The paper presents analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by brand new wind turbine from REPOWER type MM92, rated power 2 MW. As results the amplitude spectra of noise for three chosen wind speed values are presented. Additionally, distributions of the sound pressure level with dependence on wind speed for selected resonant and median frequency values are presented. For chosen frequencies linear regression analysis was performed and subjected for a detailed evaluation. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

The paper presents the range and possibilities of using expert systems at diagnostic measurements of insulation systems of power appliances taken by the acoustic emission (AE) method. Multi-parametric descriptors characterizing the AE signals, which can be used in the knowledge base as criteria making the identification of basic partial discharge forms (PDs) possible, have been characterized in detail. Analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by high-power wind turbine Vensys type 62, which is operated for five years with an electrical capacity of 1.2 MW, are presented in the paper. Frequency and time-frequency spectrograms calculated for recorded low-frequency signals with respect to all registered changes of electrical power generated and the number of rotor revolutions per minute are presented. All measured sound pressure levels have been evaluated with and without the use of G weighting curve, which have helped to determine the size of infrasound impact of turbines and to analyze the influence of regarded parameters on this impact range of changes. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

This paper presents a single multiplicative neuron model based on a polynomial architecture. The proposed neuron model consists of a non-linear aggregation function based on the concept of generalized mean of all multiplicative inputs. This neuron model has the same number of parameters as the single multiplicative neuron model (SMN). The SMN model is a special case of the proposed generalized mean single multiplicative neuron (GMSMN) model. The structure of this model is simpler than higher-order neuron model. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed neuron model is better than SMN model.

The paper presents the performance of the switched reluctance motor. The calculation of the magnetic field and electromagnetic torque were performed using the Femm program, based on the finite element method. The calculation results are in good agreement with experimented data obtained on the prototype motor. The presented calculations enables to determine the output electromechanical parameters of the motor already being in the stage of the design.

Banyan networks are commonly used as interconnection structures in ATM switches. This paper is concerned with the replication technique which was applied to the standard banyan networks. We apply this technique to the plane interconnected parallel network (PIPN) which is a switch introduced previously as a better banyan-based interconnection structure. The normalized throughput of unbuffered and buffered replicated PIPN is analyzed analytically under uniform traffic model. We apply the simulation technique to verify the analytical results under the uniform traffic model and to study the performance of different heterogeneous traffic models. The performance is shown to increase significantly when the replicated PIPN is used which supports the idea of using this switch as a new high-performance ATM switch.

Machine learning algorithms have recently become very popular for different tasks involving data analysis, classification or prediction. They can provide valuable knowledge for very large sets of data and can reach very good accuracy. However, most algorithms are sensitive to the nature of the data sets, as well as different calibrations which can lead to large differences in performance, accuracy or false positives. In this paper, a classification solution for imbalanced data sets containing information about defects of various trees is presented. The experimental results present a comparison that evaluates the classification performance of the Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Extremely Randomized Trees classifiers. The measures used in the comparison take into account weighted accuracy, precision, and recall for binary and multi-class classification.
