The Cantang Grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus-lanceoulatus) is a mating of the female Tiger Grouper fish (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) and the male Kertang grouper fish (Epinephelus lanceoulatus). However, in farming activities, the Cantang Grouper fish can be affected by a VNN infection. One way to deal with the VNN infection is by giving recombinant nano-vaccine from the microalga Chlorella Vulgaris. This study aims to determine the effect of recombinant nano-vaccine administration of the microalgae Chlorella Vulgaris on the growth of the fish weight, length, and eye tissue in the Cantang grouper fish (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus lanceolatus) infected with Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN). The method used in this study is experimental. The test results showed that the administration of the recombinant C. vulgaris (p-PerCv) vaccine affected the growth in length and weight of the Cantang grouper, this was because the growth in length and weight of its from the treatment group was significantly different from the control group (0.039<0.05). Known by the ANOVA test and also has a different effect on the level of damage to eye tissue both damage to hypertrophy, vacuolization, and necrosis. The results of the Tukey test showed that the treatment that had a significant effect was the T1 treatment (treatment of healthy fish +33l of recombinant C. vulgaris vaccine (p-PerCv) +8.5l of Chitosan nanoparticles).

One of the causes of increasing greenhouse gases is the increase in CO2 emissions produced from both the industrial sector, transportation sector, and settlement sector. The settlement sector also contributes to CO2 emissions based on household activities. Research on carbon footprint from settlement activities is currently focusing on carbon footprints from household energy use both electricity and heat energy for cooking and have not taken into account the activities of vehicle fuel use, domestic waste, and water consumption. This paper aims to conduct a literature study on matters relating to the method of estimating the carbon footprint of settlement activities and influencing variables. The results of this study are a framework for estimating the more comprehensive carbon footprint of housing activities by adding private vehicle fuel consumption, waste generation, and water consumption in addition to the use of fuel for cooking and electricity use. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2019.

Energy balance analysis study for the production process of biodiesel needs to be done to find out whether a production process of biodiesel activity has a surplus energy or minus energy. This study aims to analyse the balance of energy of the plantation of palm, production of palm oil, and production process units of biodiesel with the life cycle assessment in Banyuasin-Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the largest energy input in the plantation of palm, production of palm oil, and production process units of biodiesel sequentially is the use of urea as N-fertilizer, electricity, and methanol. The value of NEB and NER in the production process of palm biodiesel sequentially is 5871 MJ and 1.17. Finally, the production process of palm biodiesel in Banyuasin area has a positive energy balance. The activity of production of palm biodiesel is proper to operate because it produces an energy surplus. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2019.

Forests are not only the most predominant of the Earth's terrestrial ecosystems,but are also the core supply for essential products for human ***,global climate change and ongoing population explosion severely threatens the health of the forest ecosystem and aggravtes the deforestation and forest *** genomics has great potential of increasing forest productivity and adaptation to the changing *** the last two decades,the field of forest genomics has advanced quickly owing to the advent of multiple high-throughput sequencing technologies,single cell RNA-seq,clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)-mediated genome editing,and spatial transcriptomes,as well as bioinformatics analysis technologies,which have led to the generation of multidimensional,multilayered,and spatiotemporal gene expression *** technologies,together with basic technologies routinely used in plant biotechnology,enable us to tackle many important or unique issues in forest biology,and provide a panoramic view and an integrative elucidation of molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying phenotypic changes and *** this review,we recapitulated the advancement and current status of 12 research branches of forest genomics,and then provided future research directions and focuses for each ***,a shift from simple biotechnology-based research to advanced and integrative genomics research,and a setup for investigation and interpretation of many spatiotemporal development and differentiation issues in forest genomics have just begun to emerge.

