Powerful results from the theory of integer programming have recently led to substantial advances in parameterized complexity. However, our perception is that, except for Lenstra’s algorithm for solving integer linear programming in fixed dimension, there is still little understanding in the parameterized complexity community of the strengths and limitations of the available tools. This is understandable: it is often difficult to infer exact runtimes or even the distinction between FPT and XP algorithms, and some knowledge is simply unwritten folklore in a different community. We wish to make a step in remedying this situation. To that end, we first provide an easy to navigate quick reference guide of integer programming algorithms from the perspective of parameterized complexity. Then, we show their applications in three case studies, obtaining FPT algorithms with runtime f(k) poly(n). We focus on: Modeling: since the algorithmic results follow by applying existing algorithms to new models, we shift the focus from the complexity result to the modeling result, highlighting common patterns and tricks which are used. Optimality program: after giving an FPT algorithm, we are interested in reducing the dependence on the parameter;we show which algorithms and tricks are often useful for speed-ups. Minding the poly(n): reducing f(k) often has the unintended consequence of increasing poly(n);so we highlight the common trade-offs and show how to get the best of both worlds. Specifically, we consider graphs of bounded neighborhood diversity which are in a sense the simplest of dense graphs, and we show several FPT algorithms for Capacitated Dominating Set, Sum Coloring, and Max-q-Cut by modeling them as convex programs in fixed dimension, n-fold integer programs, bounded dual treewidth programs, and indefinite quadratic programs in fixed dimension. © Tomáš Gavenciak, Dušan Knop, and Martin Koutecký;licensed under Creative Commons License CC-BY.

This paper intended to classify land cover of high-resolution satellite image using supervised classification method. The object of this research was the land cover image of the central Java area in Indonesia which chosen as an area observed with the cloud cover consideration. The Satellite image was obtained from Sentinel-2 through https://***. Supervised Classification and ArcMap 10.5 was used to classified image object. This research classified the land cover into four classifications class namely Water, Forest, Urban and Bare Land due to show the main classes in the Land Cover Classification of RSNI-l National Standardization Body of Indonesia, RSNI-l was used as reference for classification process. The confusion matrix used to calculate classification accuracy value. Subsequently, confusion matrix results compared to the truth information. The truth information was derived from the actual value of RASTERVALUE obtained from Google Earth. This research shown supervised classification maximum-likelihood classification has been classified land cover into four class (forest, water body, urban and bare land) with overall accuracy = 1 and kappa value = 0.4896. This result showed this research got moderate kappa accuracy value but high overall accuracy value. High accuracy value reached due to fully supervised experiment during classification process. © 2018 IEEE.

Biosignals are nowadays important subjects for scientific researches from both theory and applications especially with the appearance of new pandemics threatening the humanity such as the new Coronavirus. One aim in the present work is to prove that Wavelets may be a successful machinery to understand such phenomena by applying a step forward extension of wavelets to multiwavelets. We proposed in a first step to improve multiwavelet notion by constructing more general families using independent components for multi-scaling and multiwavelet mother functions. A special multiwavelet is then introduced, continuous and discrete multiwavelet transforms are associated, as well as new filters and algorithms of decomposition and reconstruction. The constructed multiwavelet framework is applied for some experimentations showing fast algorithms, ECG signal and a strain of Coronavirus *** Codes 42C40, 65T60, 94A08 © 2021, CC0.

Free-electron radiation offers an enticing route to create light emission at arbitrary spectral regime. However, this type of light emission is generally weak, which is intrinsically limited by the weak particle-matter interaction and unavoidably impedes the development of many promising applications, such as the miniaturization of free-electron radiation sources and high-energy particle detectors. Here we reveal a mechanism to enhance the particle-matter interaction by exploiting the pseudo-Brewster effect of gain materials – presenting an enhancement of at least four orders of magnitude for the light emission. This mechanism is enabled by the emergence of an unprecedented phase diagram that maps all phenomena of free-electron radiation into three distinct phases in a gain-thickness parameter space, namely the conventional, intermediate, and Brewster phases, when an electron penetrates a dielectric slab with a modest gain and a finite thickness. Essentially, our revealed mechanism corresponds to the free-electron radiation in the Brewster phase, which also uniquely features ultrahigh directionality, always at the Brewster angle, regardless of the electron velocity. Counterintuitively, we find that the intensity of this free-electron Brewster radiation is insensitive to the Fabry-Pérot resonance condition and thus the variation of slab thickness, and moreover, a weaker gain could lead to a stronger enhancement for the light emission. The scheme of free-electron Brewster radiation, especially along with its compatibility with low-energy electrons, may enable the development of high-directionality high-intensity light sources at any frequency. © 2023, CC BY.

