Traditional simulation modelling of dynamic processes aimed at domain-specific simulation with specific simulation objectives. Studies of recent years uncovered drawbacks of domain-specific simulation models for dynamic processes which include unreliable simulation results and questionable robustness of simulation model. Generic agent-based simulation modelling frameworks tried to bridge the gap being a platform to simulate different domain-specific simulation models. However, the efforts were not continued, most probably due to the main gap of having domain-specific models developed for each specific simulation objectives were not addressed. Thus, the aim of this research to bridge the gap by having a self-adaptive simulation model. Dynamic processes from three different domains. For instance, transportation, education and security were used as benchmark of self-capability of the simulation model. Key parameters, self-adaptive algorithms were formulated and implemented through simulation model. The self-adaptive simulation model was able to construct simulation model and generate replicable results based on different combinations of key parameter inputs entered into the simulation system. This achievement opened the possibility of having a self-adaptive simulation modelling of dynamic processes for three different domains. © 2021 IEEE.

The task of creating a cheap and flexible device for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) was the goal of this project. The device is intended to operate as part of a previously defined architecture. By using a very simple and cheap microprocessor, and relying on an existing communications infrastructure - the mobile phone network, the task was accomplished to the point that a functional system now exists. GPRS provides us with a relatively cheap, continuous connection to the Internet, and a web interfac. hides complexity from the user.

This paper discusses the workload utilization dissemination for grid computing. The CPU is a well-known resource item and it is an integral part in most literatures while other RI's may include memory, network and I/O overhead. The selection of resource variables and the number of RI's involved will result in different definitions of the workload. Various combination of computer RI's have been explored for studying the style of usage, techniques embedded and their capabilities. In contemplating the exploration, this study successfully describe the pattern of workload dissemination through the usage of the RI's and elicited the enhancement fac.ors for systems performance. Among these fac.ors are the manipulation of computer RI's, type of workload information with method of use, the workload dissemination direction along with implementation method and using certain algorithm to come out with new integrated scheduling with load balancing capability. A combination of these fac.ors will help in developing an optimized scheduling or load balancing algorithm.

In this paper, we consider the Bayesian approach for representation of a set of documents. In the field of representation of a set of documents, many previous models, such as the latent semantic analysis (LSA), the probabilistic latent semantic analysis (PLSA), the semantic aggregate model (SAM), the Bayesian latent semantic analysis (BLSA), and so on, were proposed. In this paper, we formulate the Bayes optimal solutions for estimation of parameters and selection of the dimension of the hidden latent class in these models and analyze it's asymptotic properties.

This paper provides a brief development roadmap of the neural network sensitivity analysis, from 1960's to now on. The two main streams of the sensitivity measures: partial derivative and stochastic sensitivity measures are compared. The partial derivative sensitivity (PD-SM) finds the rate of change of the network output with respect to parameter changes, while the stochastic sensitivity (ST-SM) finds the magnitudes of the output perturbations between the original training samples and the perturbed samples, in statistical sense. Their computational complexities are compared. Furthermore, how to evaluate multiple parameters of the neural network with or without correlation will be explored too. In addition, the differences of them in the application of supervised pattern classification problems are also discussed. The evaluations are based on three major applications of sensitivity analysis in supervised pattern classification problems: feature selection, sample selection and neural network generalization assessment ST-SM and PD-SM of the RBFNN will be used for investigations.

In this paper, we present the results of a comparative analysis of Atomic Broadcast algorithms. The analysis was done by using an analytical method to compare the performance of five different classes of Atomic Broadcast algorithms. The five classes of Atomic Broadcast algorithms are determined by the mechanisms used by the algorithms to define the delivery order. To evaluate the performance of algorithms, the analysis relies on contention-aware metrics to provide a measure for both their latency and their throughput. The results thus obtained yield interesting insight into the performance tradeoffs of different Atomic Broadcast algorithms, thus providing helpful information to algorithms and systems designers.

In this study, the possibility of a new tracking system for the elderly is analyzed by simulation of signal intensity distribution and its experiments. In the method, a personal handy-phone system (PHS) is applied as an information network to track the elderly. It is important that an electronic marker is carried. This is done by miniaturizing the marker. A reduction of the output power of the marker is effective for its miniaturization. In this paper, a case of 1 mW is simulated and analyzed by experiment. If the relay station of PHS detects a signal from a handy electronic marker, the elderly can be tracked whilst strolling. Signals can be detected in residential areas.

This paper describes a design of an associative memory array processor that can be used in the acquisition and processing of ultrasonograph images. The major concept is to design a parallel architecture that reduces task's execution time by analyzing multiple parts of the image concurrently. The architecture constitutes a distinctive type of single-instruction stream, multiple-data stream machine that is built around content-addressable associative memory slabs, that allow parallel access of multiple memory words. The basic building block of this architecture is a one-pixel processing element, which can perform the standard load (data acquisition) function and also contains some special comparison logic to enable its content to be compared with an external data. Several image processing operations are implemented in parallel, among them: component labeling, size filtering, pattern centralization, and pattern recognition. The proposed novel architecture can label specific regions into the image and isolate them intelligently. It is also capable of storing templates that may be considered as references for similar cases. The system is able to perform learning process and extract features from several input patterns and store the reference pattern in a slice. Moreover, the system is capable of comparing an input image with a pre-stored template during recognition process. The proposed architecture is of interest because it speeds up the recognition process and helps radiology specialists to write their reports confidently.

This paper proposes to distribute "tainted data" to protect the original image data from illegal copying. Here, any image is intentionally tainted. The tainted image has less quality of image than original one, so that we can distribute the tainted image free. Another important definition of the "image tainting" is that the tainted image dynamically restored on viewer's eye. This means that viewer can perceive the original image, while the tainted image is displayed on viewer's PC. As a pilot study on image tainting, this paper discusses a "brightness modulation scheme".

Grid computing is the combination of computer resources from multiple administrative domains to compute a complex and time consuming computational problems whereas data Grids address data intensive applications that deal with the evaluation and mining of large amounts of data in the terabyte and petabyte range. By having large number of data in a complex computing structure such as grid requires a good data management protocol. In this paper, Triple Quorum Replication (TQR) protocol was introduced for grid environment and a comparative study of data availability with Enhanced Diagonal Replication 2D Mesh (EDR2M) Protocol and Arbitrary 2D Structured (A2DS) Protocol are implemented. A simulation of Triple Quorum Replication (TQR) protocol was developed using Java and results have proven that the TQR has higher data availability compare to EDR2M even though the number of nodes are increasing.
