Spatial analysis of field vulnerability concerning landslide in Southern Semarang Environment

The study was done at Semarang, Central Java. The purpose of this study is to determine the variation of field susceptibility to landslide in the city of southern Semarang. Vulnerability includes physical, social, economic, and environmental ones. Each region has varying levels, types and characteristics of vulnerability. The results show that the vulnerability level of landslide is divided into 4 parts according to vulnerability indicator in Perka BNPB number 2 of 2012. The index categories were also modified into five categories from very low (1,00 to 1,40), low (1,41 to 1,80), moderate (1,81-2,20), high (2,21-2,40) and very high (2,41-3,0). Southern Semarang has moderate and high degree of vulnerability. The average vulnerability rate is in the high category with an index value of 2,20. The lowest average vulnerability is owned by Gunung Pati sub-District, while the highest vulnerability is owned by Candisari sub-District.

This research discusses about safety and health occupational control in Bangka Ocean KIP Timah 16 Units using some risk management methods. The methods are Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Purpose of the research is to explain safety and health occupational in KIP Timah 16 Unit it is for get the improvement of productivity work, production, welfare and comfortability workers and achievement of zero accident. The type of the research is descriptive. There are two data had collected. They are primary and secondary data. Primary data get from interview with the employees and secondary data get from K3 documents in the enter company of PT. Timah UPLB and KIP 16. Based on result of research can get some conclusions. First, to use method JHA and JSA for identification and control occupational accident.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a heterogeneous disease that develops through diverse pathophysiological processes and molecular mechanisms that are often specific to cell type. Here, to characterize the genetic contribution to these processes across ancestry groups, we aggregate genome-wide association study data from 2,535,601 individuals (39.7% not of European ancestry), including 428,452 cases of T2D. We identify 1,289 independent association signals at genome-wide significance (P < 5 × 10) that map to 611 loci, of which 145 loci are, to our knowledge, previously unreported. We define eight non-overlapping clusters of T2D signals that are characterized by distinct profiles of cardiometabolic trait associations. These clusters are differentially enriched for cell-type-specific regions of open chromatin, including pancreatic islets, adipocytes, endothelial cells and enteroendocrine cells. We build cluster-specific partitioned polygenic scores in a further 279,552 individuals of diverse ancestry, including 30,288 cases of T2D, and test their association with T2D-related vascular outcomes. Cluster-specific partitioned polygenic scores are associated with coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and end-stage diabetic nephropathy across ancestry groups, highlighting the importance of obesity-related processes in the development of vascular outcomes. Our findings show the value of integrating multi-ancestry genome-wide association study data with single-cell epigenomics to disentangle the aetiological heterogeneity that drives the development and progression of T2D. This might offer a route to optimize global access to genetically informed diabetes care.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of fibrillated cellulose (FC) on hand-sheet properties and to evaluate the possibility of using FC as a dry strength agent for papermaking. The FC or low grade MFC (microfibrillated cellulose) was produced by grinding hardwood bleached kraft pulp slurry with/without carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). The grinding pass number for the production of FC was adjusted to three. It was found that paper strength was significantly increased with addition of FC. The FC produced with CMC showed much higher strength properties than that without CMC. With addition of 5% FC produced with CMC, tensile energy absorption (TEA) was increased 215% and folding strength was improved 670%. The results showed that fibrillated cellulose (FC) produced with CMC can be used as a good dry strength agent for papermaking.

Preliminary Study of Smart Regional Waste Recycling in Boyolali, Central Java, Indonesia

Based on its functional aspects, the area is divided into two, namely urban and rural areas. Problems related to solid waste are not spared from that areas. However, problem-solving solutions cannot be generalized between the two areas because of the different characteristics of the community. This study took place in Boyolali District, Central Java, consisting of 192 rural areas and 75 urban areas. Judging from the characteristics of the population, most people in rural areas do not consider the waste management system that is already important. The main reason is the mindset of the community and applicable waste retribution. Rural communities prefer to burn all their waste on their own land rather than having to pay for waste transportation or recycle their waste. Unlike the case with people in urban areas who have followed the pattern of solid waste management carried out by the government. In addition, there are several community groups in urban areas that have begun to actively recycle waste even its still use conventional technology. Therefore, the application of smart waste management, especially smart waste recycling were already applied in districts which closed to the capital region.

Blazars' Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) consists of two components. In a leptonic interpretation, the low-energy bump is due to synchrotron radiation from accelerated electrons while the high-energy one is produced via inverse Compton scattering of the electrons by lower-energy photons. These come from the synchrotron radiation produced by the same population of electrons emitting at low energy (Synchrotron Self-Compton, SSC, scenario) or from an external photon field. According to hadronic models, the high-energy emission is due to processes involving the protons in the source. Multiwavelength (MWL) long-term monitoring of blazars is key since the SED modelling over time allows the study of the radiative processes during different source states. The blazar 1ES 1959+650 represents an ideal laboratory for that, being bright at all wavelengths and located at low redshift (z=0.047) allowing its detection up to TeV energies. Also, it underwent some flaring episodes in the past. Long-term monitoring of 1ES 1959+650 is ongoing under the coordination of the MAGIC Collaboration. During the last years, the source is experiencing its lowest state ever reached, mainly at very high energies (VHE;E > 100 GeV). Extracellular vesicles (EVs) large-scale production is a crucial point for the translation of EVs from discovery to application of EV-based products. In October 2021, the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV), along with support by the FET-OPEN projects, “The Extracellular Vesicle Foundry” (evFOUNDRY) and “Extracellular vesicles from a natural source for tailor-made nanomaterials” (VES4US), organized a workshop entitled “massivEVs” to discuss the potential challenges for translation of EV-based products. This report gives an overview of the topics discussed during “massivEVs”, the most important points raised, and the points of consensus reached after discussion among academia and industry representatives. Overall, the review of the existing EV manufacturing, upscaling challenges and directions for their resolution highlighted in the workshop painted an optimistic future for the expanding EV field. © 2022 The Authors. Using a PCR-DGGE method to analyze diazotrophic diversity in soil and root nodules of Casuarina in the Sihu area

Casuarina spp. are major windbreak species in coastal forests of Taiwan. With great ability for rapid growth and adaptability to adverse environmental conditions, they enhance soil stabilization and provide protection and rehabilitation for coastal areas. Many factors may limit the reproduction of Casuarina in coastal areas such as infertile soil, drought, salt stress, litterfall, and weeds. In addition, nitrogen is generally considered one of the major nutrients in plant growth, and Casuarina plants can obtain nitrogen sources through association with Frankia via root nodules. In order to understand the interaction between diverse diazotrophic diversity and different test sites of Casuarina spp. determine whether it is the diversity level of diazotrophic on healthy and on declining Casuarina spp., or the number of nitrogen-fixing bacteria in the nodules of Casuarina spp., direct amplification of the nifH gene for a polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) analysis with the primer pair polF-GC/polR was applied in this study. The results demonstrated that there were 2 groups of nitrogen-fixing bacteria collected from these root nodule samples that appeared on the PCR-DGGE profiles. Whether Casuarina stands are on the decline or not, a high diversity of diazotrophic community has been observed among all test sites. Therefore, this study shows that the declining Casuarina is not related to the diazotophic diversity.
