This study addresses the affine formation maneuver control of cooperative multi-agent systems (MAS) having periodic inter-agent communication for both static and dynamic leader cases. Here, we focus on the leader-follower MASs. The primary aim of the control system is to steer the entire collection of agents to produce required patterns (geometric) along with any required maneuver through the direct control of only few a selected agents referred to as leaders. Most of the existing works are constrained to either the individual agents communicate with each other in continuous-time or the sample-data scenario where the leaders are stationary or have constant acceleration or velocities. Here, we consider the scenarios where the velocities of the leaders can be time-varying or constant. Here, different cases are addressed and some control laws are proposed. Conditions are established to help guarantee the overall stability of the systems. A simulation study is employed for the illustration of our proposed laws.

Domain Migration Representation Learning for Blind MR Image Super-Resolution

Recently, magnetic resonance imaging has been widely used in clinical treatment to assist doctors in diagnosis because of its high resolution of soft tissue and no radiation. However, limited by imaging equipment and imaging time, the resolution of MR imaging is low. The previous super-resolution algorithms used for MR images use paired datasets to generate down-sampled images by artificially assuming the image degradation process, and forming a sample pair to monitor and train the super-resolution network. However, the super-resolution network obtained by this way will cause serious degradation of the network performance in practical application. In this paper, we propose a blind super-resolution framework DMN based on domain migration, which decouples the blind super-resolution network with the idea of domain migration, and avoids the false detail generation problem of the blind super-resolution network in the MR images super-resolution task through independent training. At the same time, we propose a multi-level parallel transformer feature enhancement module MPTB, which takes noise as the original input and embeds noise features step by step to enhance the fitting ability of the network while reducing the complexity of the network structure design. Besides, we also use the k-space loss function to form a constraint function, so that the domain migration network can fully consider the k-space characteristics of MR images. The experimental results on the MR images of the knee joint and brain in the fastMRI dataset show that the super-resolution performance of our proposed DMN network is better than the previous super-resolution networks. © 2023, The Authors. This paper considers the distributed leader-follower stress-matrix-based affine formation control problem of discrete-time linear multi-agent systems with static and dynamic leaders. In leader-follower multi-agent formation control, the aim is to drive a set of agents comprising leaders and followers to form any desired geometric pattern and simultaneously execute any required manoeuvre by controlling only a few agents denoted as leaders. Existing works in literature are mostly limited to the cases where the agents’ inter-agent communications are either in the continuous-time settings or the sampled-data cases where the leaders are constrained to constant (or zero) velocities or accelerations. Here, we relax these constraints and study the discrete-time cases where the leaders can have stationary or time-varying velocities. We propose control laws in the study of different situations and provide some sufficient conditions to guarantee the overall system stability. Application of Machine Learning to Performance Assessment for a class of PID-based control Systems

In this paper, a novel machine learning derived control performance assessment (CPA) classification system is proposed. It is dedicated for a wide class of PID-based control industrial loops with processes exhibiting dynamical properties close to second order plus delay time (SOPDT). The proposed concept is very general and easy to configure to distinguish between acceptable and poor closed loop performance. This approach allows for determining the best (but also robust and practically achievable) closed loop performance based on very popular and intuitive closed loop quality factors. Training set can be automatically derived off-line using a number of different, diverse control performance indices (CPIs) used as discriminative features of the assessed control system. The proposed extended set of CPIs is discussed with comprehensive performance assessment of different machine learning based classification methods and practical application of the suggested solution. As a result, a general-purpose CPA system is derived that can be immediately applied in practice without any preliminary or additional learning stage during normal closed loop operation. Veterinary titanium (Ti) real dental implants were anodized in calcium hypophosphite solution to obtain a porous, bioactive layer. The anodized implant surface was covered by a poly(sebacic anhydride) (PSBA) layer with amoxicillin. SEM analysis showed an irregular distribution of the antibiotic on the surface. However, confocal microscopy images revealed the formation of a uniform polymer layer. The thickness of the oxide and polymer layers was similar, between 6-9 μm. PSBA is an easy, hydrolysable polymer. After the polymer with amoxicillin was immersed in phosphate buffered solution (PBS) solution for 1 h, more than 53% of hydrolysis products were detected by 1H NMR spectroscopy. After 9 days of polymer immersion, the hydrolysis product content was more than 67%. Drug release was analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). After 1 h of implant immersion in PBS an average of 6.0 μg/mL of amoxicillin was released. Importantly, the released concentration of amoxicillin was enough to inhibit S. aureus (ATCC 25923) and S. epidermidis (ATCC 12228) growth and decrease their adhesion to the implant surface. This paper presents the cytocompatibility results of PSBA, amoxicillin, and extracts collected from the implants exposed to mouse fibroblast L929 and osteoblast-like MG-63 cells. PSBA concentrations up to 1% did not significantly affect cell viability. Amoxicillin concentrations up to 150 μl/mL were cytocompatible with both cells line. Cell viability was greater than 70% for both cell lines after 24 h of treatment with extracts from modified implants that were immersed in PBS for 72 h prior to viability experiments. This work presents a simple method to obtain a hybrid, bacteriostatic and biocompatible layer on long-term implant surfaces. These techniques may find application in the surface treatment of various Ti implants with a variety of shapes and sizes. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Currently, the use of cyber-physical systems is becoming widespread in various fields, primarily, because they enable many innovative functionalities through their networking. These systems include complex computation elements that interacts with the physical environment through sensors or actuators. Their solutions are based on sharing of hardware equipment and software services, targeting to provide added value proposition for various customers. The research and development in this domain are going on not only in the technical direction, but is also targeting the value creation for customers, in a technical and business-oriented manner. This paper presents a cyber-physical systems-based business model realized through services composition. The service composition framework integrates Web services which can be interconnected and can be accessed by mobile clients through smartphones, on mobile and wireless communications channels. The response time for multiuser requests for services access is evaluated, because it is an important quality of service performance criteria of our e-business model service composition framework. The results are promising.

Discretisation often constitutes a part of initial data preparation stage. It translates continuous domain of features into granular, by assigning a number of intervals to represent attributes' values by nominal categories. Typically all real-valued features are subjected to transformations, regardless of their characteristics. The paper presents research on discretisation executed with a discerning approach. To all available attributes, feature selection mechanisms were employed, in the form of rankings that order variables based on their importance. Exploiting this discovered knowledge on attributes, discretisation was then driven by a ranking, and either highest or lowest ranking features were selected for transformation. The influence of selective discretisation on the performance of classification systems was studied for three popular inducers. The procedure was employed in the field of stylometry, and a task of authorship recognition, considered as a binary classification with balanced classes. The experiments show that discretisation based on importance of features can lead to better performance than in the case of transformations applied to all attributes. © 2020 The Authors. This study presents a dipper-throated-based ant colony optimization (DTACO) with the Seasonal Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with eXogenous factor (SARIMAX) model (DTACO+SARIMAX) to forecast monkeypox cases. The work optimizes the SARIMAX model using grid search cross-validation and fine-tunes its hyperparameters using DTACO to improve prediction accuracy. The suggested model's consistency and accuracy are considerable compared to previous studies. Comparisons with state-of-the-art models validate the proposed model's predictions. DTACO+SARIMAX can be used to control disease and monitor monkeypox. Healthcare organizations and governments can better manage and track the pandemic's course by offering accurate predictions, reducing public panic, and enabling effective pandemic planning. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests are conducted on the proposed DTACO-SARIMAX model and compared models.
