In this work, the result of the initial attempt to propose an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) digital security and interoperability standard to support the mobility among ASEAN countries is presented. Literature reviews on existing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) related digital technologies of six ASEAN member countries are conducted. Several concerns related to creating/implementing the ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard are discussed including the technology accessing concern, the data security and privacy concern, and the data interoperability and availability concern. The proposed solution toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard is then presented. To evaluate the proposed solution, a survey has been conducted on representatives of nine ASEAN countries on four main issues including the security standards and requirements, the interoperability standard and requirements, the certifications, and the implementation challenges. According to the survey and the discussion, seven recommendations were proposed toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard. First, each country collects and maintains the data of its own citizens and also provides a method to authenticate and access the data by authorized requests. Second, QR code standard or ASEAN QR code standard must be agreed upon so that it can be authenticated and verified by ASEAN countries. Third, health risk assessment must be agreed upon to be used. Forth, the security standard, the data, the data format and the exchange protocol must be agreed upon at the ASEAN policy level while adoption of international standards as an implementation guideline will ease of the process and neutralize different requirements from various countries. Fifth, any accountability of incidents must be agreed upon at the ASEAN policy level. Sixth, certification might be extended to certification of risk assessment for organizations, products or

The neural correlates of face individuation – the acquisition of memory representations for novel faces – have been studied only in coarse detail and disregarding individual differences between learners. In their seminal study, (Tanaka, Curran, Porterfield, & Collins, 2006) required the identification of a particular novel face across 70 trials and found that the N250 component in the ERP became more negative from the first to the second half of the experiment, where it reached a similar amplitude as a well-known face. We were unable to directly replicate this finding in our study when we used the original spilt of trials. However, when we applied a different split of trials we observed very similar changes in N250 amplitude. Then, we developed and applied a new two-step explorative-confirmative non-parametric method based on permutation testing to determine the time course of face individuation in individual participants based on single trial N250 amplitudes. We show that the assumption of a steep initial increase of N250 amplitude across multiple presentations of the target face, followed by a plateau, yields plausible results in fitting linear trends for most participants. The transition point from initial acquisition to the plateau phase differed strongly between participants and tended to be earlier when performance in target face recognition was better. Hence, face individuation may be accounted for by a biphasic process of early, fast acquisition, followed by a slower, asymptotic consolidation or maintenance phase. The current approach might be fruitfully applied to further investigations into face individuation and their neural correlates. © 2020, CC BY-NC-ND.

Background: Systems Medicine is a novel approach to medicine, that is, an interdisciplinary field that considers the human body as a system, composed of multiple parts and of complex relationships at multiple levels, and further integrated into an environment. Exploring Systems Medicine implies understanding and combining concepts coming from diametral different fields, including medicine, biology, statistics, modeling and simulation, and data science. Such heterogeneity leads to semantic issues, which may slow down implementation and fruitful interaction between these highly diverse fields. Methods: In this review, we collect and explain more than100 terms related to Systems Medicine. These include both modeling and data science terms and basic systems medicine terms, along with some synthetic definitions, examples of applications, and lists of relevant references. Installing smart meters to publish real-time electricity rates has been controversial while it might lead to privacy concerns. Dispatched rates include fine-grained data on aggregate electricity consumption in a zone and could potentially be used to infer a household's pattern of energy use or its occupancy. In this paper, we propose Blowfish privacy to protect the occupancy state of the houses connected to a smart grid. First, we introduce a Markov model of the relationship between electricity rate and electricity consumption. Next, we develop an algorithm that perturbs electricity rates before publishing them to ensure users' privacy. Last, the proposed algorithm is tested on data inspired by household occupancy models and its performance is compared to an alternative solution.

This paper presents a method for the automatic identification and classification of red cells in different classes of interest for diagnosis using microscopic images of blood smear. The whole system uses different image processing techniques such as binarization, contrast enhancement, noise elimination, morphological operations (dilatation, erosion), labeling and extraction of some features of interest (area, perimeter, diameter). Using this information, some factors (form factor, circularity factor, and deviation factor) involved in the classification of red cells are calculated. The classification process has two phases: the first separates red cells in normal and abnormal type and the second classifies the abnormal in three subclasses. This system does not aim to replace the pathologist, but to assist him / her and to improve the execution time of these types of analyzes.

Sampled channel impulse response (CIR) of a sparse propagation environment usually has a structure of compressible signal, which can be approximated by a sparse one using compressive sensing methods like Orthogonal Greedy Algorithms (OGA). An accuracy of the estimated CIR taps depend on ambient noise and the CIR taps that have not been recovered yet. The Mean Square Error (MSE) is a popular measure to quantify the identification error between the estimated CIR and the actual one. A theoretical study of the MSE metric and some average properties of the OGA residual error have contributed to propose a MSE-based rule to control an iterative process of greedy methods. The conducted numerical experiments show that the suggested rule, applied to stop the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm, provides a fine control over the identification process of the compressible CIRs.

The main goal of the paper is to study the equilibria of a nonlinear system, proving the existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium point in the positive ortant. We also provide numerically tractable conditions (by using Linear Matrix Inequalities techniques) to check the asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. The authors created a convenient and easy to use tool for calculating basic Ni-P resistive layer parameters, namely surface resistance and TCR of test resistor, based on chemical metallization parameters. The program allows calculating basic values characterizing the technological process of Ni-P resistive layer formation by means of chemical metallization. The values are temperature and acidity of the metallization bath. The values are calculated for a given level of surface resistance of Ni-P resistive layer and defined required range of changes of TCR of test resistor with the Ni-P layer. The calculations are possible for surface resistance values in the range of 0.5 Ω/ 2.5 Ω/. As the program was developed on the basis of experimental data, parameters of resistors produced using the mathematical model are in practice coherent with expected results. The best coherence is achieved for simultaneous simulation of surface resistance and TCR. Very good results are also obtained if one wants to use a metallization bath of a temperature from the (333÷353) K range in order to obtain the required resistor parameters. © 2017 IMAPS Europe.

A comparative evaluation of the different, very popular powder magnetic materials for a voltage source inverter output filter coil core is presented. The basic continuous model of the inverter is simply based on the output filter transfer function. This model is used in the majority of inverter control designs. That is why the change of inductance and the increase of the equivalent serial resistance that is caused by power losses in the core and any other parasitic parameters of the coil should be known in the operating point because they depend on the frequency and the amplitude of the magnetising current. The theoretical calculation of these parameters variability is very inaccurate because of the complex voltage waveform on the coil, so the direct measurements of the inverter control transfer function are presented in aim to enable the choice of the most useful magnetic material for the inverter design. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2017.
