The technical advancements in modernizing the world in every way possible have increased the usage of power and energy. Due to this, an increase in tariff, decrease in power quality, and frequent blackouts have increased every day because of traditional methods used in transmission lines. The proposed methodology addresses this drawback by offering the usage of advanced energy meters in smart grids and microgrids for efficient transmission of power and energy across every household and industry, improving power quality and reducing the chance of blackouts [1] significantly. This allows both the user and the utility to continuously monitor the energy usage, power factor, power quality, and load usage in real-time, to maintain the load balance in the grid. © 2023 IEEE.

Innovative deep learning models for cancer classification, including VGG-19, DenseNet201, MobileNetV3, ResNet50V2, YOLOv5, and GPT-2, have completely changed the way that doctors diagnose cancer. This study introduces a multi-modal technique for an accurate and speedy cancer diagnosis. With the aid of cutting-edge technology, this system combines object identification (YOLOv5), natural language processing (GPT-2), and picture classification models (VGG-19, DenseNet201, MobileNetV3, ResNet50V2) to provide scientists and medical professionals with a flexible toolkit. It generates thorough reports with tumour images and spots malignant irregularities. Diagnostic accuracy is improved by real-time application, which benefits laboratories by reducing turnaround times and medical practitioners by providing an important decision support tool. Reports with tumour photos enhance the capacity to comprehend results. This study is important because it has the potential to improve cancer detection by using cutting-edge algorithms and models. This research also promises to improve patient care, prediction, and therapy. The practical method presented in this paper ushers in a new age in medical diagnostics by empowering laboratories and doctors. © 2023 IEEE.

Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) MLI have emerged as the preferred choice due to their high quality in output waveforms with low harmonic distortion. However, a key limitation in these inverters lies in the requirement of a dedicated DC source for each bridge. To overcome this challenge, there is a transition towards asymmetrical cascaded H-bridge (ACHB) MLIs, enabling the use of a variable DC source for each bridge. The variability in DC supply is achieved through a high-frequency link. This paper introduces a novel optimized switching technique for asymmetrical cascaded H-bridge (ACHB) MLIs with a single DC input incorporating a high-frequency link (HFL). The effectiveness of the suggested approach in achieving a 27-level asymmetric multilevel inverter is substantiated by experimental outcomes obtained through MATLAB/Simulink simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

