The paper deals with a mathematical model of switched reluctance motor, with stator of on induction motor. The parameters of this model were determined experimentally. The motor winding were supplied from different frequencies AC voltage source. Based on the measurements of current and voltage equivalent resistance and inductance of motor windings as a function of frequency were determined using the least squares method. The measurements for different rotation angle of the rotor were carried out. The measured resistance value was significantly higher than the value of the winding resistance because of “iron losses”. The losses are modeled as the losses of a single turn wound on the rotor core, representing the eddy currents circuit. The losses are dependent on the angle of the rotor rotation relative to the stator. Based on the relationship between the equivalent inductance and resistance of the motor measured and specified of the model, the parameters were determined.

In this paper, we propose an approach for an online human daily activity recognition system using motion sensor data. From the sensor readings, the system decides which activity is performed when the values change. It uses the previous measurements to interpret the current ones, without the need to wait for future information. The contributions of this study relies on the presentation of two methods to extract features from the sequence of sensor events, a clustering method to handle missing activity labels in dataset and an incremental learning method to deal with complexity and time spent in training since our system works on streaming data. Our methods are evaluated on publicly available real environment datasets.

The aim of this article is to develop optical aberration correcting methods using adaptive optics for co focal microscopy in imaging systems. In order to compensate the aberrations, a dynamic element, consisting of a deformable mirror, was used. The correction is performed by controlling the surface of the deformable mirror, in order to improve the overall system image resolution. Moreover, the wave front sensor less system case was considered. By combining the automaticcontrol algorithms with the physics laws, quite accurate estimations can be obtained, while testing several different scenarios.

The paper covers issue of conducting advanced research of electrical race car participating in international competition called Sileverline Corporate Challenge. Process of designing race cars in Silesian Greenpower team is aided by a professional engine test stand built particularly in purpose of this research. Phase of testing and simulation is an important part of the implementation of new technologies. Properly developed solutions and test procedures are able to significantly shorten development time and reduce design costs. Testing process must be controlled by a modular and flexible application, easy to modify and ensuring safety. This paper describes the concept of object-oriented programming in LabVIEW and exemplary architecture of object-oriented control application designed to control engine test stand of the electrical race car. Eventually, the task of application will be to steer the electromagnetic brake and the engine load torque to perform according to data from the actual race track. During the designing process of the car, minimizing energy losses and maximizing powertrain efficiency are the main aspects taken into consideration. One of the crucial issues to accomplish these goals is to maintain optimal performance of the motor by applying effective cooling. The paper covers the research verifying the effectiveness of the cooling system.

This paper presents a novel document clustering algorithm that represents documents as a time series of words. Document clustering is very important due to the fact that it permits us to group them based on some certain criteria, especially nowadays when a large number of articles are available. The timed series representation of the document instead of the vector model permits us to consider a new algorithm for the computation of the distance between documents: dynamic time warping. This novel representation together with the dynamic time warping algorithm represents the foundation for computing the similarity and the clustering of the documents. The clustering algorithm used is hierarchical clustering. This novel clustering method of texts is applied on named entities and on the parts of speech of the words that compose the documents. As test data we are using the Reuters corpus of newspaper articles.

Assembly lines are popular as production layout since more than 100 years. In the 50ies last century researches started to assign tasks to the workstations with assembly line balancing rules. Since that time we can find thousands of journals and conferences papers which deal with the problem of assembly line balancing (ALBP) in different layouts and with different constraints. Author of this paper study a case from Polish factory. The producer recognized that during the manufacturing process occurs a lot of defects in assembly and the number of sold final products fell down. The engineers added 2 quality inspection stations between workstations of the production line. In the paper influence of structure changes on balance are shown. The results are compared with different quality performances (line efficiency, smoothness index, time of the line). At the end final remarks are presented.
