On Mauritania’s northern coast, wind and solar resources are abundant and must be used effectively. These resources have the potential to completely or partially replace the existing or projected diesel generators. The main objective of this case study is to study the possibility of using a hybrid system (HS) of the type (diesel, wind and storage). The most important part of this case study intended for this area will be to add the solar in a first phase and then the incorporation of an interconnection with the nearby network in a second phase. This interconnection will be secured by mean of medium voltage lines of 33 kV, where the nearest point is located 35 km away. Indeed, the study of the optimization model is carried out through Homer, which was developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory [NREL]. Thus, it should be noted that the HS is analyzed on the basis of costs ($/kW) and price ($/kWh) and greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, in order to achieve these techno-economic optimization objectives, this paper introduces a sensitivity analysis that has been proposed to determine the effect of costs on each HS configuration. In the end, HSs are needed for maximum use of renewable resources at the studied site for an uninterrupted power supply.

The α-decay fine structure of 179Hg and 177Au was studied by means of decay spectroscopy. Two experiments were performed at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä (JYFL), Finland, utilizing the recoil separator RITU and a digital data acquisition system. The heavy-ion induced fusion-evaporation reactions 3682Kr + 44100Ru and 3888Kr + 4292Mo were used to produce the 179Hg and 177Au nuclei, respectively. Studying the evaporation residues (ER, recoils)-α1-α2 correlations and α-γ coincidences, a new α decay with Eα = 6156(10) keV was observed from 179Hg. This decay populates the (9/2-) excited state at an excitation energy of 131.3(5) keV in 175Pt. The internal conversion coefficient for the 131.3(5) keV transition de-exciting this state was measured for the first time. Regarding the 177Au nucleus, a new α decay with Eα = 5998(9) keV was observed to populate the 156.1(6) keV excited state in 173Ir. Two de-excitation paths were observed from this excited state. Moreover, a new 215.7(13) keV transition was observed to depopulate the 424.4(13) keV excited state in 173Ir. Properties of the 179Hg and 177Au α decays were examined in a framework of reduced widths and hindrance factors. Intra-particle entanglement of individual particles such as neutrons could enable another class of scattering probes that are sensitive to entanglement in quantum systems and materials. In this work, we present experimental results demonstrating quantum contextuality as a result of entanglement between the spin and energy modes (i.e., degrees of freedom) of single neutrons in a beam using a pair of resonant radio-frequency neutron spin flippers in the MIEZE configuration (Modulated IntEnsity with Zero Effort). We verified the mode-entanglement by measuring a Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) contextuality witness S defined in the spin and energy subsystems, observing a clear breach of the classical bound of |S| ≤ 2, obtaining S = 2.40 ± 0.02. These entangled beams could enable alternative approaches for directly probing dynamics and entanglement in quantum materials whose low-energy excitation scales match those of the incident entangled neutron. Let C and D be hereditary graph classes. Consider the following problem: given a graph G ∈ D, find a largest, in terms of the number of vertices, induced subgraph of G that belongs to C. We prove that it can be solved in 2o(n) time, where n is the number of vertices of G, if the following conditions are satisfied: the graphs in C are sparse, i.e., they have linearly many edges in terms of the number of vertices;the graphs in D admit balanced separators of size governed by their density, e.g., O(∆) or O(√m), where ∆ and m denote the maximum degree and the number of edges, respectively;and the considered problem admits a single-exponential fixed-parameter algorithm when parameterized by the treewidth of the input graph. This leads, for example, to the following corollaries for specific classes C and D: a largest induced forest in a Pt-free graph can be found in 2Õ(n2/3) time, for every fixed t;and a largest induced planar graph in a string graph can be found in 2Õ(n3/4) time. With biodiversity loss escalating globally, a step change is needed in our capacity to accurately monitor species populations across ecosystems. Robotic and autonomous systems (RAS) offer technological solutions that may substantially advance terrestrial biodiversity monitoring, but this potential is yet to be considered systematically. We used a modified Delphi technique to synthesize knowledge from 98 biodiversity experts and 31 RAS experts, who identified the major methodological barriers that currently hinder monitoring, and explored the opportunities and challenges that RAS offer in overcoming these barriers. Biodiversity experts identified four barrier categories: site access, species and individual identification, data handling and storage, and power and network availability. Robotics experts highlighted technologies that could overcome these barriers and identified the developments needed to facilitate RAS-based autonomous biodiversity monitoring. Some existing RAS could be optimized relatively easily to survey species but would require development to be suitable for monitoring of more ‘difficult’ taxa and robust enough to work under uncontrolled conditions within ecosystems. Other nascent technologies (for instance, new sensors and biodegradable robots) need accelerated research. Overall, it was felt that RAS could lead to major progress in monitoring of terrestrial biodiversity by supplementing rather than supplanting existing methods. Transdisciplinarity needs to be fostered between biodiversity and RAS experts so that future ideas and technologies can be codeveloped effectively. © The Author(s) 2025.

This paper deals with optical code division multiple access (optical-CDMA) and provides a general analysis of multi-mode fiber (MMF). The purpose of this work is to classify the works in the literature that are related to Optical-CDMA based on MMF and to find the limitation of the researches done in this field. Several challenges that occur in the medium such as multiple-access interference (MAI), pulse dispersion (PD) and nonlinearity in optical fibers deteriorate system performances and become a major performance-limiting factor.

Observation has been made that in Arab countries, students find it challenging to learn to program in a different language other than Arabic. Existing literature contains only a few Arabic programming languages, most of which have never been or have partially been executed. In this article, a novel Arabic programming language known as Alf..Eih language is proposed. The proposed programming language is to be used in teaching pupils and schoolchildren in Arabic countries programming. This Arabic Programming language converts the Arabic language presumed to code in (C++ language) with its implementation. After the code written in Arabic passes through the first three stages of compiler (lexical, syntax and semantic), the final phase converts code to (C++). Alf..Eih language covers many of the directives in the presumed Arabic Language such as, header file, functions, if condition, loops and etc. © 2019 Science Press. All rights reserved.

Predicting the impact of research institutions is an important tool for decision makers, such as resource allocation for funding bodies. Despite significant effort of adopting quantitative indicators to measure the impact of research institutions, little is known that how the impact of institutions evolves in time. Previous researches have focused on using the historical relevance scores of different institutions to predict potential future impact for these institutions. In this paper, we explore the factors that can drive the changes of the impact of institutions, finding that the impact of an institution, as measured by the number of the accepted papers of the institution, more is determined by the authors’ influence of the institution. Geographic location of institution feature and state GDP can drive the changes of the impact of institutions. Identifying these features allows us to formulate a predictive model that integrates the effects of individual ability, location of institution, and state GDP. The model unveils the underlying factors driving the future impact of institutions, which can be used to accurately predict the future impact of institutions. Copyright © 2020, The Authors.