Some argue that complementing climate change mitigation measures with solar radiation management (SRM) might prove a last resort to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. To make a socially responsible decision on whether to use SRM, it is important to consider also public opinion, across the globe and particularly in the Global South, which would face the greatest risks from both global warming and SRM. However, most research on public opinion about SRM stems from the Global North. We report findings from the first large-scale, cross-cultural study on the public opinion about SRM among the general public (N = 2,248) and students (N = 4,583) in 20 countries covering all inhabited continents, including five countries from the Global South and five ‘non-WEIRD’ (i.e. not Western, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, and Democratic) countries from the Global North. As public awareness of SRM is usually low, we provided participants with information on SRM, including key arguments in favour of and against SRM that appear in the scientific debate. On average, acceptability of SRM was significantly higher in the Global South than in the ‘non-WEIRD’ Global North, while acceptability in the ‘WEIRD’ Global North was in between. However, we found substantial variation within these clusters, especially in the ‘non-WEIRD’ Global North, suggesting that countries do not form homogenous clusters and should thus be considered individually. Moreover, the average participants’ views, while generally neither strong nor polarised, differed from some expert views in important ways, including that participants perceived SRM as only slightly effective in limiting global warming. Still, our data suggests overall a conditional, reluctant acceptance. That is, while on average, people think SRM would have mostly negative consequences, they may still be willing to tolerate it as a potential last resort to fight global warming, particularly if they think SRM has only minor negative (or even positive) impact

PM_2.5 poses serious health risks, worsening respiratory and cardiovascular conditions and increasing chronic disease risk. Weather conditions and emission sources affect their composition. PM_2.5 samples are collected from Lumphini and Thonburirom Parks in Bangkok from January 30 to February 8, 2024, and analysed its chemical components and the oxidative potential (OP) using the dithiothreitol (DTT) assay. A correlation analysis was conducted to assess the contributions of PM_2.5 components to and its OP in both parks. The enrichment factor and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to identify potential sources, while multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis quantified their contributions. Additionally, the study investigates the cancer and non-cancer risks associated with heavy metals. Lumphini Park has a mean PM_2.5 concentration slightly higher than Thonburirom Park. Both parks show a higher concentration of organic carbon (OC) in their PM_2.5 levels. Additionally, Thonburirom Park exhibits a higher volume-normalized OP (DTT_v) of PM_2.5 than Lumphini Park, suggesting that inhaling PM_2.5 may induce redox activity and oxidative stress. In Lumphini Park, DTT_v strongly correlate with OC, elemental carbon (EC), and metals, while in Thonburirom Park, it correlates with metals and secondary organic carbon (SOC). PCA identifies primary sources of PM_2.5 as mixed combustion sources (including vehicle emissions and biomass burning), industrial emissions, secondary aerosol (SA) formation, and road dust resuspension. The MLR analysis indicates that mixed combustion sources dominate PM_2.5 concentration in Lumphini Park, while Thonburirom Park is primarily affected by industrial emissions and SA formation. Cr is notably enriched in both parks, indicating significant anthropogenic sources. Furthermore, both parks exceed the acceptable cancer risk threshold

Background: Although emerging evidence suggests that PM2.5 is linked to neurological symptoms (NSs) via neuroinflammation, relevant studies are scarce. This study aimed to investigate the risks and excess costs of hospital admission for five NSs—fatigue, headache, dizziness, convulsion, and paralysis—attributable to long-term exposure to PM2.5 in New York State, ***: We analyzed the New York Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) from 2010 to 2016. A Bayesian hierarchical model with integrated nested Laplace approximations was performed to estimate the risks and excess costs of hospital admission for NSs due to long-term exposure to PM2.5 at the county ***: A 1 µg/m3 increase in lag 0–1 years PM2.5 was associated with an increased risk of headache and convulsion by 1.06 (1.01, 1.11) and 1.04 (1.01, 1.06), respectively. The excess hospital admission cost for five NSs attributable to lag 0–1 years PM2.5 above the new World Health Organization guideline (annual standard: 5 µg/m3) was $200.24 (95% CI: 6.00, 376.96) million during 2011–2016, recording the highest for convulsion ($153.73 [95% CI: 63.61, 244.19] million).Conclusions: This study provides quantitative estimates of risks and excess costs for NSs attributable to long-term PM2.5 and suggests that policies that reduce long-term PM2.5 concentration in accordance with the new WHO air quality guidelines can yield substantial health and economic benefits related to NSs in the New York State population. © 2023, The Authors.
