In this paper, we show that "L-complete null hypersurfaces" (i.e. ruled hypersurfaces foliated by entirety of light-like lines) as wave fronts in the (n + 1)-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space are canonically induced by hypersurfaces in the n-dimensional Euclidean space. As an application, we show that most of null wave fronts can be realized as restrictions of certain L-complete null wave fronts. Green Space Type and Healthy Ageing in Place: An Australian Longitudinal Study

There is a lack of research on the long term association of green space types with a person’s healthy ageing score (HAS). We investigated the association of continuous exposure to green space types such as grass, low-lying vegetation, and tree cover on healthy ageing, including its functional capacity and resilience dimensions, while accounting for relocation. This is a longitudinal study of a cohort of 22,715 New South Wales residents aged over 45 who participated in the Sax Institute’s 45 and Up Study living in Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle. Green space exposure was measured by tree canopy, low-lying vegetation and open grass percentage within 1.6-km road network distance buffers at baseline and second follow-up. Healthy ageing outcomes included functional capacity, resilience and HAS. Longitudinal models of healthy ageing on green space types were fit with controls for socioeconomic confounders. Women who did not relocate were associated with a lower functional capacity (β;95%CI: -0.10;-0.15,-0.05) and higher resilience (0.11;0.08, 0.14) compared to those who relocated. Apart from age, personal characteristics did not explain the variation in healthy ageing outcomes for participants who moved. For participants who did not relocate, grass cover of 30% was associated with a decreased functional capacity (-0.22;-0.41,-0.04) and HAS (-0.31;-0.56,-0.05). Also, 5-9% low-lying vegetation was associated with a decline in the functional capacity (-0.09;-0.15, -0.03) and HAS (-0.09;-0.17, -0.01) of participants who stayed but improved the resilience (0.28;0.01, 0.55) of participants who relocated. Green space comprising over 30% tree cover appears to be most beneficial for functional capacity (0.42;0.31, 0.53), resilience (0.19;0.13, 0.25) and HAS ( 0.60;0.45, 0.75). Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques are increasingly used in computer-aided diagnostic tools in medicine. These techniques can also help to identify Hypertension (HTN) in its early stage, as it is a global health issue. Automated HTN detection uses socio-demographic, clinical data, and physiological signals. Additionally, signs of secondary HTN can also be identified using various imaging modalities. This systematic review examines related work on automated HTN detection. We identify datasets, techniques, and classifiers used to develop AI models from clinical data, physiological signals, and fused data (a combination of both). Image-based models for assessing secondary HTN are also reviewed. The majority of the studies have primarily utilized single-modality approaches, such as biological signals (e.g., electrocardiography, photoplethysmography), and medical imaging (e.g., magnetic resonance angiography, ultrasound). Surprisingly, only a small portion of the studies (22 out of 122) utilized a multi-modal fusion approach combining data from different sources. Even fewer investigated integrating clinical data, physiological signals, and medical imaging to understand the intricate relationships between these factors. Future research directions are discussed that could build better healthcare systems for early HTN detection through more integrated modeling of multi-modal data sources. © 2024 The Authors

Area studies is an interdisciplinary study of the humanities adjacent to various research fields such as social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and health. If focusing on humanities sciences, researchers' primary research resources have been text media, such as historical records, literary works, research papers, newspapers, and magazines. Researchers have engaged in analyses by reading the texts carefully as part of their research activities. However, with the spread of the Internet, Web data have become an inevitable source for area studies. We have explored new directions for area studies based on informatics compatible with big data and the Internet age. However, the low accuracy of place name extraction from texts and their place identification on a map hinders text processing, making it impossible to analyze big text data on the Web automatically. Using BiLSTM-CRF and a Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese, our previous study realized approximately 0.9 of BiLSTM-CRF recognition accuracy, which demonstrated the effectiveness of BiLSTM-CRF. Our method could extract place names properly, but not enough to correctly identify their places on the map. Currently, we are trying a simple strategy: We assume that the locations of place names appearing in the same news article are close to each other. Thus, we compute the weighted average of all candidate coordinates of all place names in a news article as the pseudo center, then, as for each place name, choose the coordinate with the shortest distance from the pseudo center. This paper introduces the above methods and results in detail.

