Decision-making in medical diagnosis is often hampered by uncertainties due to incomplete, ambiguous, and evolving information. In reviewing the traditional methods for lung cancer detection, we found that crisp and logic values have more difficulties and challenges. These challenges related to the big data analytics, uncertainty values, and the different circumstances that make it harder for prediction. In this work, we propose a novel approach that use a Neutrosophic Topological Spaces (NTS) for the lung cancer detection in the chest X-ray images. Furthermore, the proposed NTS leverage the strengths points of Neutrosophic Sets (NS) which include the degrees of truth (T), indeterminacy (I), and falsity (F). The proposed model provides more informative results about the uncertainty cases compared with the traditional methods. The results indicated that the proposed NTS approach achieved highest accuracy reached to 85.5% with a sensitivity 88.2%, specificity 82.1%, and AUC 0.91. which mean that the proposed NTS approach are more reliable and efficient than traditional methods for uncertainty. © 2025, University of New Mexico. This paper explores using large language models (LLM) for automatic and source-to-source programming across various cross-platform languages and libraries, including generating CUDA code for high performance computing (HPC). Our proposed solution aims to demonstrate the capabilities of ChatGPT in generating valid CUDA code based on existing OpenMP code obtained from a polyhedral compilers Traco and Dapt. Specifically, we intend to showcase the model’s proficiency in producing equivalent and valid GPU code. Furthermore, we extend the application of our solution by prompting the AI model to generate similar code for another input benchmark, emphasizing its adaptability and versatility across different scenarios. This approach seeks to highlight the model’s capacity to provide automated and efficient solutions for diverse programming challenges. We chose non-trivial kernels from the non-serial polyadic dynamic programming (NPDP) benchmark with non-uniform loops. The focus is on ensuring code validity and understanding limitations in obtaining valid CUDA code. Additionally, we assess the efficiency and scalability of NVIDIA A100 GPU codes generated by artificial intelligence (AI) models, comparing them with optimized Intel Xeon Gold CPU codes from polyhedral optimizers. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Smart cities have attracted extensive coverage from multidisciplinary studies, and many artificial intelligence (AI) solutions have been designed. Conversely, cybersecurity has constantly been a crucial issue and is becoming gradually dangerous in smart cities. The attack defence models are inappropriate for perceiving multistep assaults as the recognition rules are restricted, and efficacy is partial due to many false security alarms. Therefore, an innovative solution is immediately required to progress cybersecurity defence ability. Machine learning (ML) methods are commonly employed to recognize numerous attacks because they could help network administrators grab analogous initials to avert intrusion. This study presents Cybersecurity using a Crested Porcupine Optimizer Algorithm with Hybrid Deep Learning Models (CCPOA-HDLM). The foremost intention of this study is to improve cybersecurity detection and classification in smart city environments. To accomplish that, the CCPOA-HDLM method comprises distinct processes such as min-max normalization, improved Salp swarm algorithm (ISSA)-based feature selection, Multi-Channel Convolutional Neural Network - Recurrent Neural Network (MCNN-RNN)-based cybersecurity detection, and crested porcupine optimizer (CPO)-based parameter selection process. Primarily, data normalization utilizing min-max normalization is implemented. Next, the CCPOA-HDLM method utilizes ISSA based feature selection method to select optimum features. The CCPOA-HDLM technique employs a hybrid of the MCNN-RNN model for the cybersecurity detection and classification process. Moreover, the hyperparameter range of the hybrid of DL techniques occurs using the CPO technique. The experimental validation of the CCPOA-HDLM approach is performed on the UNSW-NB15 dataset, and the outcome portrayed a superior accuracy value of 99.04 % over other recent approaches under various measures. © 2025 The Authors

The rapid advancement of deepfake technology has introduced significant challenges and opportunities across various domains. This article proposes a robust deepfake detection pipeline utilising a combination of attention mechanisms, pre-trained Vision Transformers (ViTs), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. The initial phase of the pipeline involves preparing photos and videos, potentially using optional facial detection to enhance accuracy. Vision Transformers derive features by capturing the global dependencies of input data. Long short-term memory (LSTM) networks address inter-frame temporal dependencies, whereas multi-head and traditional attention processes focus on essential elements. Ultimately, fully connected layers are employed for classification within the ensemble architecture, which consolidates the outcomes of several models. To ensure generalisability, assessment and regularisation approaches are employed to train the model using labelled datasets. Given the escalating threat of deepfakes, the findings indicate that the pipeline can consistently distinguish between genuine and fabricated information. © 2025 The Authors

