Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in Jordan. It is the main reason of death among Jordanian adult citizens. Worldwide, 48% of all deaths are due to Diabetes occurred before the age of 70 years. Hence, this research is interested in the early prediction of this disease among Jordanian people. To achieve this main objective, Machine Learning (ML) is utilized through a large number of classification models and considering five well-known evaluation metrics. These classification models have been trained on a primary dataset that has been collected for the purpose of the research. The results revealed that BayesNet and NaiveBayes are the best classification models to handle the task of the early prediction of Diabetes in Jordan

This study introduces an innovative AI-Driven Decision Support System (DSS) for revolutionizing healthcare diagnostics, emphasizing the use of Explainable AI (XAI) to enhance transparency and trust in medical decision-making. The proposed system integrates machine learning and deep learning algorithms to analyze and interpret complex medical data, providing clinicians with clear, understandable insights that support diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. The system was evaluated on a dataset of 25,000 patient records across multiple diagnostic domains, including cardiology, oncology, and radiology. Key performance metrics showed a significant improvement in diagnostic precision and explain ability. The model achieved an accuracy of 94.8% in diagnosing cardiac conditions, with an explanation accuracy of 92.1%, measured by how well the XAI techniques correlated with expert evaluations. For oncology cases, the system demonstrated an 87.5% reduction in false positives, while maintaining an overall accuracy of 93.2%. In terms of clinician trust, surveys indicated a 35% increase in confidence when using the XAI-based system compared to traditional black-box models. Additionally, the time to generate diagnostic explanations was reduced by 40%, improving clinical workflow and decision-making efficiency. These results underscore the transformative potential of integrating XAI into healthcare decision support systems, providing not only accurate predictions but also interpretable insights that enhance trust and usability in medical diagnostics. © 2024 IEEE.

A refractive index sensor based on a whispering gallery mode resonator is numerically investigated in this paper. Whispering gallery mode resonators confine light and can be used in sensing applications, and this work presents the model built using COMSOL software to analyze their sensing performance. This work has investigated the WGM resonators' response to refractive index changes numerically using 2D models in the refractive index ranges 1.000 and 1.333. The resonator showed a sensitivity of 167 nm/RIU in the refractive index range of 1.3331.4 and a sensitivity of 95 nm/RIU in the refractive index range of 1.000-1.010. The sensing resonator has potential applications for biological and chemical analytes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Deep learning algorithms – typically consisting of a class of deep artificial neural networks (ANNs) trained by a stochastic gradient descent (SGD) optimization method – are nowadays an integral part in many areas of science, industry, and also our day to day life. Roughly speaking, in their most basic form, ANNs can be regarded as functions that consist of a series of compositions of affine-linear functions with multidimensional versions of so-called activation functions. One of the most popular of such activation functions is the rectified linear unit (ReLU) function R ∋ x 7→ max{x, 0} ∈ R. The ReLU function is, however, not differentiable and, typically, this lack of regularity transfers to the cost function of the supervised learning problem under consideration. Regardless of this lack of differentiability issue, deep learning practioners apply SGD methods based on suitably generalized gradients in standard deep learning libraries like TensorFlow or Pytorch. In this work we reveal an accurate and concise mathematical description of such generalized gradients in the training of deep fully-connected feedforward ANNs and we also study the resulting generalized gradient function analytically. Specifically, we provide an appropriate approximation procedure that uniquely describes the generalized gradient function, we prove that the generalized gradients are limiting Fréchet subgradients of the cost functional, and we conclude that the generalized gradients must coincide with the standard gradient of the cost functional on every open sets on which the cost functional is continuously *** Codes 68T07 Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Effective and efficient cyber incident handling is crucial for maintaining the security of information systems and organizational data. This research aims to develop a priority-based cyber incident handling method by adopting the NIST 2.0 framework and utilizing machine learning classification algorithms. This method enables organizations to quickly and accurately identify and respond to incidents based on threat levels and impact, focusing resources on the most critical incidents. The research employs the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification algorithm to determine incident priorities. The study is still developing for handling cyber incidents, followed by testing and evaluating the system prototype within organizations. Initial results indicate that the priority-based approach using the SVM classification algorithm achieves a True Positive (TP) Rate of 0.999 and a False Positive (FP) Rate of 0.008, with a correlation of 98.88%, resulting in excellent performance in identifying positive cases and a low error rate.

