Circular RNA (circRNA) is an RNA molecule that plays an important role in both pathology and physiology. Accurate identification of associations between circRNAs and diseases is crucial for further physiology research. However, verifying the circRNA-disease associations (CDA) through biological experimental methods is time-consuming. Here, we propose a novel method combines Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) and Adversarially Regularized Variational Graph Autoencoder (ARVGA) to accurately predict CDA. Our model first fuses multi-source information in order to build circRNA similarity, disease similarity and circRNA-disease association matrices. Thereby our model constructs graphs for circRNA and disease respectively and optimize them using a K-means clustering algorithm. We obtain linear features using NMF and non-linear features using ARVGA. Finally, an Extremely Randomized Trees classifier is employed to predict CDA. On the gold standard dataset CircR2Disease, our model achieved a prediction accuracy of 94.8% and an AUC of 0.984 under 5-fold cross-validation. In case study, 19 of top 20 predicted circRNAs associated with Hepatocellular Carcinoma were confirmed in relevant literature. Furthermore, ablation experiment, classifier experiment and independent datasets test fully demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our model. © 2024 IEEE.

Active disturbance-rejection methods are effective in estimating and rejecting disturbances in both transient and steady-state *** paper presents a deep observation on and a comparison between two of those methods:the generalized extended-state observer(GESO)and the equivalent input disturbance(EID)from assumptions,system configurations,stability conditions,system design,disturbance-rejection performance,and extensibility.A time-domain index is introduced to assess the disturbance-rejection performance.A detailed observation of disturbance-suppression mechanisms reveals the superiority of the EID approach over the GESO method.A comparison between these two methods shows that assumptions on disturbances are more practical and the adjustment of disturbance-rejection performance is easier for the EID approach than for the GESO method.

We introduce a multi-view document clustering model called DMsECN (Deep Multi-structure Ensemble Clustering Network), comprising a multi-structure processor and a hybrid ensemble clustering module. Unlike existing models, DMsECN distinguishes itself by creating a consensus structure from multiple clustering structures. The multi-structure processor comprises two stages, each contributing to the extraction of clustering structures that preserve both consistency and complementarity across multiple views. Representation learning extracts both view and view-fused representations from multi-views through the use of contrastive learning. Subsequently, multi-structure learning employs distinct view clustering guidance to generate the corresponding clustering structures. The hybrid ensemble clustering module merges two ensemble methods to amalgamate multiple structures, producing a consensus structure that guarantees both the separability and compactness of clusters within the clustering results. The attention-based ensemble primarily concentrates on learning the contribution weights of diverse clustering structures, while the similarity-based ensemble employs cluster assignment similarity and cluster classification dissimilarity to guide the refinement of the consensus structure. Experimental results demonstrate that DMsECN outperforms other models, achieving new state-of-the-art results on four multi-view document clustering datasets. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Semi-supervised graph domain adaptation, as a branch of graph transfer learning, aims to annotate unlabeled target graph nodes by utilizing transferable knowledge learned from a label-scarce source graph. However, most existing studies primarily concentrate on aligning feature distributions directly to extract domain-invariant features, while ignoring the utilization of the intrinsic structure information in graphs. Inspired by the significance of data structure information in enhancing models' generalization performance, this paper aims to investigate how to leverage the structure information to assist graph transfer learning. To this end, we propose an innovative framework called TFGDA. Specially, TFGDA employs a structure alignment strategy named STSA to encode graphs' topological structure information into the latent space, greatly facilitating the learning of transferable features. To achieve a stable alignment of feature distributions, we also introduce a SDA strategy to mitigate domain discrepancy on the sphere. Moreover, to address the overfitting issue caused by label scarcity, a simple but effective RNC strategy is devised to guide the discriminative clustering of unlabeled nodes. Experiments on various benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of TFGDA over SOTA methods. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

Speech emotion recognition(SER)is an important research problem in human-computer interaction *** representation and extraction of features are significant challenges in SER *** the promising results of recent studies,they generally do not leverage progressive fusion techniques for effective feature representation and increasing receptive *** mitigate this problem,this article proposes DeepCNN,which is a fusion of spectral and temporal features of emotional speech by parallelising convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and a convolution layer-based *** parallel CNNs are applied to extract the spectral features(2D-CNN)and temporal features(1D-CNN)representations.A 2D-convolution layer-based transformer module extracts spectro-temporal features and concatenates them with features from parallel *** learnt low-level concatenated features are then applied to a deep framework of convolutional blocks,which retrieves high-level feature representation and subsequently categorises the emotional states using an attention gated recurrent unit and classification *** fusion technique results in a deeper hierarchical feature representation at a lower computational cost while simultaneously expanding the filter depth and reducing the feature *** Berlin database of Emotional Speech(EMO-BD)and Interactive Emotional Dyadic Motion Capture(IEMOCAP)datasets are used in experiments to recognise distinct speech *** efficient spectral and temporal feature representation,the proposed SER model achieves 94.2%accuracy for different emotions on the EMO-BD and 81.1%accuracy on the IEMOCAP dataset *** proposed SER system,DeepCNN,outperforms the baseline SER systems in terms of emotion recognition accuracy on the EMO-BD and IEMOCAP datasets.

