A chatbot, sometimes known as a conversational agent, is software that uses natural language to interact with people. Travelling to and from a hospital for treatment takes a lot of time for people with hectic schedules, which makes many of them disregard their health issues. People frequently postpone going to the hospital for small problems that might develop into serious illnesses. For these people, interacting with chatbots to get helpful medical information is a cost-effective, time-efficient, and convenient option. This paper suggests a framework for a machine learning-based chatbot that combines natural language, machine learning, and statistical analysis. gaining knowledge of the technologies in a Spark cluster to help create an intelligent chatbot. In this work, we conducted a thorough analysis of current literature, looking at a large number of chatbot-related papers over the last five years. Next, we introduced many related tasks to our chatbot, which uses user symptoms to predict diseases and, depending on the user’s location, recommends hospitals in the area. Users will be able to easily engage with the chatbot using the system’s online interface.

Personalized news recommendation is the process of predicting the relevance of news to users and recommending news to user to fulfill their information needs. However, existing news recommendation methods extract semantic information from users and candidate news respectively, ignoring semantic interaction information between users and candidate news. Furthermore, previous models only use same node types for message passing, ignoring different characteristics and topology between different node types. In addition, existing methods learn news representations through text representations, ignoring semantic correlation information between entity relationships and texts. To solve these problems, we propose a personalized news recommendation model named CoHG. In our model, we design a collaborative fusion module to obtain semantic interaction information through interacting user history news with candidate news. Furthermore, we design a heterogeneous gated graph neural network that maps different node types into a same space to extract higher-order information in user graphs for message passing. Moreover, we design an enhanced relevant attention module to enhance semantic correlation information of text content by aggregating text representation and entity representation into a unified representation. Finally, we conducted experiments on MIND and Adressa datasets to compare with other baseline models.

Personalized News Recommendation (PNR) can enhance user experience by alleviating information overload. Traditional news recommendation methods consider all clicking behaviors as user interests, resulting in biased user modeling that fails to accurately capture user interests. In addition, although there are methods to reduce the impact of low-quality news at the representation level by simply filtering it through the attention mechanism. However, this only implicitly models the news in the interaction sequence without specifically considering the quality of each news, and thus has very limited effect in identifying noise. To address these issues, this paper proposes News Recommendation method based on News Quality-aware modeling (NQNR). We attempt to explicitly model the news in the click sequence and candidate ranking one by one to visually assess the quality of each news. Specifically, we design a detection module to detect whether the input news is low-quality news. Then, by reducing the influence of low-quality news in user modeling and candidate ranking, user interests are modeled more accurately, while recommendations of such news are reduced for users. In addition, to capture the similarity of vectors more accurately, we also design a similarity computation method based on the multiple attention mechanism in the detection module. Experiments on a large real-world Microsoft News dataset (MIND) show that our model significantly outperforms previous models. Our code is posted at the following URL: https://***/xxbbjj/NQNR-.

Active polar fluids exhibit spontaneous flow when sufficient active stress is generated by internal molecular mechanisms. This is also referred to as an active Fréedericksz transition. Experiments have revealed the existence of competing in-plane and out-of-plane instabilities in three-dimensional active matter. So far, however, a theoretical model reconciling all observations is missing. In particular, the role of boundary conditions in these instabilities still needs to be explained. Here, we characterize the spontaneous flow transition in a symmetry-preserving three-dimensional active Ericksen-Leslie model, showing that the boundary conditions select the emergent behavior. Using nonlinear numerical solutions and linear perturbation analysis, we explain the mechanism for both in-plane and out-of-plane instabilities under extensile active stress for perpendicular polarity anchoring at the boundary, whereas parallel anchoring only permits in-plane flows under contractile stress or out-of-plane wrinkling under extensile stress.

Class-Incremental Learning (CIL) enables models to continuously learn new class knowledge while retaining previous classes, facilitating adaptation and evolution in dynamic, real-world environments. Traditional CIL methods primarily rely on visual features, which limits their effectiveness in complex, multimodal scenarios. In contrast, VLMs show promising potential for enhancing CIL by leveraging pre-trained knowledge and integrating multi-modal semantic cues such as text and vision. However, existing approaches struggle to mitigate catastrophic forgetting while preserving the generalization strengths of VLMs across diverse modalities. To address these challenges, we propose a Feature Calibration Enhanced Parameter Synthesis (FCPS) framework. Specifically, FCPS introduces a dynamic parameter adjustment mechanism that iteratively calibrates the contribution of original visual features to the final class decision, thus preserving the model’s intrinsic generalization capability across modalities. Simultaneously, parameter integration enables effective knowledge transfer, maintaining a balance between acquiring new class representations and preserving old knowledge. Field-road mode mining (FRMM) has gained increasing attention because of its crucial role in machinery management. As the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely applied in agricultural machinery, many methods based on motion and spatial-temporal features of GNSS trajectory data have been proposed for FRMM. However, these methods ignore the density and parallel features of GNSS points. The two features are useful for FRMM because field points usually have a higher density and more parallel points than road points. Therefore, a neural network driven by density and parallel features is proposed for accurate FRMM. Firstly, a statistical method is designed to extract the density feature (i.e., the number of its neighbor points) and parallel feature (i.e., the number of approximately parallel points in its neighbors) of each point. Then, the two features and eight motion features (e.g., speed, direction, etc.) are fed into a neural network to extract valuable latent features. Finally, a linear classifier is used to identify the field and road categories of GNSS points based on the latent features. Experimental results show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods and achieves the accuracy of 91.69% and 86.44% on public Wheat and Paddy datasets, respectively.

