Due to the increasingly evolved attacks on the Internet, especially IoT, 5G, and vehicle networking, a robust Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) has gained increasing attention from academic and industrial communities. Anomaly-based intrusion detection algorithms aim to detect unexpected deviations in the expected network behaviour, thus detecting unknown or novel attacks compared to signature-based methods. Deep Anomaly Detection (DAD) technologies have attracted much attention for their ability to detect unknown attacks without manually building the traffic behaviours profile. However, low recall rates and high dependencies on data labels still hinder the development of DAD technologies. Inspired by the successes of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for detecting anomalies in the area of computer Vision and Images, we have proposed a deep end-to-end architecture called FlowADGAN for detecting anomalies in NIDS. Unlike traditional GAN-based NIDS methods that usually construct Generator (G) and Discriminator (D) based on vanilla GAN, the proposed architecture is composed of a flow encoder-decoder-encoder for G, and a flow encoder for D. FlowADGAN can learn a latent flow feature space of G so that the latent space better captures the normality underlying the network traffic data. We conduct several experimental comparisons with existing machine learning algorithms like One-Class SVM, LOF, and PCA and existing deep learning methods, including AutoEncoder and VAE, on three public datasets, NSL-KDD CICIDS2017 and UNSW-NB15. The evaluation results show that FlowADGAN can significantly improve the performance of the anomaly-based NIDS. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Alzheimer's disease is a fatal brain disorder that impacts predominantly the elderly. The early identification of Alzheimer's illness requires the use of efficient automated methods. For the categorization of Alzheimer's disease, researchers have proposed several distinct methods. To create more effective learning strategies, however, a deeper comprehension of Alzheimer's research is necessary. The condition is diagnosed but not until a later stage. As a consequence, the disease's progression or its symptoms' onset can be slowed if detected earlier. This article uses two datasets and machine learning techniques to predict Alzheimer's disease based on psychological characteristics such as age, gender, number of visits, and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). We ultimately focused on the masculine gender and characteristics. The following results (accuracy) were discovered: SVM: 84%, KNN: 79%, and Random forest: 86%. Neural network: 86%;Naive Bayes: 83%. © 2023 IEEE.

Optimization technique based on cluster head selection algorithm for 5G-enabled IoMT smart healthcare framework for industry

Internet of medical things (IoMT) communication has become an increasingly important component of 5G wireless communication networks in healthcare as a result of the rapid proliferation of IoMT devices. Under current network architecture, widespread access to IoMT devices causes system overload and low energy efficiency. 5G-based IoMT systems aim to protect healthcare infrastructure and medical device functionality for longer. Therefore, using energy-efficient communication protocols is essential for enhancing QoS in IoMT systems. Several methods have been developed recently to improve IoMT QoS;however, clustering is more popular because it provides energy efficiency for medical applications. The primary drawback of the existing clustering technique is that their communication model does not take into account the chance of packet loss, which results in unreliable communication and drains the energy of medical nodes. In this study, we concentrated on designing a clustering model named Whale optimized weighted fuzzy-based cluster head selection algorithm to facilitate successful communication for IoMT-based systems. The experimental study shows that the proposed strategy performs better in terms of QoS than compared approaches. Inferring from this, the proposed method not only reduces energy consumption levels of 5G-based IoMT systems but also uniformly distributes cluster-head over a network to improve QoS. © 2022 Zahraa A. In today's environment, cancer is a fatal disease. Skin cancer has become a fairly common malignancy due to the spread of several forms of cancer. Skin cancer is divided into two types: melanoma and non-melanoma. Melanoma is one of the most fatal tumors on the planet, and it can spread to other parts of the body if not diagnosed early enough. Our proposed system uses Five alternative methods to predict a skin lesion's borders, texture, and color: a neural network and four standard machine learning classifiers. To enhance their performance, the outputs of these systems are merged using majority voting. Experiments have demonstrated that combining the five strategies yields the maximum level of accuracy. Pre-processing, Segmentation, Feature Extraction, and Classification are four critical phases in skin cancer identification. Skin lesion images were collected for this research from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC), which contains over 3297 photos. The accuracy of the NN classifier is 91.9%, compared to 87.2% for the KNN classifier, 81.5% for the Naive Bayes classifier, 72.5% for the SVM classifier, and 68.3% for the DT classifier. © 2023 IEEE.

By exploiting wireless operators, contemporary bookcrossing allows people to share books conveniently and hastens the spread of knowledge. Nevertheless, the widespread use of smartphone bookcrossing has been seriously hampered by the lack of tracking, resulting in missing and disappearance of textbooks, additionally, it leads to organizational inefficiency. Hence, we suggest using the emerging blockchain technology to exploit the advantages of its immutability and encrypted smart contract in order to overcome these difficulties. In this research, we propose a BookChain, a blockchain-based intra-campus book-sharing system that is verifiable and effective. BookChain securely records all of the book's interacting entities on blockchain because every consumer could retrace the book's renting activity, hence lowering the risk of a book being misplaced. Additionally, BookChain promotes the use of smart contracts to streamline the distribution of books with very little human interference, maximizing productivity. The experimental findings demonstrate the efficiency and affordability of the suggested system even with a large number of concurrent participants. © 2023 IEEE.

