This research aims to introduce an innovative algorithm for processing point cloud data, a key technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Point cloud data, which is used to accurately represent real-world objects and environments, is often noisy due to environmental factors, which affects the accuracy and reliability of the data. The proposed algorithm effectively solves the noise problem to achieve high accuracy in data analysis and information extraction. The framework also combines the HNSW (Hierarchical Navigable Small World) index and the DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) clustering algorithm for efficient data retrieval and management in large data sets. These tools can be applied to various domains and have demonstrated robust performance in experiments. Therefore, this research has the potential to drive innovation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and is expected to serve as a practical tool for accurate data analysis and information extraction from large data sets. © 2023 IEEE.

This article is a development of soil moisture measurement systems of low-cost sensors installed in remote planting areas using Internet of Things (IoT). There are 3 sets of measurement systems that it separates installed in remote areas. The correlation equation is applied to convert the electric signal from measured the soil moisture by comparing soil moisture from the laboratory the gravimetric water content method. The soil moisture is measured continuously for 1 minute, every 30 minutes. When the data sent finish, the system work on sleep mode to save energy. The moisture value is calculated as the average data, then is sent to the storage system via a LoRaWAN wireless network. Three measured soil moisture values are sent to the memory card as well as keep into the google drive in the cloud system via the GSM wireless, and displayed on the NETPIE Dashboard. Furthermore, the energy from the solar system is employed in this measuring system having high-performance battery. Therefore, this automated instrumentation measurement of soil moisture content using IoT can be extremely useful determining plant growth, environmental, and agricultural applications and other applications. © 2021 IEEE.

The influence of aging in salt chamber on strength of aluminum – CFRP single lap joints

Aluminum - composite adhesive joints are used in many technical fields, e.g. in the automotive, aviation, and construction industries. They are exposed to mechanical as well as environmental loads. The paper presents laboratory results for samples aged in the Weiss Technik SC 450 salt chamber. Aging of samples was done for four periods: 7, 14, 21, and 28 days. In addition, reference samples that were not exposed to salt spray were also tested. The tests were carried out on a total of 25 samples. Two-component “Distal Classic” epoxy adhesive was used to make the adhesive joint. The article analyzes both the strength of the joints and the energy needed for damage. As a result of research, it was found that after the first week of the samples being in the chamber, the force loss is almost 50%. The paper also presents macroscopic images of the surface after damaging the joints, which shows that the adhesive layer does not provide much protection against corrosion in the joint lap.

Cold spray process has been demonstrated to be an attractive additive manufacturing technology to develop freeform and coatings out of temperature-sensitive materials by high-velocity particle impact. However, because of lower bonding strength and inhomogeneous residual stress field distribution, the fatigue performance of cold sprayed deposition couldn’t satisfy the requirement in many engineering condition. In present work, we proposed a novel and promising approach to recover the fatigue performance of cold sprayed repairing components by two laser beams modulation, taken 7075 Al alloy as research object. In the treatment, one laser is used during CS process to irradiate the impact location via laser-induced thermal effects, by which the bonding mode is transformed from mechanical bonding to metallurgical bonding, thereby improving the bonding strength. And another laser is used as a post treatment to optimize the residual stress distribution by the mechanical effects of laser-induced ultrahigh shock wave below water confinement. Under such circumstances the fatigue performance of cold sprayed repairing Al samples is successfully brought back to a wrought/cast condition. Our work demonstrates that this combination of CS technology and laser process presents a wide range of possibilities for the further development of advanced additive manufacturing technology. © 2022, The Authors. The reuse of existing architectural solutions is a key enabler for the optimization of engineering of industrial production systems with respect to cost, time, and quality. In order to achieve systematic reuse of architectural solutions within the design process of specific systems, the standard “VDI 3695” determines the use of reference architectures as one possible option. Often, within the development of industrial production systems, individual aspects and specific requirements need to be regarded, which may not be fully represented by a reference architecture. In order to create specific system architectures based on reference architectures an approach is needed that considers a mix of existing and newly defined architecture content, which must be integrated in the process of designing system architectures. Therefore, within this paper, an approach for the creation of system architectures based on a reference architecture is presented, with the goal of supporting the engineering of such production systems.

In order to support accelerating the diffusion of innovations in high value manufacturing related to enabling flexible mass customization, this paper presents a research-based maturity model for forecasting the speed of innovation diffusion from ideation to market saturation. The model provides an early stage applied research view of (groups of) “game changing” variables, which accelerate diffusion of innovations to significantly reduce financial uncertainty and minimize the time to derive value from the original idea. The model is applied to multiple case studies related to the repurposing and customization of existing mass manufacturing infrastructures and processes to meet novel requirements. Case studies include among others a reference model based on a literature review, the diffusion of 3-D printing technology in manufacturing, the diffusion of novel cement manufacturing technology and the manufacturing of intensive care ventilators during the Covid-19 pandemic. The diffusion of innovation model applied is based on diffusion of innovation principles founded in the research of Everett Rodgers, the Bass Diffusion Curve and aligned to recent advances in living (eco-) systems theory. Special emphasis is placed on determining not only the relevance of “known-known” success factors for rapid innovation diffusion, but also on identifying “unknown-unknown” game changers enabling the required changes at pace. Key findings are that “game changing” factors for the innovations are primarily the interdependent availability of budget and resources to achieve market saturation, urgency of need shared by all participants, observability of impact (value creation) and compatibility with existing ways of work. Critical as well is population of all diffusion web roles with unique individuals. Further research is suggested regarding the dependency of assessed variable (groups) and the integration of Technical Readiness Level phases into the forecasting model.

Based on the mixing ratio design of the cement-clay composite powder mixed mortar,in this article, the 28d strength was early presumed by the 7d strength;by the method of mathematical statistics, different regression equations were established and the results were compared,which indicated that exponential equation had a better stability;the early presumption of 28 day strength of cement-clay composite powder Mixed Mortar provided a scientific basis for engineering construction. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
