In this paper a decentralized approach to state estimation of distributed dynamical systems over unreliable communication network subject to uncertain and limited measurements is addressed. Specifically, a distributed filtering concept for enhancing the estimation accuracy of vehicles state from uncertain position data in ad-hoc vehicle networks is presented. The filter relies on a variety of position measurements obtained from the on-board vehicle positioning system, from other nearby cooperating vehicles, as well as from the immediate roadside environment via communication. Direct distance measurements between vehicles as well as between vehicles and the static elements of the roadside infrastructure can be used, if available, as highly accurate reference measurements. The paper demonstrates how successfully the idea of cooperative filtering in addressing the demands of both sensor fault tolerance and enhanced estimation accuracy in distributed systems over ad-hoc communication networks can be used.

Need of blood pressure measurement is usable in wide spectrum of applications from physicians offices to home care applications. Many types of blood pressure measurement devices can be bought in electronics shops. All such devices are measurement devices which need to be in contact with human body (hand or foot mainly). Further they allow only one measurement per several minutes interval (typically 10 minutes). Our goal is to develop a small device for noninvasive continuous measurement of blood pressure. This device must be a small battery powered embedded system which measures a blood pressure during a long time period and sends this information to remote operator's stations. In this station the analysis of receiving video data is made for several types of usage. In current state we develop a small device to scan a video or a set of images with the NIR (Near Infra Red) CCD camera. The video data are transferred by wireless connection to the computer where they are analyzed. The first results provide an indication to be a right way to obtain exact continuous blood pressure information. In the future there exists a way to integrate this blood pressure measurement system to concurrently developed biotelemetric system architecture for patients and physicians called Guardian. For position monitoring in outdoor areas there is developed GPS module which informs about patient location and brings very precise time basis for other measuring modules of Guardian system and time synchronization.

This paper investigates signal and system representations in special rational orthogonal bases of the Hardy space H 2 . These bases are derived from the Blaschke-group associated to the hyperbolic group SH(n) of matrices. Using the concept of the unitary group representations over H 2 , and the voice-transform, specific hyperbolic wavelet constructions - Blaschke-wavelets and the associated Blaschke-Fourier transform are constructed. State space representations of systems over hyperbolic groups are discussed, too, with the purpose to explore the perspectives of elaborating a unified system theory upon this conceptual base.

This paper presents ontlology-based architecture for pattern recognition in the context of static source code analysis. The proposed system has three subsystems: parser, OWL ontologies and analyser. The parser subsystem translates the input coded to AST that is constructed as an XML tree. The OWL ontologies define code patterns and general programming concepts. The analyser subsystem constructs instances of the input code as ontology individuals and asks the reasoner to classify them. The experience gained in the implementation of the proposed system and some practical issues are discussed. The recognition system successfully integrates the knowledge representation field and static code analysis. resulting in greater flexibility of the recognition system.

Brain emotional learning based intelligent controller (BELBIC) is based on computational model of limbic system in the mammalian brain. In recent years, this model was applied in many linear and nonlinear control applications. Previous studies show that this controller has fast response, simple implementation and robustness with respect to disturbances. It is also possible to define emotional signal based on control application objectives. But in the previous studies, internal instability of this controller was not considered and control task were done in limited time period. In this article mathematical description of BELBIC is investigated and improved to avoid internal instability. Simulation and implementation of improved model was done on level plant. The obtained results showed that instability of model has been solved in the new model without loss of performance by using Integral Anti Windup (IAW).