An image can convey a thousand words. This statement emphasizes the importance of illustrating ideas visually rather than writing them down. Although detailed image representation is typically instructive, there are several contexts where simplification of image representations may be more informative. One way to provide an abstract representation of an object is via clip art, which is a simple graphic illustration of an object that can be included in documents or presentations. Clip art representation can be utilized in graphic design for concepts expression and daily life objects illustration. Furthermore, clip art had shown remarkable advantages when compared to real images in terms of editing and manipulation since clip art geometry can be easily edited in addition to the feasibility of storing it in a resolution-independent manner. However, it can be difficult to automatically create clip arts that resemble any object. Here, we propose a novel deep learning model, named ClipArtGAN, that utilizes Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to convert a photo of an object to its corresponding clip art. To our knowledge, this is the first GAN model based on Pix2Pix architecture that is capable of automatically generating clip art for any arbitrary object. Three training datasets were collected to train and compare two GAN models based on Pix2Pix and CycleGAN architectures. Our results demonstrate that the mean accuracy obtained using ClipArtGAN utilizing Pix2Pix outperforms that of CycleGAN by 58% and that of Google Images-based search by 54%. The specification of experiments expressed as Complex Analytics Workflows is a complex task that involves many decision-making steps with various degrees of complexity. The use of the context, the expert knowledge, and the potential for its sharing and reuse in the context of experiment specification have not been addressed sufficiently until now. Moreover, to make such knowledge instrumental, it should be coupled with specific probabilistic measures, such as particular assurances, ranking, and verification of various options. The paper aims to present a novel semantic model for probabilistic reasoning in any experimentation context coupled with a functional system for knowledge generation, reuse, and sharing. With the rapid development of intelligent transportation systems and growing emphasis on driver safety, real-time detection of driver drowsiness has become a critical area of research. This study presents a robust and scalable driver drowsiness detection framework that integrates a Swin Transformer-based deep learning model with a diffusion model for image denoising. While conventional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are effective in standard vision tasks, they often suffer performance degradation in real-world driving scenarios due to noise, poor lighting, motion blur, and adversarial attacks. To address these challenges, the proposed model focuses on eye-state detection, specifically, prolonged eye closure, as a primary indicator of driver disengagement and fatigue. Our system introduces a novel preprocessing stage using a denoising diffusion model built on a U-Net encoder-decoder architecture, effectively mitigating the impact of Gaussian noise and adversarial perturbations. Additionally, we incorporate adversarial training with Fast Gradient Sign Method (FGSM) and Projected Gradient Descent (PGD) attacks, demonstrating significant improvements in classification accuracy and resilience. Evaluations are conducted on two benchmark datasets, Eye-Blink and Closed Eyes in the Wild (CEW), under both clean and noisy conditions. Comparative experiments show that the proposed system outperforms several state-of-the-art models, including ViT, ResNet50V2, InceptionV3, MobileNet, DenseNet169, and VGG19, in terms of accuracy (up to 99.82%), PSNR (up to 41.61 dB), and SSIM (up to 0.984), while maintaining competitive inference times suitable for practical deployment. Moreover, a detailed sensitivity analysis of data augmentation strategies reveals that techniques such as rotation and horizontal flip substantially enhance the model’s generalization across variable visual inputs. In the context of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS), the role of vehicle detection and classification is indispensable for streamlining transportation management, refining traffic control, and conducting in-depth accident analyses. However, the intricate task of accurately detecting multi-oriented vehicles in diverse scenarios remains a challenge, even with the advancements in ITS. Factors such as vehicle morphology, design, road conditions, structural details, and climatic variables provide a significant part in the detection. To address this, our study introduces an advanced YOLOv8n model, specifically the YOLOv8n-CGW, which is built upon pre-trained deep learning frameworks. This model is meticulously tailored to enhance the detection capabilities for multi-oriented vehicles. Comprehensive evaluations on esteemed datasets like MtV, MERGED, Custom dataset, DAWN, WEDGE, and UA-DETRAC underscore the superiority of our approach over existing models. Notably, our YOLOv8n-CGW model achieves a remarkable mAP of 83.3% and boasts a swift inference time of 0.0019s, setting a new benchmark in the domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