Graph convolutional network (GCN) has been successfully applied in deep clustering on the high dimensional dataset, which is usually processed by extracting the feature and structure information. However, it lacks an effective fusion mechanism of common information between the feature and structure information and does not perform well on the sparse dataset. Therefore, we propose a dual attention-based sparse common deep clustering method(DASCDC). Firstly, we advance a sparse feature representation method with an adversarial loss function to solve the data sparsity problem and improve the discriminator's performance. Then, an information interaction operator is designed to deeply mine the common information and enhance the information fusion capability. Finally, considering the different contribution degrees of various neighbour nodes and information, we promote a dual self-attention mechanism from the node and model levels. Experiment results indicate that the proposed DASCDC algorithm overperforms other state-of-art deep clustering algorithms on non-graph and graph datasets with high dimension and sparsity. © 2022 IEEE.

Software testing is very important in software development to ensure its quality and reliability. As software systems have become more complex, the number of test cases has increased, which presents the challenge of executing all the tests in a limited time frame. Various test case prioritization techniques have been introduced to solve this problem. These methods aim to identify and implement the most critical tests first. In this paper, we propose an implementation of a dynamic test case prioritization strategy to improve software quality by increasing code coverage with special attention to edge case handling. Edge case test prioritization is a technique that improves test efficiency by selecting extreme case scenarios that can reveal critical bugs or unexpected behavior early in development, improving overall software reliability and dependability. In order to prioritize test cases, this paper presents a regression-based method that makes use of machine learning algorithms. The approach leverages previous performance data to optimize regression testing efficiency by examining variables like test time and execution status. Performance evaluations, when compared against industry standards and cutting-edge techniques, show how effective these algorithms are at correctly prioritizing test cases and identifying faults. This study offers simplified yet reliable solutions for regression testing optimization by shedding light on the efficacy of regression algorithms, such as Random Forest and decision trees. © 2024 IEEE.

The Smart Power Grid (SPG) is pivotal in orchestrating and managing demand response in contemporary smart cities, leveraging the prowess of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Within the immersive SPG environment, the ubiquitous deployment of smart meters stands as a testament to their paramount importance in the realm of vigilant monitoring and oversight. These smart meters are installed on high-tension electricity lines and transmit information about electricity outages and other issues to the utility center. To access services from utility centers, smart meters need to communicate securely over a public channel, even though the network itself is insecure. However, potential attacks from adversaries ( Ad) can exploit this communication. Therefore, protecting this communication is of utmost importance. Several privacy-preserving authentication protocols designed for SPG have been introduced in the literature. Nevertheless, a significant number of these protocols exhibit vulnerabilities to diverse security attacks. This article introduces a lightweight and anonymous authentication protocol specifically designed to address these concerns in the SPG environment. Our protocol ensures both security and efficiency, surpassing other comparable protocols in terms of its lightweight nature. By employing both formal and informal analysis, we showcase the robustness of our protocol against significant attacks while remaining lightweight. The proposed protocol provides added security features and incurs 23.8879% lower computation cost than related protocols. Consequently, our protocol is highly suitable for implementation in the SPG system. © 2020 IEEE.

To solve the problem that a large number of noise labels lead to the reduction of the efficiency of existing aggregation Algorithmic efficiency and the difficulty of extending existing methods to the privacy protection framework, a noise label oriented privacy protection Federated learning aggregation algorithm PP-ASNL is proposed. This algorithm is mainly divided into two parts: a client-side noise label sample detection model and a server-side model rating aggregation mechanism. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has higher model accuracy and Rate of convergence than the existing methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Graph convolutional neural network (GCN) is a powerful deep learning framework for network data. However, variants of graph neural architectures can lead to drastically different performance on different tasks. Model comparison calls for a unifying framework with interpretability and principled experimental procedures. Based on the theories from graph signal processing (GSP), we show that GCN's capability is fundamentally limited by the uncertainty principle, and wavelets provide a controllable trade-off between local and global information. We adapt wavelet denoising filters to the graph domain, unifying popular variants of GCN under a common interpretable mathematical framework. Furthermore, we propose WaveThresh and WaveShrink which are novel GCN models based on proven denoising filters from the signal processing literature. Empirically, we evaluate our models and other popular GCNs under a more principled procedure and analyze how trade-offs between local and global graph signals can lead to better performance in different datasets. © 2023 ACM.