This study gives us an expression of non-integer order in mathematics via fractional Caputo operator just for the broadcast development of different emotions under emergencies due to any situation or some disease. In this work, we fear the effects of COVID-19 in panic situations, considering incidence data by using power law kernels under a fractal fractional operator. The effects of the emotion that causes COVID-19 are also evaluated locally and globally using stability. Based on the fractional order model of COVID-19 viral infection, equilibrium points devoid of illness, well-posedness, uniqueness, and biological viability of solutions are all demonstrated. The effects of the COVID-19 model's sensitivity analysis with treatment were also investigated. Unique solution and Picards stability of iterative scheme verified by using the fixed point theory concept. To discover the solution of the fractional order system and evaluate the effect of fractional parameters, an advanced numerical approach is applied. In the simulation, all classes are shown to have convergent properties and to hold their positions over time, which accurately depicts how COVID-19 infection behaves in practice. We find a more comparable outcome when comparing non-integer orders to integer orders, which supports the non-integer order's position. This model's tools seem to be reasonably strong and capable of creating the predicted theoretical conditions for the problem. © 2025 The Authors

Lightness enhancement method for low illumination night-time image

Computer vision applications under low illumination, such as night-time images, possess a difficult challenge. Night-time images suffer from the loss of visibility due to inadequate illumination, which affects the performance of outdoor computer vision systems. Thus, to improve the reliability of the outdoor computer vision systems during night-time, it is essential to enhance low illumination night-time images. In this paper, we propose a lightness enhancement method that removes the night-time color cast. The proposed method compensates for the red, green, and blue color channels of the night-time image by adding a fraction of each channel to itself. Then, it averages out the compensated color channel values with the compensated mean values. It effectively removes the night-time color cast and increases the image visibility. Experiments are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the results are compared with two night-time image enhancement methods using objective and subjective evaluations. The results show that the proposed method produced enhanced images with better image visibility than the other two methods.

The $$\upalpha $$ -decay fine structure of $$^{179}$$ Hg and $$^{177}$$ Au was studied by means of decay spectroscopy. Two experiments were performed at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä (JYFL), Finland, utilizing the recoil separator RITU and a digital data acquisition system. The heavy-ion induced fusion-evaporation reactions $$^{82}_{36}$$ Kr + $$^{100}_{44}$$ Ru and $$^{88}_{38}$$ Kr + $$^{92}_{42}$$ Mo were used to produce the $$^{179}$$ Hg and $$^{177}$$ Au nuclei, respectively. Studying the evaporation residues (ER, recoils)- $$\alpha _1$$ - $$\alpha _2$$ correlations and $$\upalpha $$ - $$\gamma $$ coincidences, a new $$\upalpha $$ decay with E $$_\alpha $$ = 6156(10) keV was observed from $$^{179}$$ Hg. This decay populates the (9/2 $$^-$$ ) excited state at an excitation energy of 131.3(5) keV in $$^{175}$$ Pt. The internal conversion coefficient for the 131.3(5) keV transition de-exciting this state was measured for the first time. Regarding the $$^{177}$$ Au nucleus, a new $$\upalpha $$ decay with E $$_\alpha $$ = 5998(9) keV was observed to populate the 156.1(6) keV excited state in $$^{173}$$ Ir. Two de-excitation paths were observed from this excited state. Moreover, a new 215.7(13) keV transition was observed to depopulate the 424.4(13) keV excited state in $$^{173}$$ Ir. Properties of the $$^{179}$$ Hg and $$^{177}$$ Au $$\upalpha $$ decays were examined in a framework of reduced widths and hindrance factors. For clarity and simplicity, the spin and parity assignments (e.g. $$J^{\pi }$$ ) are presented without brackets throughout the text.

This research study proposes a novel hyperchaotic finance system with profit margin and then utilizes the Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) to tackle the solution of the associated Caputo-derivative based fractional-order hyperchaotic finance system with profit margin. Numerical simulations and analyses, such as the evaluation of Lyapunov exponents (LE), the creation of bifurcation diagrams (BD), the complexity analysis (CA), and the 0-1 test, are used to get a full picture of the system. The results of our study demonstrate the occurrence of periodic, chaotic, and hyperchaotic dynamics in the system. Furthermore, the overall criteria for the existence and the uniqueness of the exact solutions for Caputo fractional-order models are presented. In addition, we present a control methodology for the fractional-order hyperchaotic financial system utilizing the Laplace transform and linear feedback control. Significantly, our research showcases a noteworthy correlation between the analytical results and numerical simulations, emphasizing the soundness and effectiveness of our methodology. © 2024 The Author(s)

The pandemic of Covid-19 has caused a shift of paradigm of education, from face-to-face to e-learning. E-learning leads to an escalation in digitalization of handwritten documents because it requires submission of homework and assignments through online. To help teachers in checking digitalized handwritten homework, this paper proposes an automatic checking system based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) for handwritten numeral recognition. The CNN is used to recognize four arithmetic operations in mathematical questions consisting of addition, deduction, multiplication and division. The performance CNN in handwritten numeral recognition have been optimized in terms of activation function and gradient descent algorithm. The proposed CNN is also trained and tested with the MNIST handwritten data set. The experimental results show that the recognition accuracy the improved CNN improves to a certain extent as compared to before optimization.
