The paper presents the features of passive filters and some of the topologies used for the improving of power quality. One has in view aspects on the designing of passive filters tuned for some harmonic components. One presents some recordings and numerical simulations made over the electric signals from a substation used for the supplying of a d.c. line of 600 V. Based on the obtained results one proposes solutions for passive compensations with the consideration of a number of filtering components that depends on the compensation necessities. In order to verify the compensation efficiency, through SPICE simulation, one estimates the effects of compensation correlated with the number of passive filtering cells.

Software testing is one of the most important techniques used to assure the quality of Web Services at present. Test-data generation is an important topic in Web Services testing. The quality of test data will influence the efficiency and cost when testing Web Services. Based on the contract-based mutation testing technique, this paper presents a method of automated test-data generation for Web Services. First, according to the description information and contracts in WSDL documents of Web Services, initial test data are generated automatically by the random method. Then the test data are selected using contract mutation testing. This method can generate a test suite meeting a certain contract mutation score, which indicates the quality and efficiency of testing. Finally, we have developed a prototype on the *** platform, and carried out some experiments. The results have shown that the proposed method is effective in automated test-data generation for Web Services.

The purpose of our research is to find algorithms for loading large maps on PDA and place on it the geographical location given by latitude and longitude. C++ and C# programming languages have been used for implementation. It was elaborated a software which runs on PDA with Windows Mobile 2003 OS and implements algorithms for finding the coordinate on a map represented like a TIF image. The application must localize the coordinates known by longitude and latitude over a given image in TIF format which can represent a map with scale 1:200000 or 1:25000. The map headers contain information that refers to map limit. An algorithm that permits map synchronization when the value of current map is out of limit it was necessary.

The scope of our research is finding a correlation between the correctness indicator and the reliability indicator for software programs. For this, the correctness and reliability indicators will be calculated for a simple program, written in C programming language. The computations will be made for each program version obtained by correcting different error type found in the testing process. In this paper, an evaluation of the network routing algorithms is made. Problems that arise in routing are treated, each presented in different scenarios in order to obtain a result in comparing different topologies. The comparison analysis is pursuing obtaining a result over the performance of the, network. In order to measure performance, the costs of a network and the delays are aimed. After that, the topology effect is presented. In matter of performance, topology and blocking problems are strongly related. So an analysis of the blocking probability is also presented. As conclusions, solutions for the presented scenarios and also for other important scenarios are given. In all these algorithms the time problem was not yet consider until now, so the average execution time is finally analyzed.

We present a comparative analysis for several multi-agents participating in Trading Agents Competition, Classic. The game is first partitioned into separate modules, for which distinct strategies may be developed. The strategies used are taken into consideration both individually and in relation with other agents, but also the game medium. Conclusions regarding possible improvements, better strategies and potential weaknesses are driven from each agent analysis. Alternatives like static market algorithms vs. dynamic market algorithms are considered in detail and advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Also a discussion of TAC market and possibilities for the stochastic system approximation with a deterministic one is realized.

In this paper a method to estimate the initial rotor position of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) at the stand still condition is proposed. The proposed method can be implemented by the simple microcontroller based system, and it is not necessary to know the magnetization curves. The impulse gate drive signal is applied and the winding current is detected and its approximate value is used for calculating the rotor position. The compensation method to reduce the estimation error thorough one cycle is also mentioned. The proposed method is implemented with the 6-stator-pole and 4-rotor-pole, 1.5 kW 3-phase switched reluctance motor.

Robots are complex systems that require multidisciplinary approach to development. Hence, both research and production of a robotic system require a tool that would provide means for coordination between teams with different areas of expertise as well as the ability to integrate, simulate and debug the system in a comprehensive way. Also, with the growing popularity of service robotics, research and modeling of human-machine interaction gains the attention. From a simulation tool, it is expected to support the means for describing this interaction. For that purpose we are investigating the ML Designer TM , not just as a possible simulation tool, but also as a modeling and design paradigm. For verification purposes we will compare it against MATLAB Simulink TM . A pneumatic system will be modeled with both tools and a comparison will be performed.
