This paper presents the method for the compensation of the temperature fluctuations in the measurement system based on the Silicon Photomultipliers. The system was created by the authors of the paper. Temperature has very strong influence on the gain of the detectors. Because single photons are detected and the system is very sensitive, its parameters has to be steady during the measurements. Temperature is being stabilized by changeable bias voltage of the detector. This paper describes how the algorithm of compensation has been determined during series of measurements and calculations.

In this paper we present a method of transmitting routing updates in IPv6 networks. Routing protocols that use discrete packets to send/receive routing updates are susceptible to instability in a limited bandwidth or lossy links environment. We study and compare our method with OSPF and EIGRP and show that it stabilizes more rapidly. By design, our method is robust and it is not susceptible to bandwidth limitation and to the degree of lost packets like other routing protocols.

With the increasing availability of high performance computing power, new possibilities with respect to simulation and analysis become available and feasible. One of such methodologies is data farming, where large amounts of data are generated through simulation of several configurations from large parameter space and then analyzed for patterns. Unfortunately, the availability of versatile data farming systems is very limited and none of existing solutions allows integration with novel Cloud solutions. In this paper, we present our system, which is a flexible solution for running very large Data Farming experiments on both intranet clusters as well as on remote computational resources, including public Clouds. Another important aspect of the presented system is the support of interactive Data Farming experiments with online analysis of partial experiment results and experiment extending capability. Sample application of our system is present on military mission planning support scenario.

The aim of this work is to design and test an array of metal oxide gas sensors for reliable and reproducible gas detection. Thermally modulated responses of non-specific, resistive-type metal oxide sensors to various hydrogen concentrations and humidity levels are studied. Temperature of each sensor is controlled and sinusoidal temperature profile is imposed over the temperature range of 200 – 500 °C. The dynamic responses upon hydrogen exposure (0 – 3000 ppm) are recorded and studied. The time of one temperature modulation cycle varies from 5 – 10 minutes.

TiO 2 /SnO 2 composites prepared by mechanical mixing of TiO 2 and SnO 2 nanopowders over a full compositional range from 100 mol% TiO 2 to 100 mol% SnO 2 are characterized by BET adsorption, isotherms method, X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy, SEM, Transmission Electron Microscopy, TEM, spectrophotometry and impedance spectroscopy, IS. Gas sensors made of these nanopowders show high and reproducible responses in reaction with hydrogen at a relatively low temperature, not exceeding 400 °C. Remarkable increase in the sensor sensitivity accompanies mixing of SnO 2 nanopowder with a small amount (2 mol%) of TiO 2 . This effect can be accounted for by an enhanced oxygen preadsorption on SnO 2 grains due to the electron transfer from TiO 2 to SnO 2 .
