The paper presents the idea of using and application of On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems in monitoring of electrical power engineering devices. Data saved in central repository for historical data are submitted through online working analytic systems. At the moment of addition of new data happens process of definition the mutual correlation between the new and already existing data. This leads to the analysis based on OLAP systems. The hereby paper describes the advantages of OLAP systems in aspect of using them in monitoring of electrical power engineering devices.

Steel making is known as a complex manufacturing industrial process. Automation of the process represents a challenge. Empirical mathematical modeling of the process was used to design mill equipment, ensure productivity and service quality. This modeling approach shows many problems associated to complexity and time consumption. Soft computing techniques show significant modeling capabilities on handling complex nonlinear systems modeling. In this paper, we explore the use of Takagi-Sugeno (TS) technique to develop fuzzy models for the Hot-Rolling industrial nonlinear process. We propose three models for the rolling force, torque and slab temperature. A set of rules and membership functions which represents the dynamical relationship between the input and output of these models shall be presented. The performance of the fuzzy models will be compared to the known empirical models for the hot rolling system. Experimental data measured from the Ere˜gli Iron and Steel Factory in Turkey shall be used for the verification of the model outstanding performance.

In the paper measurements of streaming electrification current in the range of low velocities are presented. The measurements were conducted in spinning disk system that uses wireless rotating electrometer. Using this system it is possible to measure electrification current in the range of several picoamperes. In proposed configuration the electrometer is installed in measurement object on the disk axle. The digital output is transferred using Bluetooth radio-frequency transceiver. This solution minimizes external disturbances and allows for measurement with standard uncertainty at the level of 30 fA depending on averaging time. The uncertainty slightly depends on spinning velocity. Several dependencies of averaged electrification current on rotational speed were shown. A fresh and C 60 fullerene doped transformer oil were used as an electrification source. It was observed that the electrification current can change its sign for different C 60 concentrations. Doping mineral oil leads to charge reversal in the electric double layer. The system presented in paper extends the range of possible research in the field of electrification on low velocities and can be useful in development of streaming electrification phenomena.

A new methodology for the design of control systems for real time applications is presented. It is proposed to have a first stage of assisted design of nominal systems with simulation based verification of the achieved performances. The control algorithm will then be improved by robustification to reproduce as good as possible the performances obtained in simulation on the real time process. Finally, a supervisor is implemented to optimize the thermo-energetic process and to compute the best choice for the reference signals.

An analysis of the effect of parasitics and reverse recovery on harmonic distortion in a class D audio amplifier is performed in this paper. The error sources under investigation are modelled empirically as an amplitude error, after which an existing strategy based on Newton's numerical method is implemented to simulate its effect within the audible band. The results are compared to existing timing errors to determine its degree of dominance.

In this paper, control of parallel single-phase inverters in direct-quadrature(DQ) rotating frame based on droop method is proposed. For each inverter, a secondary orthogonal imaginary circuit is created to provide the second phase required for the transformation; thus a DQ model of the inverter is obtained. The DQ transformation provides a time-invariant model of the inverter which makes the control design similar to that of dc-dc converters. The recognition of this analogy is important in that all of advanced dc-dc converters control techniques that have been previously developed can be applied to the control parallel inverters. The controller then is designed in DQ frame. Theoretically, infinite loop gain can be achieved in DQ rotating frame resulting in the elimination of the steady state error at the fundamental frequency of the inverter. The output impedance of the inverters is also considered, to ensure the decoupling between active and reactive power control using droop method. Simulation results are provided to prove the concept.

This paper considers the problem of stabilizing of unstable dead time processes using D-partition technique. This technique is suitable to find the maximum stability domain in the 3D domain of a PID controller parameters, k R, kI, kD. In this paper analytical expressions are derived in order to describe both stability domain boundaries but moreover to investigate the effect of time delay on the stabilizability of the process. Illustrative examples are detailed by simulation over Mathematica software.
