Cloud computing is an emerging paradigm and it has been accepted and researched widely both in industry and academic fields. Instance-intensive workflows are workflows with a great number of concurrent instances;they are typical applications in cloud computing environment. However, cloud resources consist of unreliable servers;it becomes increasingly important to provide reliable scheduling strategy. Considering unreliable cloud resources and QoS requirements of instanceintensive workflows, we propose Trust-drive Minimize Cost Within Deadline (TD-MCWD) scheduling algorithm. On the one hand, the TD-MCWD algorithm staggers deadlines of the large number of concurrent instances of the same nature, expecting to get cheaper and more intensively competitive resources. On the other hand, considering the risk factors on the basis of resource reliability was estimated by trust model, the TD-MCWD algorithm tends to assign the task to the high reliable resource. Simulation experiment shows TD-MCWD algorithm can reduce the rate of delayed instance completion and the average execution cost of successful instance completion. Besides, TD-MCWD has a better load balancing and shows a better performance.

Analysis approaches of reachability decision is fundamental to Petri nets theory; however, the relevant research work in the past cannot always guarantee the correctness of analysis conclusions. This paper firstly reveals the root cause of wrong conclusions, which are drawn in analysis for deadlock of Petri nets based on modified reachability trees (MRT), and then proposes the rectified calculation of the next-state function and some corresponding definitions, which guarantee MRT's usefulness and correctness in analyzing reachability and deadlock of one-place unbounded Petri nets. Finally, a necessary and sufficient condition of MRT's reachability and the theoretical proof are presented. Examples are given to illustrate the method.

As an extension of the singular value decomposition based approaches, a novel metric based on Tucker decomposition for color image quality assessment is proposed in this paper. It extracts both the spacial and chromatic information of a color image with Tucker decomposition. As compared to most of the other existing quality metrics for color images, the key advantage of the proposed metric is that it treats the color image as a whole entity instead of an assembly of three independent visual channels, and thus the interrelation among the different visual channels is well involved. Experimental results on the LIVE Database Release 2 demonstrate that the proposed metric can generally achieve similar or better performance than other metrics.

Booming development in brain science injects new vitality into the reform of teaching methods. Based on the perspective of brain cognition, this article addresses the optimum state for classroom learning- the relaxed alertness. This is a good state of mind combined low threats with high challenges. Specially, the vigilance is estimated by extracting useful electroencephalogram (EEG) information in time-domain, frequency-domain and spatial distribution. It is used as an indicator to judge whether a student is in the optimum state. Focusing on how to achieve that ideal state, this article discusses some new teaching methods, including the use of Baroque music to stimulate alpha brainwave, the design of effective pattern of guiding class to arouse positive emotions of students and the conversion of teaching forms as novel stimuli to heip them improve vigilance and tide over thinking trough. The effectiveness of these methods is verified by the relevant experimental results.
