negative acknowledgment(NACK)feedback information is transmitted along with the payload data by cyclically shifting coded sequence,while the re-transmitted codewords are superimposed(XORed)partially on the current *** distinguished feature of the proposed transmission scheme is that it requires neither extra transmission bandwidth nor extra transmission *** also propose to truncate the error patterns for the purpose of reducing the implementation complexity and reducing the error *** results show that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms conventional LDPC-coded *** the 5G LDPC code with length 1920 at the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)of 1.3 dB,the word error rate(WER)of the data transmitted by the proposed scheme is about 10^(−4),while that of the conventional LDPC-coded transmission is about 10^(−2).

A service function chaining is a location where important computer resources are stored. The hub is designed to support for sensitive applications such as mainframes, servers and server farms, and related computer resources. In addition to those server groups that support mobile network applications, there are other server groups that support network services and network applications. Network services include NTP, Telnet, FTP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, TFTP and NFS. Network applications include IP telephony, video over IP, and video conferencing systems. Some organizational applications are logically organized into multiple layers, which are separated by the functions they perform. In this paper an algorithm was proposed to enhance the service function chaining. It focusSome layers are dedicated to supporting external functions such as client calls or serving web pages or supporting the command line interface (CLI) for applications. In some cases, external functions can be implemented based on the Internet. Other functions handle user requests and convert them into layers that can be understood by layers such as the server or database layer. © 2023 IEEE.