The accessibility of non-renewable energy sources will diminish to increment popularity and will be depleted in the near future. Along these lines, it is important to track down the substitute fuel to work the vehicles. As a sustainable power source, solar energy is utilized to make solar charging electric vehicle (SCEV) that is our venture. This kind of vehicle would be fit to supplant conventional ignition engines for ordinary vehicle exercises. The utilization of solar-based energy to control the vehicle takes into account greater appropriateness and a method for utilizing environmentally friendly power energy. Standardization of the vehicle this kind would drastically decrease the harmful emissions delivered by the vehicles and diminish the oil demand. The authors have proposed a photovoltaic (PV) integrated electric vehicle (EV) instead of conventional EV with separate PV/grid/hybrid charging station. Gas leaks and fires present dangers that require detection and decisive action to protect lives and property. This paper specifically proposes cutting-edge sensor technologies with intelligent threshold algorithms and real-time communication capabilities to enhance the safety and well-being of industrial workers by reducing the risk of accidents and injuries, which addresses Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 (good health and well-being). It includes MQ5 and MQ135 gas sensors, a DHT11 temperature sensor, and an IR flame sensor to provide monitoring. The real-time data from the gas sensors is carefully analyzed to trigger alerts at two threshold levels directly linked to gas concentrations, ensuring warnings in case of any risks. If the second threshold is exceeded, indicating the presence of gas, the device activates a safety protocol. An exhaust fan swiftly dissipates any accumulated gas, while a servo motor promptly shuts off the gas supply, effectively preventing any escalation of the situation. An integrated Wi-Fi module will enable communication and notifications through a dedicated smartphone app or web interface to enhance functionality, which enables remote device control and real-time access to sensor data for users. This combination of sensor technologies, intelligent algorithms, and remote accessibility showcases how technology-driven solutions can significantly enhance safety measures. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This study presents a novel solution in the form of a solar-powered water trash collector, designed specifically for deployment in backwaters and smaller water bodies, to address the critical issues of water pollution and waste management. Focusing on the challenges faced by national rivers, including hazardous polymers, plastic waste, and decaying organic matter, the collector operates under IoT-enabled Bluetooth control using mobile application, incorporating a conveyor belt mechanism for efficient waste collection, particularly targeting prevalent plastic debris in freshwater environments. A notable feature of this solution is its integration of solar power, ensuring self-sustained operation and reduced environmental impact, aligning with the imperative for eco-friendly waste management technologies. Bluetooth control enhances adaptability for smaller water bodies, crucial for precise navigation. The core objective is to provide an effective solar-powered water trash collector tailored for backwaters, addressing the escalating waste production due to population growth. Additionally, a comprehensive waste management approach is proposed, facilitated by an Android application for seamless navigation of integrated trash bins. The trend in renewable energy calls for safe peer-to-peer(P2P)energy trading in a microgrid. Blockchain technology (BCT) addresses this by providing a secure, tamper-proof ledger that enables transparent and sustainable energy exchange. This paper explores how smart contracts can make energy trading more efficient for microgrid users while securely recording all transactions for easy verification. The architecture designed for these smart contracts ensures reliable mechanisms such as simultaneous submission of bids, user registration, order placement and sorting, and automatic execution of the trading system. The proposed smart contract-based energy trading system improves energy efficiency and flexibility while supporting decentralized control within the microgrid. BCT directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by promoting this technology, increasing renewable energy in the global energy mix, and improving energy efficiency. Furthermore, BCT supports SDG 9 by creating a resilient and sustainable infrastructure through technological innovation. This paper provides a detailed analysis of the P2P trading scenario, smart contract pseudocode, and visualization of the smart contract implementation in Solidity, aiming to navigate the real-world application of P2P energy markets. © 2024 IEEE.

The introduction of drone technology has transformed a variety of businesses, from surveillance and monitoring to delivery services. However, effective communication among drones is critical for guaranteeing smooth operations, particularly in tough areas. This research study provides a comparative analysis of swarm intelligence algorithms for improving communication in drone networks. The study focuses on comparing the performance of various swarm algorithms in terms of communication count, with impediments represented by forest density ranging from 0 to 50 percent. Performance indicators, notably communication counts, are used to evaluate each algorithm’s success in facilitating drone communication. The major performance statistic is communication count, which is defined as the number of drone interactions. The study tries to determine the most effective swarm intelligence algorithm for drone communication in forested situations by examining how each method’s communication count changes as forest density increases. The discoveries will help to construct stable and communication-efficient drone networks for a variety of applications including forestry, search and rescue, and environmental monitoring. Understanding the impact of forest density on communication and the efficiency of various swarm algorithms provides a way to optimize drone network communication strategies for real-world circumstances. ©2024 IEEE.

Deepfake technology has become a significant problem since it allows for the creationof compelling manipulated videos. This research presents a novel hybrid deepfake detection system that combines the Xception and ResNext networks with a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) model and Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM). Apart from focusing on the temporal and spatial anomalies of deepfakes, our model also includes visual synchronization analysis and physiological signal detection. Extensive experiments are conducted across several datasets, exhibiting cutting-edge performance across various manipulation scenarios. The proposed method achieves good generalization, as they are in real-world circumstances. © 2024 IEEE.

As the application scope of DNNs executed on microcontroller units (MCUs) extends to time-critical systems, it becomes important to ensure timing guarantees for increasing demand of DNN inferences. To this end, this paper proposes RT-MDM, the first RealTime scheduling framework for Multiple DNN tasks executed on an MCU using external memory. Identifying execution-order dependencies among segmented DNN models and memory requirements for parallel execution subject to the dependencies, we propose (i) a segment-group-based memory management policy that achieves isolated memory usage within a segment group and sharded memory usage across different segment groups, and (ii) an intra-task scheduler specialized for the proposed policy. Implementing RT-MDM on an actual system and optimizing its parameters for DNN segmentation and segment-group mapping, we demonstrate the effectiveness of RT-MDM in accommodating more DNN tasks while providing their timing guarantees. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).
