Polyp image segmentation based on improved planet optimization algorithm using reptile search algorithm

To recognize the potential for colon polyps to develop into cancer over time, early diagnosis is crucial for preventative healthcare. Timely identification significantly improves the prognosis and treatment outcomes for colorectal cancer patients. Image segmentation is crucial in medical image analysis for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Therefore, in this study, we present an alternative multilevel thresholding polyp segmentation method (MPOA) to enhance the segmentation of polyp images. The proposed method is based on enhancing the planet optimization algorithm (POA) by integrating operators from the reptile search algorithm (RSA). The evaluation of the developed MPOA is tested with different polyp images and compared with other image segmentation approaches. The results highlight the superior capability of MPOA, as evidenced by various performance measures in effectively segmenting polyp images. Furthermore, metrics such as peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSIM), and fitness values demonstrate that MPOA outperforms the basic version of POA and other methods. The evaluation outcomes underscore the significant impact of RSA in enhancing the performance of POA for the segmentation of polyp images. © The Author(s) 2025.

The rapid growth of electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates a robust charging infrastructure, but the diversity of charging plug types poses a challenge for both EV users and automated charging systems. This paper addresses the accurate identification of EV charging plug types in real-world scenarios using video object detection. We evaluated four state-of-the-art YOLO models (V5s, V6s, V7, and V8s) on a custom dataset. YOLOv8s demonstrates superior overall accuracy (mAP@0.5:0.95 of 0.95, precision 0.998, F1-score 0.997), while YOLOv7 excels in specific metrics (mAP@0.5 of 0.997, recall 0.997). YOLOv6s boasts the fastest training time. YOLOv5s has the lowest Gigaflops and Parameter. We bridge research and application with a user-friendly website for real-time EV socket detection, empowering users and paving the way for automated charging. This research contributes to a more accessible and efficient EV charging ecosystem, fostering sustainable transportation.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (science and information Organization). The amalgamation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) provides significant prospects to improve network capabilities. This study examines the energy renewable efficiency and performance of UAVs operating in WSNs and MANETs. The assessment considers a variety of elements that influence energy consumption, including the possibility of integrating renewable energy, energy management measures, and the impact on overall network performance. This seeks to provide insights into optimizing energy usage and improving the operating efficiency of UAVs in these dynamic network situations through extensive analysis and evaluation. A special emphasis is placed on the management of mobility, the optimization of energy usage, and the effectiveness of routing protocols. The paper explores existing protocols such as LEACH, AODV and OLSR highlighting their benefits and challenges for UAV's. A comparative analysis evaluates adapted protocols based on metrics such as energy efficiency, latency, and reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a breakthrough technologyin the transfer of medical data via a communication system. Wearable sensordevices collect patient data and transfer them through mobile internet, thatis, the IoMT. Recently, the shift in paradigm from manual data storage toelectronic health recording on fog, edge, and cloud computing has been *** advanced computing technologies have facilitated medical services withminimum cost and available conditions. However, the IoMT raises a highconcern on network security and patient data privacy in the health caresystem. The main issue is the transmission of health data with high security inthe fog computing model. In today’s market, the best solution is blockchaintechnology. This technology provides high-end security and authenticationin storing and transferring data. In this research, a blockchain-based fogcomputing model is proposed for the IoMT. The proposed technique embedsa block chain with the yet another consensus (YAC) protocol building securityinfrastructure into fog computing for storing and transferring IoMT data inthe network. YAC is a consensus protocol that authenticates the input datain the block chain. In this scenario, the patients and their family membersare allowed to access the data. The empirical outcome of the proposedtechnique indicates high reliability and security against dangerous *** major advantages of using the blockchain model are high transparency,good traceability, and high processing speed. The technique also exhibitshigh reliability and efficiency in accessing data with secure transmission. Theproposed technique achieves 95% reliability in transferring a large number offiles up to 10,000.

Prosthesis rehabilitation plays a crucial role in supporting amputees to return to their normal life through increasing mobility, utility, and comfort. Prostheses design during production in VR-Metaverse depends on clients’ requirements and many other factors, such as comfort, use, and operation. There are also sub-factors within these factors as illustrated in Figure (1). Several overlapping criteria must be considered when making decisions in this field. Thus, an efficient multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) technique needs to be employed. One promising technique is the Neutrosophic CRITIC (Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation) MCDM. In this paper, the fundamentals of the Neutrosophic CRITIC MCDM are discussed, focusing on its applications in prosthesis rehabilitation and the associated technologies that enhance the decision-making process. © 2025, University of New Mexico. This work proposes a new pipeline for leveraging data collected on the Stack Overflow website for pre-training a multimodal model for searching duplicates on question answering websites. Our multimodal model is trained on question descriptions and source codes in multiple programming languages. We design two new learning objectives to improve duplicate detection capabilities. The result of this work is a mature, fine-tuned Multimodal Question Duplicity Detection (MQDD) model, ready to be integrated into a Stack Overflow search system, where it can help users find answers for already answered questions. Alongside the MQDD model, we release two datasets related to the software engineering domain. The first Stack Overflow Dataset (SOD) represents a massive corpus of paired questions and answers. The second Stack Overflow Duplicity Dataset (SODD) contains data for training duplicate detection models. © 2023 Incoma Ltd. All rights reserved.
