data subsampling is one of the most natural methods to approximate a massively large data set by a small representative proxy. In particular, sensitivity sampling received a lot of attention, which samples points proportional to an individual importance measure called sensitivity. This framework reduces in very general settings the size of data to roughly the VC dimension d times the total sensitivity S while providing strong (1 ± Ε) guarantees on the quality of approximation. The recent work of Woodruff & Yasuda (2023c) improved substantially over the general Õ(Ε−2Sd) bound for the important problem of p subspace embeddings to Õ(Ε−2S2/p) for p ∈ [1, 2]. Their result was subsumed by an earlier Õ(Ε−2Sd1−p/2) bound which was implicitly given in the work of Chen & Derezinski (2021). We show that their result is tight when sampling according to plain p sensitivities. We observe that by augmenting the p sensitivities by 2 sensitivities, we obtain better bounds improving over the aforementioned results to optimal linear Õ(Ε−2(S+d)) = Õ(Ε−2d) sampling complexity for all p ∈ [1, 2]. In particular, this resolves an open question of Woodruff & Yasuda (2023c) in the affirmative for p ∈ [1, 2] and brings sensitivity subsampling into the regime that was previously only known to be possible using Lewis weights (Cohen & Peng, 2015). As an application of our main result, we also obtain an Õ(Ε−2µd) sensitivity sampling bound for logistic regression, where µ is a natural complexity measure for this problem. This improves over the previous Õ(Ε−2µ2d) bound of Mai et al. (2021) which was based on Lewis weights subsampling. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Being a data science era, any bulk of data concerned with specific fields need to maintain in data centers with the help of rack server. For reducing storage for data center, the need to implement the data deduplication mechanism and keeping backup of those data in data center is becoming more important. In the case of reducing redundant data from the various servers in data center, the huge amount of data become the biggest challenge. As the data deduplication mechanism not only it can reduce the size of data to be stored or to be transmit but also it can give the backup and recovery features. This paper proposed the efficient data deduplication mechanism called EntroDeduper, which is the hybrid of entropy, secure hash algorithm and indexing. The input files are divided into blocks using file separator and the redundant block is removed by applying the entropy gain theory, which is used to get not only the significant reduction rate but also the full block coverage for reconstruction. © 2023 IEEE.

Vehicle use and the concept of a "smart city"are developing quickly. As a result of this progression, the Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is a popular network for inter-vehicular communication. The data gathering about the state of the road, the whereabouts of vehicles, their speeds, and the description of traffic congestion are obtained using the VANET. The public nature of information flow on the VANET creates serious security risks. data security is typically one of the most important duties of VANET. As a result, it becomes one of the researchers' top priorities. Li et al. [1] introduced a Lightweight Privacy Preserving Authentication Protocol for VANETs. They stated that several attacks could be resisted using their secure authentication devised protocol. However, after analyzing we discovered that their authentication protocol is susceptible to roadside impersonation attack and it does not provide vehicle anonymity. In the end, we have provided a few suggestions to cope with Li et al.'s devised protocol current shortcomings. © 2023 IEEE.