A Unified Analysis for Finite Weight Averaging

Averaging iterations of Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) have achieved empirical success in training deep learning models, such as Stochastic Weight Averaging (SWA), Exponential Moving Average (EMA), and LAtest Weight Averaging (LAWA). Especially, with a finite weight averaging method, LAWA can attain faster convergence and better generalization. However, its theoretical explanation is still less explored since there are fundamental differences between finite and infinite settings. In this work, we first generalize SGD and LAWA as Finite Weight Averaging (FWA) and explain their advantages compared to SGD from the perspective of optimization and generalization. A key challenge is the inapplicability of traditional methods in the sense of expectation or optimal values for infinite-dimensional settings in analyzing FWA’s convergence. Second, the cumulative gradients introduced by FWA introduce additional confusion to the generalization analysis, especially making it more difficult to discuss them under different assumptions. Extending the final iteration convergence analysis to the FWA, this paper, under a convexity assumption, establishes a convergence bound O(log (T/k) /√T), where k ∈ [1, T/2] is a constant representing the last k iterations. Compared to SGD with O(log(T)/√T), we prove theoretically that FWA has a faster convergence rate and explain the effect of the number of average points. In the generalization analysis, we find a recursive representation for bounding the cumulative gradient using mathematical induction. We provide bounds for constant and decay learning rates and the convex and non-convex cases to show the good generalization performance of ***, experimental results on several benchmarks verify our theoretical results. © 2024, CC BY.

Healthcare Internet of Things (HIoT) requires large-scale privacy features to ensure maximum security in sharing sensitive physiological data in consumer electronics. Recent approaches utilize the fusion concept to provide maximum privacy in health data sharing. Embedded signing data fusion with the health observed data ensures privacy preserved sharing across heterogeneous medical consumer devices for diagnosis. This article proposes a Dependency-correlated data Fusion Scheme (DcDFS) to maximize the privacy of the health data-sharing process. The proposed scheme prepares separate key signing procedures using triple-DES (data encryption standard) to embed with the accumulated health data. The fusion process is carried out by defining key headers and integrity footers for authentication and verification. Therefore, the fusion generates a combined sequence of linear authentication and validation procedures enclosing the health data. In this scheme, the role of federated learning is to prevent permuted sequences for the same health data. This research integrates Small Language Model (SLM) and Large Language Model (LLM) into the federated learning module to support secure, scalable, and intelligent healthcare data sharing. Their collaboration enhances context-aware training while preserving privacy across decentralized, encrypted environments. A similar sequence mapped between the header and footer is responsible for discarding unauthorized data handling. The learning process verifies the permutation for many-to-one header to footer and vice versa. Therefore, the proposed fusion scheme generates a linear dependency between the actual and security-related data for maximum privacy. The proposed scheme achieves the following: the computation time is confined by 12.424%, the privacy leakage by 12.923%, and the computation efficiency is improved by 11.46%, as observed under the maximum sequences. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Accurate and reproducible assessment of myocardial conditions is essential for the diagnosis of prior infarctions, cardiomyopathies, and inflammatory diseases. Although cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is regarded as the gold standard for evaluating myocardial anatomy and function, manual segmentation remains labor-intensive and susceptible to variability. The demand for high-resolution images, dense predictions, and comprehensive segmentation across all phases of the cardiac cycle introduces significant challenges for Cine-CMR analysis. To address these issues, we present EML-SAM, an innovative interactive segmentation model based on the Segment Anything Model (SAM). EML-SAM incorporates an early-mid-late (EML) multi-scale fusion strategy, effectively mitigating the premature dilution of interaction information, thereby reducing segmentation errors and enhancing feature utilization. Furthermore, the model utilizes a multi-scale linear attention (MLA) transformer to establish an efficient global receptive field. Comprising 12 Transformer layers, the model integrates multi-scale attention with multi-scale perceptrons, striking a balance between computational efficiency and capacity. The proposed methodology offers a robust and efficient solution for high-resolution Cine-CMR segmentation, delivering accurate and real-time segmentation performance throughout the various stages of temporal changes within the cardiac cycle.

Higher-order approximation for uncertainty quantification in time series analysis

For time series with high temporal correlation, the empirical process converges rather slowly to its limiting distribution. Many statistics in change-point analysis, goodness-of-fit testing and uncertainty quantification admit a representation as functionals of the empirical process and therefore inherit its slow convergence. Inference based on the asymptotic distribution of those quantities becomes highly impacted by relatively small sample sizes. We assess the quality of higher-order approximations of the empirical process by deriving the asymptotic distribution of the corresponding error terms. Based on the limiting distribution of the higher-order terms, we propose a novel approach to calculate confidence regions for statistical quantities such as the median. In a simulation study, we compare coverage rate and size of our confidence regions with those based on the asymptotic distribution of the empirical process and highlight some of our method's benefits.
