Multifactorial Optimization (MFO) and Evolutionary Transfer Optimization (ETO) are new optimization challenging paradigms for which the multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization system (MOPSO) may be interesting despite limitations. MOPSO has been widely used in static/dynamic multi-objective optimization problems, while its potentials for multi-task optimization are not completely unveiled. This paper proposes a new Distributed Multifactorial Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (DMFPSO) for multi-task optimization. This new system has a distributed architecture on a set of sub-swarms that are dynamically constructed based on the number of optimization tasks affected by each particle skill factor. DMFPSO is designed to deal with the issues of handling convergence and diversity concepts separately. DMFPSO uses Beta function to provide two optimized profiles with a dynamic switching behaviour. The first profile, Beta-1, is used for the exploration which aims to explore the search space toward potential solutions, while the second Beta-2 function is used for convergence enhancement. This new system is tested on 36 benchmarks provided by the CEC’2021 Evolutionary Transfer Multi-Objective Optimization Competition. Comparatives with the state-of-the-art methods are done using the Inverted General Distance (IGD) and Mean Inverted General Distance (MIGD) metrics. The recurrent neural network is generally utilized in an assortment of areas, such as pattern recognition, natural language processing and computational learning. Time series prediction is one of the most challenging topics for many years due to its application in finance and decision making. This article centers chiefly on the methods and techniques of forecasting future prices of two stocks: IAM. PA and ORA. PA. An experimental investigation is grounded on two years of historical information. Furthermore, the statistics of the stocks and the predictions are made for 22 days in advance. The prediction performance compares three approaches of the recurrent neural network: Elman recurrent neural network in the first stage, Long Short-Term Memory recurrent neural network for the next phase, and Gated Recurrent Unit in the third phase. The article aims to accommodate a comparative analysis among these three models based on mean square error, time per step, memory and the number of hidden nodes required for excellent accuracy. © International Association of Engineers.

In this paper, we employed molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to model the nanoindentation process, aiming to explore the mechanical characteristics of a silver (Ag) coating film on a copper (Cu) substrate. Three distinct bilayer configurations were selected, namely Ag (100)/Cu (111), Ag (110)/Cu (111), and Ag (111)/Cu (111), with the purpose of examining the impact of heterogeneous interfaces on deformation behaviors during nanoindentation. The results demonstrate that the Ag (111)/Cu (111) bilayer exhibits a higher force during the nanoindentation process when compared to the Ag (100)/Cu (111) and Ag (110)/Cu (111) bilayers. This suggests that interfaces with a smaller mismatch in the specified crystal plane between Ag and Cu are proven to be harder. To studied the correlation between indentation velocity and the interface, we considered various values of indentation velocities ranging from 120 m/s to 200 m/s, conducting indentations on the Ag (111)/Cu (111) bilayer. The findings indicate that variations in indentation velocity significantly impact the mechanical properties of Ag (111)/Cu (111) bilayers. Both force and hardness values exhibit a significant increase as indentation velocity rises, implying that the strength of Ag/Cu bilayers is more pronounced at higher indentation velocities. These observed trends were attributed to defect and dislocation formation at the interface, as confirmed through dislocation extraction analysis (DXA).

On the Effects of Using word2vec Representations in Neural Networks for Dialogue Act Recognition

Dialogue act recognition is an important component of a large number of natural language processing pipelines. Many research works have been carried out in this area, but relatively few investigate deep neural networks and word embeddings. This is surprising, given that both of these techniques have proven exceptionally good in most other language-related domains. We propose in this work a new deep neural network that explores recurrent models to capture word sequences within sentences, and further study the impact of pretrained word embeddings. We validate this model on three languages: English, French and Czech. The performance of the proposed approach is consistent across these languages and it is comparable to the state-of-the-art results in English. More importantly, we confirm that deep neural networks indeed outperform a Maximum Entropy classifier, which was expected. However, and this is more surprising, we also found that standard word2vec embeddings do not seem to bring valuable information for this task and the proposed model, whatever the size of the training corpus is. We thus further analyse the resulting embeddings and conclude that a possible explanation may be related to the mismatch between the type of lexical-semantic information captured by the word2vec embeddings, and the kind of relations between words that is the most useful for the dialogue act recognition task. Since its first appearance in December 2019, Covid-19 has become a wide field of scientific research. Starting from biology to bioinformatic solutions, Artificial Intelligence has contributed in turn as a powerful tool for tracking and predicting the outbreak of Covid-19 using different types of datasets. Chest X-ray images are widely used in computer vision applications and Time series datasets are used for predicting the spread of the novel coronavirus. Graph analytics is a recent field of study that links the mathematical definition and operations of a graph to its application in computer science as a complex data structure, this combination has played a critical role in making graph-based applications present in different fields. One of the most powerful graph analytics is community detection which is an intelligent and unsupervised grouping of a set of graph structured data using the similarity between them. The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of graph-based algorithms in tracking Covid-19 using time series datasets, our work will also focus on Spectral Clustering (SC) as a community detection approach to extract clusters from the input datasets. Further applications are needed in order to validate the proposed theoretical approach.

