Electromagnetic compatibility tests of a measuring system based on MFC piezoelectric transducers

This paper discusses the issue of dependability of a measuring system from the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) point of view. During the tests, the equipment for conducting electromagnetic compatibility tests was used. The tests were carried out in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the harmonized standard IEC 61000-4-6. The measuring system equipped with non-classical piezoelectric transducers called MFC was considered. The MFC transducer was used as a sensor connected to the NI 9191 CompactDAQ Chassis. During the research, the influence of conducted disturbances on the transmission wire was examined. One of the elements of the test bench was an EM-clamp (providing both inductive and capacitive coupling) consisting of a tube of split ferrite rings of two different grades, which can be clamped over the cable under test in a non-invasive way.

This article presents the original results of statistical analysis of Polish language, based on orthographic and phonemic language corpus, preformed by the author. The phonemic language corpus for Polish was developed, by automatic grapheme-to-phoneme conversion of source orthographic language corpus. Phonemic language corpus contains the most frequently used Polish words written with the use of phonemic notation. Performed statistical analysis of Polish language based on phonemic language corpus, includes frequency of occurrence calculation of the orthographic and phonemic language components and their sequence. The statistical language data obtained as a result of performed statistical analysis enable to develop statistical word-based and subword-based language models for Polish language. The development of statistical methods of speech recognition may be very useful in research on improving automatic speech recognition in Polish, based on statistical language models.

The article presents rule-based automatic phonemic transcription method for Polish, implemented by the author in Python programming language. automatic phonemic transcription application required: phonemic transcription rules formulation and implementation, and automatic phonemic transcription algorithm implementation. As the implementation result, automatic phonemic transcription application was developed by the author, which enables to execute automatic phonemic transcription of any orthographic text files in Polish. The use of large language corpus files, as source orthographic text input files for automatic phonemic transcription enables to create large phonemic language corpora for further speech and language processing research. The developed phonemic language corpus for Polish, opens up further opportunities to continue research on improving automatic speech recognition. The large phonemic language corpus enables to perform statistical analysis of the language and to develop statistical phonemic language models for improving automatic speech recognition by statistical methods.

Working with big volume of data collected through many applications in multiple storage locations is both challenging and rewarding. Extracting valuable information from data means to combine qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. One of the main promises of analytics is data reduction with the primary function to support decision-making. The motivation of this chapter comes from the new age of applications (social media, smart cities, cyber-infrastructures, environment monitoring and control, healthcare, etc.), which produce big data and many new mechanisms for data creation rather than a new mechanism for data storage. The goal of this chapter is to analyze existing techniques for data reduction, at scale to facilitate Big Data processing optimization and understanding. The chapter will cover the following subjects: data manipulation, analytics and Big Data reduction techniques considering descriptive analytics, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics. The CyberWater case study will be presented by referring to: optimization process, monitoring, analysis and control of natural resources, especially water resources to preserve the water quality. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

The trend of SCADA (Supervisory control And Data Acquisition) is to centralize more regional sites into one Main control Center (MCC), in order to increase the efficiency. Due to the geographical distribution of the sites locations, the most common communication method with MCC is GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) network. Predicting network performance over a GSM network depends on the type of the transmitted data, the amount of data send, the transmission type (cyclic or event-based) as well as bandwidth and protocol characteristics. This paper presents a real-time comparison of the latency involved in the transmission of different loads of process data from a PLC (Programmable Logic controller) to the MCC, using the OPC (Open Platform Communications) protocol.

Aims. We present a campaign designed to train the GRANDMA network and its infrastructure to follow up on transient alerts and detect their early afterglows. In preparation for O4 II campaign, we focused on GRB alerts as they are expected to be an electromagnetic counterpart of gravitational-wave events. Our goal was to improve our response to the alerts and start prompt observations as soon as possible to better prepare the GRANDMA network for the fourth observational run of LIGO-Virgo-Kagra (which started at the end of May 2023), and future missions such as SM. Methods. To receive, manage and send out observational plans to our partner telescopes we set up dedicated infrastructure and a rota of follow-up adcates were organized to guarantee round-the-clock assistance to our telescope teams. To ensure a great number of observations, we focused on Swift GRBs whose localization errors were generally smaller than the GRANDMA telescopes' field of view. This allowed us to bypass the transient identification process and focus on the reaction time and efficiency of the network. Results. During'Ready for O4 II', 11 Swift/INTEGRAL GRB triggers were selected, nine fields had been observed, and three afterglows were detected (GRB 220403B, GRB 220427A, GRB 220514A), with 17 GRANDMA telescopes and 17 amateur astronomers from the citizen science project Kilonova-Catcher. Here we highlight the GRB 220427A analysis where our long-term follow-up of the host galaxy allowed us to obtain a photometric redshift of z = 0.82 ± 0.09, its lightcurve elution, fit the decay slope of the afterglows, and study the properties of the host galaxy. Conclusions. During this 8-week-long GRB follow-up campaign, we successfully fulfilled our goal of training telescope teams for O4 and the improvement of the associated technical toolkits. The exponential nature of the technological progress, along with the need for smaller and mobile computers led to the emergence of embedded devices like Raspberry Pi or Beaglebone Black. The main difficulty in using these embedded devices is that the device must be physically connected to a regular computer in order to be programmed to do useful work. This thesis presents a platform named Wyliodrin that solves this problem by allowing the programming of embedded devices directly from the Cloud.

The Internet of Things is a thriving field in which multiple open source tools are used. On the other hand, Windows 10 Iot Core, a closed source operating system designed with Internet of Things in mind, shows great potential. This paper presents the main platforms required for expanding open source development tools for this operating system, as well as the process of expanding an open source IDE to a Qualcomm board running Windows 10 IoT Core.