Information engineering strategies play a significant and transformative role in shaping the landscape of digital agriculture. It drives innovation and efficiency in modern farming practices, with a specific focus on enhancing the value of agricultural commodities, such as sugarcane. The application of mobile technology plays a crucial part in achieving increased sugarcane productivity. Mobile applications, equipped with advanced developer features, offer rapid and user-friendly access to vital information. Traditional methods of estimating sugarcane production relied on manual data recording on paper, followed by data transfer to computer systems, typically managed by sugar factory junior plant officers. This conventional approach presents several inherent weaknesses, including time and effort intensiveness during data recording and entry. Additionally, the potential for errors in calculation and data input is a concern. The storage capacity for paper-based documents is finite, and farmers are often unable to autonomously assess their production potential. The objective of this research is to confront these obstacles by creating a sugarcane production application for Android. This application functions as an information engineering approach focused on forecasting sugarcane yields for plantation owners and their assistants. The development procedure adhered to the systematic waterfall method, following the principles of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model. data collection was carried out through observations, while interviews with junior plant officers provided valuable insights into sugarcane estimation techniques. Analysis involved the synthesis of observational and interview data to inform the design of the application's interface and algorithmic system. Rising urban air pollution poses serious health dangers. Through robots, cloud computing, and deep reinforcement learning, this research proposes a new air purification method. The suggested autonomous system analyzes real-time air quality parameters and optimizes air purification tactics using cloud-based data processing. Advanced sensors and purification processes allow robotic agents to intelligently adapt to shifting pollution patterns in dynamic settings. Robots use Deep Q Networks (DQN) to learn and change their purifying tactics based on past data and environmental input. Cloud computing and deep learning improve air purification efficiency and enable real-time pollution response decision-making. The autonomous system is scalable and adaptable to varied urban environments since it requires little human involvement. The cloud-based design lets autonomous agents communicate and coordinate to improve air quality. Experimental findings show that the suggested strategy improves air purification over previous approaches. This system advances environmental robotics and lays the groundwork for intelligent, autonomous systems that handle urban air quality and pollution issues. © 2024 IEEE.

The skin has a very significant role in humans. But unfortunately, the skin is one of the organs vulnerable to disease. Skin diseases can have an impact on the annoying itching, pain, emotional, and social feelings of the sufferer. The causes of skin diseases include bacteria, fungi, viruses, dust, and allergies. Delay in treatment can exacerbate the condition of the affected skin. Therefore, the research proposed a skin disease detection mobile application for early diagnosis. The total of skin disease images is 2.747 data, which is divided into five classes and separated into training and validation data. The category of the dataset includes Acne Vulgaris, Actinic Keratosis, Nail Fungus, Psoriasis, and Seborrheic Keratoses. The development of this application uses several augmentation techniques so that the model gets input training data from various image forms, and then uses pre-trained MobileNetV2, which has low latency and low power as needed on mobile devices. The development of this application also uses the TensorFlow Lite model for inference with ML Kit on Android. The model performance gave the best accuracy of 90.62%, precision of 89%, recall of 90%, and F1- score of 89%. These results indicate that the classifying of skin diseases using the pre-trained MobileNetV2 on CNN architecture is feasible.

Supervised Classification (SML) is the pursuit of systems that reasoning from externally given instances to generate broad hypotheses, which subsequently generate predictions for future instances. One of the jobs performed by intelligent systems most commonly is supervised classification. Based on the data set, number of occurrences and variables in this study, the most efficient classification algorithm is selected. It is comprehensively described and contrasted with various supervised learning methods. Seven distinct machine learning algorithms were taken into consideration utilizing the Waikato Environment for data Analysis (WEDA) machine learning tool. For the identification process, the data set was used with 780 instances, eight independent variables (quality), and one dependent variable (variable). According to the data, SVM was the technique with the highest degree of precision and accuracy. Accordingly, the next accurate classification algorithms after SVM were determined to be Naive Bayes and Random Forest. The study demonstrates that precision (accuracy) and model construction time are two factors, whereas kappa statistics and mean error percentage (MAE) are two other factors. Therefore, controlled predictive machine learning requires precision, accuracy, and minimal error in ML algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Visual–Semantic Graph Matching Net for Zero-Shot Learning

Zero-shot learning (ZSL) aims to leverage additional semantic information to recognize unseen classes. To transfer knowledge from seen to unseen classes, most ZSL methods often learn a shared embedding space by simply aligning visual embeddings with semantic prototypes. However, methods trained under this paradigm often struggle to learn robust embedding space because they align the two modalities in an isolated manner among classes, which ignore the crucial class relationship during the alignment process. To address the aforementioned challenges, this article proposes a visual-semantic graph matching net (VSGMN), which leverages semantic relationships among classes to aid in visual-semantic embedding. VSGMN uses a graph build net (GBN) and a graph matching net (GMN) to achieve two-stage visual-semantic alignment. Specifically, GBN first uses an embedding-based approach to build visual and semantic graphs in the semantic space and align the embedding with its prototype for first-stage alignment. In addition, to supplement unseen class relationships in these graphs, GBN also builds the unseen class nodes based on semantic relationships. In the second stage, GMN continuously integrates neighbor and cross-graph information into the constructed graph nodes and aligns the node relationships between the two graphs under the class relationship constraint. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that VSGMN achieves superior performance in both conventional and generalized ZSL (GZSL) scenarios.