Early plant disease diagnosis can help farmers avoid spending money on costly crop pesticides and aid them to boost food production. Scientists have put a lot of effort to classify plant diseases, but it is difficult to quickly locate and identify different crop abnormalities due to the high degree of resemblance between the normal and damaged parts of plant leaves. Additionally, the procedure of detecting plant diseases has been made more challenging due to the extensive color, size, shape, and intensity variations in the background and foreground of the plant images. To address the existing difficulties, we have introduced an effective deep learning (DL) based system called Faster-RCNN o recognize and classify various types of plant diseases. The suggested method consists of 3 basic steps. In order to identify the area of interest in investigated samples, we first create annotations for them which are later used for Faster-RCNN training. The Faster-RCNN model employs the VGG-19 network to extract the relevant keypoints from the given images which are later passed to the regressor and classification units to identify and categorize the various crop diseases using the estimated features. We evaluated our method on a widely used standard plant sample repository called the PlantVillage database, and the findings show that our approach is reliable for classifying plant diseases under a variety of image-capturing scenarios. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Active Queue Management (AQM) methods control the router's buffer to maintain high network performance and control congestion at the router buffer. Random Early Detection (RED) method is the most well-known and the most utilized AQM. RED suffers from a high dropping rate, which motivates the later AQM methods to use more complex processes, which reach the limits of using fuzzy systems as a processing technique. Yet, high computational cost affects the router's performance specifically and the network as a whole, with so-called processing delay. In this paper, a linear version of RED (LRED) is presented to reduce the computational cost of the original RED and maintain the network performance in terms of throughput, delay, dropping, and loss. LRED is built based on two distinctive features, simplifying the congestion indicator calculation and reducing the operations in calculating the dropping probability. The experimental results showed that the proposed method reduces the delay and the processing time while maintaining the throughput and loss of the RED method. © 2022 Slovene Society Informatika. Non-standard word errors in writing sometimes escape the attention of writers or editors due to several factors, including unintentional or limited time in editing. Non-standard word is one of the Indonesian spelling error. Therefore, the application for detecting non-standard words in writing, KEBI, was created to minimize the height of non-standard words in writing. In this study, KEBI was analyzed in terms of application implementation to five various language essay documents as student assignments for Indonesian language courses. There are three things that are analyzed, namely the interface page, processing time, and the level of accuracy of detection and correction using the precision and recall method (confusion matrix). The overall research method includes literature study, data collection, testing, measurement of display, time, and accuracy. Based on the results of the analysis, the interface page display shows good quality. The processing time required by KEBI to detect non-standard words is in the range of 0.02-0.06 seconds. Meanwhile, KEBI's non-standard word detection accuracy rate is 86%, while KEBI's non-standard word correction accuracy rate is 90%. © 2021 IEEE.

This research work presents a new method for improving individualized treatment for patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) by combining Internet of Things (IoT) wearables with deep learning (DL) methods, namely Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. MS is a long-term autoimmune disorder that affects the central nervous system. It is marked by unexpected episodes of worsening symptoms and periods of improvement, highlighting the need for tailored therapy. The widespread use of IoT devices presents unique possibilities for the ongoing monitoring of many physiological and activity measurements important to the development and symptoms of MS. Using LSTM networks, which are very proficient in analyzing temporal sequences, create a prediction model that may anticipate exacerbations of MS symptoms and customize therapies appropriately. Through the analysis of longitudinal data obtained from IoT devices, our model acquires knowledge about unique patterns of illness development and treatment response. This knowledge allows us to create customized care plans for individuals. These paths include proactive activities such as adjusting medication, making lifestyle changes, and seeking early medical advice. The goal is to reduce the worsening of symptoms, improve the quality of life, and optimize treatment results for individuals with MS. The proposed method shows potential for transforming the treatment of MS by offering proactive and patient-centered therapy adaptable to individual requirements and the dynamics of the illness. © 2024 IEEE.

There are many different sorts of data that can be gathered and analyzed, including pictures, videos, texts, speeches, music, and other noises, Video content, for example, generally includes minimum some types of audible sounds or any type of visual image, and often also useful text data that can be of some specific type of titles or subtitles, which may consist of some unique type text language which is different type of speech. 'Modality' is basically defines each different type of acquisition strategy. As natural phenomena tend to be quite complex, it is unusual for a single modality to provide exhaustive understanding of the phenomenon of interest. The process of combining and interpreting the useful data between the same modal or in different modal, and also interaction with the human beings with multi-modal data fusion &the accurate and deep interpretation and understanding of data obtained from the combining process from it, are central to the research challenge on multimodal data analysis. We contend that many of these challenges are shared by researchers in different fields. Both the 'why' and the 'how' of data fusion are addressed in this paper. Various examples from the realms of science and technology serve as inspiration for the first problem, which is then suggested by a various types of mathematical based model framework demonstrating the utility of data fusion. To solve the second problem, we introduce the idea of 'diversity' as a central concept and discuss several data-driven solutions based on matrix and tensor decompositions, highlighting how they take into account diversity in the underlying data sets to address the aforementioned issues, this research suggests a novel approach for modeling multi data fusion implemented using sparse technique and structural analysis. © 2023 IEEE.
