One of the most important factors in ensuring successful and safe driving in the road traffic network is the driver's sense of sight. The driver can determine the environmental factors in the traffic with his gaze and can predict the next move after evaluating it with the current driving position. In this process, the focus of the driver's gaze should be on the area to which the vehicle is heading. Driver eye movements and gaze analysis is a topic that has been intensively studied in recent years in 'Intelligent Driver Assistance Systems'. In this study, a data set was prepared with a group of 40 participants between the ages of 18-28 in order to determine which points the driver looked at while driving. The dataset was created by having each participant look at the labeled areas on the vehicle in turn for one minute. Experimental studies lasted approximately 11 days. Approximately 350 hours of work was carried out to prepare the obtained data set. © 2022 IEEE.

Today, CAN Bus protocol is widely used in various technological fields such as industrial, medical or automotive. Data is provided from ECUs and diagnostic codes through the OBD-II system, which is a standard in vehicles. The aim of this study is to develop an experimental setup to analyze driver driving skills based on vehicle data obtained over CAN Bus protocol with an open-source software. In this study, an experimental setup with a PiCAN 2 module and an LCD touch screen compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ has been developed. Thanks to the developed experimental setup, it is connected to the vehicle ECU via an OBD-II connector to obtain real-time ECU data of the vehicle. This article presents validation tests to determine the design and construction phases of the system and its functionality as a data logger. Python programming language CAN software library was used on the experimental setup. © 2022 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a significant milestone in the modern history of civilization with a catastrophic effect on global wellbeing and *** situation is very complex as the COVID-19 test kits are limited,therefore,more diagnostic methods must be developed urgently.A significant initial step towards the successful diagnosis of the COVID-19 is the chest X-ray or Computed Tomography(CT),where any chest anomalies(e.g.,lung inflammation)can be easily *** hospitals possess X-ray or CT imaging equipments that can be used for early detection of *** by this,various artificial intelligence(AI)techniques have been developed to identify COVID-19 positive patients using the chest X-ray or CT ***,the advance of these AI-based systems and their highly tailored results are strongly bonded to high-end GPUs,which is not widely available in several *** paper introduces a technique for early COVID-19 diagnosis based on medical experience and light-weight Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs),which does not require a custom hardware to run compared to currently available CNN *** proposed deep learning model is built carefully and fine-tuned by removing all unnecessary parameters and layers to achieve the light-weight attribute that could run smoothly on a normal CPU(0.54%of AlexNet parameters).This model is highly beneficial for countries where high-end GPUs are *** outcomes on some new benchmark datasets shows the robustness of the proposed technique robustness in recognizing COVID-19 with 96%accuracy.

This paper investigates the results of simulations devoted to the acoustic field variation caused by different boundary conditions applied to the backscattering of the acoustic wave in both low and moderately low frequency ranges. The goal is to analyse the object behaviour and the detection ability of the 2D acoustic field approximations when the simulation data of the scattered sound field is available. The plane waves are backscattered by a dummy human body, positioned in a cabin which has a defined size. The dummy human body is created by using clusters of finite and disjointed but tangent circular cylinders. Each cylinder is a scatterer that emulates various boundary conditions i.e., the scatterers can be sound-soft (Dirichlet boundary condition) and sound-hard scatterers (Neumann boundary condition). The cylinders are filled with biological tissue (i.e., fat). The exterior scattering problem is solved using the preconditioned Krylov subspace iterative solvers (GMRES), as a computationally cheaper alternative. We use the hypothesis that the mass density of the obstacle and wave speed in the obstacle are both constant. During the simulation experiments, we neglected the interactions among scatterers. A frequency range from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz is analysed. Both the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) are used to analyse the numerical simulation of the sound field. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

This paper presents an insight into the smart metering field. The paper address specifics of different network hierarchy structures (wide area networks, neighborhood area networks, and home area networks) and topologies used for this purpose (mesh, point-to-point, virtual point-to-point, or broadcast networks). Next, we focus on listing and describing some of the most commonly used communication technologies (both wired and wireless, such as power line communication, public switched telephone network, digital subscriber line, radiofrequency, in-home radio frequency, wireless local area network, or mobile network communications), their characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages utilized for remote and smart metering.

This paper aims to achieve an optimization of the variables that represent the violation time of limit concentration for the main effluent quality parameters in a simulated wastewater treatment plant WWTP. The main effluent quality parameters considered are Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand, Total nitrate (Ntot), ammonium nitrogen (SNH), and Total Suspended Solids (TSS). A custom control strategy was also considered to obtain a better performance of the simulated WWTP. In order to generate the database, several Monte Carlo simulations were performed. In this way, the global minimum points were determined, and a method for aligning the obtained global minimum points was proposed. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents an electronically controlled biquadratic filter designed for precise frequency selection in applications such as audio processing, telecommunications, and cochlear implants. The design utilizes AD830, AD844, and LM13700 integrated circuits, facilitating high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass responses with improved stability and real-time tunability. PSPICE simulations validate the filter's adaptability and performance, demonstrating its effectiveness in dynamic environments and its suitability for high-frequency applications requiring flexible frequency control. The results indicate a calculated pole frequency of 2.23 MHz, while simulations yield a slightly lower value of 2.0 MHz, affirming the design's practical viability and alignment with theoretical expectations.

Artificial intelligence(AI) systems surpass certain human intelligence abilities in a statistical sense as a whole, but are not yet the true realization of these human intelligence abilities and behaviors. There are differences, and even contradictions, between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. With the goal of achieving general AI, this study contains a review of the role of cognitive science in inspiring the development of the three mainstream academic branches of AI based on the three-layer framework proposed by David Marr, and the limitations of the current development of AI are explored and analyzed. The differences and inconsistencies between the cognition mechanisms of the human brain and the computation mechanisms of AI systems are analyzed. They are found to be the cause of the differences and contradictions between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. Additionally, eight important research directions and their scientific issues that need to focus on braininspired AI research are proposed: highly imitated bionic information processing, a large-scale deep learning model that balances structure and function, multi-granularity joint problem solving bidirectionally driven by data and knowledge, AI models that simulate specific brain structures, a collaborative processing mechanism with the physical separation of perceptual processing and interpretive analysis, embodied intelligence that integrates the brain cognitive mechanism and AI computation mechanisms,intelligence simulation from individual intelligence to group intelligence(social intelligence), and AI-assisted brain cognitive intelligence.

MapReduce is a widely used programming model for processing big data. Bloom filters are spatially efficient probabilistic data structures for fast queries that tell whether an element is a member of a set and allow false positive results. With reference to this, this article discusses the main characteristics, realisation techniques and scenarios for using Bloom filters when big data is analysed and processed. In addition to this, the study presents an implementation of a Bloom filter in a distributed MapReduce framework. © 2021 IEEE.
