The aim of the research is to develop an interdisciplinary course of extracurricular activities integrating knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for students to develop their scientific and technological skills. 52 students from secondary schools of Engels, Yoshkar-Ola (Russia), Sholom-Aleichem Priamursky State University (Birobidzhan, Russia), Osh State University College (Osh, Kyrgyz Republic) took part in the educational experiment. The theme-based course Basic Concepts of Arduino systems Engineering is developed based on the proprietary technology of simple projects of practical relevance. The projects render the general concept from knowledge to competence. The course consists of four modules: Start, Big Workshop/Hands-on Training, Go Ahead/Step forward, Group Design. Arduino applied in design modeling allows students to create electrical devices that would be productive in one or another area of life at a low cost. The course program is aimed at engaging students in innovative design technologies, computer programming and using robotic devices. The findings of the study were observed as part of an interview with students, educational achievement, subsequent STEM literacy test activities and the performance of game summarizing projects. The recommended method has shown the efficiency in mastering the required core set of skills of circuit design and computer programming.

We propose a semi-tensor product attention network model as a visual question answering tool for complex interaction over image features. Proposed model performs matrix multiplication of two arbitrary dimensions, which is used to overcome possible dimensional limitations and improve recognition flexibility. In used block-wise operation we preserve spatial and temporal information but reduce the number of parameters by using low-rank pooling scheme. applied BERT pre-train model is tuned to recognize question features. The proposed model is evaluated on the VQA2.0 dataset. Research results show that our model has good accuracy and easy reconfiguration for future research.

In this paper, we show preliminary results on the quality assessment of crowdworker output based on the movements of the mouse and the eyes while the task is performed. We assume that the mouse and the eyes stop longer if the quality is lower due to the lack of knowledge, or confidence, etc. Because the mouse- and eye-stopping duration follows lognormal distribution, we estimate its parameters (mean and standard deviation) to evaluate the quality. Results of preliminary experiments with 10 participants show that the parameters of correct outputs are different from those of incorrect ones. As compared to the task duration, which is often used as a feature for assessment, we have found that the mouse-and the eyestopping duration is advantageous and complementary for the assessment.

This paper presents a study on the impact of the antenna cavity on the in-body propagation and ultra wideband wireless body area networks (UWB-WBAN) radio channel characteristics between the capsule endoscope and the on-body antenna. The study is conducted with CST Studio Suite simulations and one of its anatomical voxel models. A simplified capsule model and two different on-body antennas designed for low-band UWB in-body communications are used in this study. The first antenna has a smaller cavity while the second antenna has a larger cavity. The radio channel characteristics between a capsule endoscope model and an on-body antenna are evaluated with the cavity and without the cavity in frequency and time domains. Furthermore, 2D power flow representations are studied to get insight how the presence and absence of the cavity changes the signal propagation within the tissues. It is found that with the antenna having a smaller cavity, the cavity impact depends on the on-body antenna location respect to the abdominal muscle layers. Instead, the antenna having a larger cavity enables to capture multipath components from the wider area resulting in stronger signal regardless where the antenna is located.