IntroductionEffective communication skills are integral to providing adequate patient care and are fundamental to its effectiveness. This is particularly important for radiotherapy students while interacting with patients. Students tend to feel disempowered and inadequate to communicate effectively due to repeated miscommunication between students and patients. For students seeking to develop their abilities, confidence, knowledge, and critical thinking, blended learning-based communication skills training may have been an alternative approach. In this study, a chatbot-based prototype model (SCIMORT module) was designed to effectively improve the communication skills of undergraduates in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. MethodsSCIMORT was developed in compliance with the Clinical Practice for Radiotherapy course's academic syllabus and learning objectives. SCIMORT was constructed using Blender with final exportation to Bot Libre. The research study is divided into two phases. The first phase focuses on developing the SCIMORT module, while the second phase includes properly evaluating the prototype created in the first phase via a survey questionnaire. ResultsThe virtual patient created in the first phase was displayed a visual cue (e.g. blinking, eye movement) and auditory cues (e.g. verbal response, intonation of voice). In the second phase, the expert validation of the questionnaire resulted in a high Content Validity Ratio of more than 0.83 percent and a Cronbach Alpha Coefficient of more than 70%. Both the control group's (users' acceptance = 3.919 ± 1.245; users' engagement = 3.526 ± 1.270) and Trial group's (users' acceptance = 3953 ± 1.114; users' engagement = 3.568 ± 1.142) users' acceptance and engagement with SCIMORT were neutral. ConclusionThe SCIMORT has proven to be an effective and acceptable tool for pre-clinical learning, but with limited levels of engagement. The SCIMORT module should be continually improved by

Forecasting accurate future price is very important in financial sector. An optimized Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is introduced in forecasting the cryptocurrency future price. It is part of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that uses previous experience to forecast future price. Analysts and investors generally combine fundamental and technical analysis prior to decide the best price to execute their trades. Some may use Machine Learning Algorithms to execute their trades. However, forecasting result using basic SVM algorithms does not really promising. On the other hands, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is known as a better algorithm for a static and simple optimization problem. Therefore, PSO is introduced to optimize the algorithms of SVM in cryptocurrency forecasting. The experiment of selected cryptocurrencies is conducted for this classifier. The experimental result demonstrates that an optimized SVM-PSO algorithm can effectively forecast the future price of cryptocurrency thus outperforms the single SVM algorithms. © 2019 The Authors. In the present research, the nonlinear electrical equation named low–pass electrical transmission lines (LPETLs) equation under examination through extended simple equation approach. The nonlinear LPETLs model having important implications in sciences and engineering such as communication and electronic engineering included system of signal distribution in cable television, connection system of radio receiver and transmitter and its antennas, computer networking connected system, routing call truck lines of telephone switching centers, high speed data buses in computers and many others. In the presenting research, we examined novel solitons with interesting structure such as periodic wave solitons, kink wave solitons, bright solitons, anti–kink wave solitons, dark solitons, mixed bright and dark solitons, periodic traveling and solitary waves. The physical structure of some explored results demonstrated by contour, two–dimensional and three–dimensional through numerical simulation with computational Mathematica software. These novel explored results prove that proposed approach in this research is more straightforward, effective, not difficult to use and efficient to the investigation of different nonlinear differential equations.

Dirac cones (DCs) play a pivotal role in various unique phenomena ranging from massless electrons in graphene to robust surface states in topological insulators (TIs). Recent studies have theoretically revealed a full Dirac hierarchy comprising an eightfold bulk DC, a fourfold surface DC, and a twofold hinge DC, associated with a hierarchy of topological phases including first-order to third-order three-dimensional (3D) topological insulators, using the same 3D base lattice. Here, we report the first experimental observation of the Dirac hierarchy in 3D acoustic TIs. Using acoustic measurements, we unambiguously reveal that lifting of multifold DCs in each hierarchy can induce two-dimensional (2D) topological surface states with a fourfold DC in a first-order 3D TI, one-dimensional (1D) topological hinge states with a twofold DC in a second-order 3D TI, and zero-dimensional (0D) topological corner states in a third-order 3D TI. Our work not only expands the fundamental research scope of Dirac physics, but also opens up a new route for multidimensional robust wave manipulation. Copyright © 2022, The Authors.