The present paper proposes an assistive system to help a visually impaired user find available seats that are not occupied by other persons. The system is composed of a white cane, a Microsoft Kinect sensor, a parametric speaker, and other components. The system can recognize available seats by use of a RANSAC-based depth-data processing technique and face recognition software. If available seats are found, the system notifies a visually impaired user about their positions by use of auralization technology based on a parametric speaker. The seat recognition method was evaluated in two hundred environments that include available and occupied seats. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed system was effective to assist visually impaired users in searching available seats for daily living environments. © 2019 IEEE.

Even though, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are adopted in various scenarios to enable the implementation of a smart radio environment, there are still challenging issues for its real-time operation due to the need for a costly full dimensional channel estimation with offline exhaustive search or online exhaustive beam-training. The application of the deep learning (DL) tools is favored to enable feasible solutions. In this work, we propose two low training overhead and energy efficient adversarial bandit-based schemes with outstanding performance gains compared to reference DL based reflection beamforming methods. In this paper, the implementation of the XCP protocol over the CAN protocol on the AURIX platform is performed, using the C programming language. Because of its flexibility, the XCP protocol does not require implementation of all possible commands, but only the ones that are needed by a particular use-case. Moreover, the commands from the following groups are implemented: standard functions, calibration functions and measurement functions which use dynamic DAQ lists. During the development of the algorithm, the debugging device and the CANoe program were used. The CANoe measuring tool was used to send the CAN messages, validate the implemented protocol and visualize the collected data. The measurement results show that the module was working as expected, and that it was possible to send more than 25 commands in a 100 millisecond time interval with a very low CAN bus load.

In this research, we try to investigate a solar-geothermal energy system. This system includes three turbines for power production, a PEM electrolyzer for hydrogen production, and a thermoelectric for generating electricity from excess heat. In addition, the seawater will be passed through the osmotic cycle to gain fresh water. The required power for this osmotic cycle will be obtained through the energy produced by the main turbines. The generated load, hydrogen production flow rate, purified water flow rate, and heating consumption are assessed in this study. The results showed that this system can produce 3.8 megawatts of electricity as well as 8 g per second of hydrogen fuel at the operating point. Also, the energy efficiency of this system is estimated to be 19%. Afterward, machine learning methods are used to optimize designing parameters, and the optimum operating point in terms of useful power and stored fuel flow rate is obtained by a genetic algorithm. The optimum operating point of this energy system has a useful power output of 4.099 megawatts and a hydrogen flow rate of 29 g per second. In the end, the distribution of the design parameters is displayed for points of the beam curve. © 2022

this paper presents, new face detection methods based on HSL and HSI color spaces are presented. A comparison of the new face detection methods and a new HSV skin color range is presented. The three color spaces are based on: H, S, V, L, and I, whose represent Hue, Saturation, Value, Luminance and Intensity respectively. YouTube Celebrities Face Tracking and Recognition Dataset is used. It contains 1910 sequences of 47 subjects. All dataset videos are encoded in MPEG4 at 25fps rate. The proposed methods based on two main steps, at the beginning, the skin like regions is detected by the gradient values of the proposed color space. According to main facial features, such as eyes, mouth and nose the desired faces are determined from the recommended regions. According to experimental results, HSV color space gives good results in lighten_faces, HSL color space gives good results for multi_faces and HSI color space gives good results for single_faces and zoomed_faces videos.

In the offered examination the mathematical modelling of interaction processes of electromagnetic waves with composite substances nanostructures and electrodynamic structures on the base of graphene and carbon nanotubes is made. Models are grounded on solution of diffraction boundary-value 3D problems for Maxwell's equations with electrodynamic boundary conditions. Principles of subTHz and THz frequency bands controlled arrangements construction -filters, modulators, polarizers, etc., on the base of nanostructures by type "graphene -dielectric", lattices by type "carbon nanotube-graphene", graphene metasurfaces, etc., and also nonlinear parametric zonal transducers -amplifiers and generators on the base of graphene nanostructures are researched. Creation of radioelectronic instrumentation and equipment of new generation, capable to work in subTHz and THz frequency bands, will cause the rapid development of informational telecommunications of XXI-st century. © 2019 IEEE.