In the distributed computing paradigm, cloud computing provides a wide range of software, platforms and computing infrastructure. It has ability sharable elastic resource pools in dynamic. In this way, cloud computing offers many benefits. It reduces the cost of deployment in applications. It makes easy to increase the capacity of local infrastructures. And it can reduce power consumption by sharing resources. There are challenges over the benefits. The virtual instances needed to be shared equally distributed across different availability zones per demand. That can be categorized into operational and business challenges. In this paper, we implement the cloud prediction system using historical billing data and study the measurement of the model accuracy using Mean Absolute Error and Root Mean Squared Error. The trained model evaluates by the predicted and targeted value graph in this study. By leveraging historical financial data, this method aims to aid organizations in better foreseeing and managing AWS expenditures, leading to improved cost control and financial planning for cloud infrastructure. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a time-series signal containing semantic information that can be used to determine human brain activities. Artifacts within EEG data can interfere with the intrinsic distribution of this semantic information, so removing artifacts is crucial for improving EEG analysis performance on downstream tasks. In this paper, we redefine the efficacy of the artifact removal model by evaluating the performance of the noisy EEG data in downstream tasks before and after artifact removal. Currently, most artifact removal models fail to ensure semantic consistency, rendering them ineffective. To solve it, we propose an artifact removal model based on the 1-dimensional diffusion model utilizing the U-Net, referred to as Essentia. Moreover, we find that the skip-connection layer in U-Net contains mid-to-high-frequency information that interferes with the semantic representation. We introduce a semantic guidance module (SGM) that leverages contrastive learning to generate semantic distribution weights, boosting semantic representation. We evaluate Essentia on three datasets with six solutions. The accuracy of downstream tasks from the denoised EEG data increased by 4% compared with the DeepSeparetor. Nowadays, the ability to process, generate and collect various data in real-time has become more relevant for faster reactions to important events in technical enterprises. The numerous distributed stream processing engines is developed to provide the advance large streaming applications. Apache Kafka and Flink also become more popular in the processing and analyzing of large amount of data. Apache Flink is best suited for data analytics, event-driven and data pipeline applications. Applying Apache Kafka to Flink provides low idle time and low latency, and the most demanding stream processing applications in the world. This paper investigates the effective pipeline architecture for developing data driven analytics. Confirming the experimental results, the system proves to optimize the maximum latency, average latency, and idle time of the pipeline architecture. Additionally, further experiments were performed by implementing different levels of parallelism while streaming data, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of maximum latency and average latency of the pipeline. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly expanded the connectivity of smart devices, emphasizing the crucial importance of clustering for optimizing device energy, particularly in data communication. The DCOPA protocol is presented as a distributed clustering protocol for data communication in IoT based on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The DCOPA protocol uses competition among network nodes, based on the multicriteria aggregation approach. Residual energy and Distance from a Base Station (DistBS) criteria are used to elect Cluster-Heads (CHs). DCOPA operates in two distinct phases: a Setup phase dedicated to CH designation and a Steady-state phase that includes specific periods for normal nodes and CHs. In this article, we propose an enhancement to the DCOPA protocol called EDCOPA, in which we focus on integrating two additional parameters that can influence and optimize the selection of CHs for increased energy efficiency and a better network lifetime. This improvement preserves the distributed and multicriteria aspects of the protocol. The number of times a given node has assumed the role of CH, as well as the energy consumed in the previous round, have been incorporated into the objective function. Simulation results demonstrate that this integration has significantly improved the network's lifetime and the energy consumption of both nodes and the entire network. © 2023 ACM.

3D medical image segmentation is an essential task in the medical image field, which aims to segment organs or tumours into different labels. A number of issues exist with the current 3D medical image segmentation task: existing models cannot simultaneously obtain the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices;previous models suffer from local detail loss of positional embedding in 3D images;previous approaches often have blurring of boundaries in segmenting 3D images. To solve these shortcomings, we propose a 3D medical image segmentation model named TPM-SAM. In our model, we design a twinchannel image encoder to simultaneously capture the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices through a multi-head attention mechanism and improved adapters. Furthermore, we design a prompt encoding generator, which divides the volumetric image into small blocks and better captures the local detail information. In addition, we introduce a multi-layer aggregation decoder by employing U-Net with multi-level skip connection to solve the blurring of boundaries in processing 3D images. Finally, we experimented and evaluated our model on KiTS21 and LiTS17 datasets to compare with other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

The use of technology and information devices contributes to global warming. This issue has also become a concern for UN institutions, as stated in international environmental agreements, which aim to stabilize greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere at a level that prevents anthropogenic and dangerous disturbances to the environmental system. This research uses a line of code derived from the tanjak dataset, a student project from 2003 to 2020, numbering 500. This research aims to apply energy consumption efficiency to reduce CO2 emissions produced using computer devices, especially in developing software. The approach used in this research is clean code, which can provide benefits in the form of a line of code that is easy to read, understand, test, and maintain so that it can create savings in energy use. In the test, the line of code used was 1,072,089, producing an energy of 82,152.18 Joules, minus the line of code comments, which was 76,750, producing an energy of 2,971.25 Joules. Initial research results show that the clean code approach can be used to save energy usage, with the result of the line of code used being 995,339 and producing 79,180 Joules of energy, so it can affect reducing CO2 emissions when implementing software development.
