This work is devoted to a detailed description of the quality flags of the Sampled Values protocol of the IEC 61850 standard for digital current and voltage transformers. The relevance of this article is due to the fact that the quality flags are not strictly and in detail described in the standard itself, therefore, manufacturers of equipment for digital current and voltage transformers fill in the quality flags if there are problems with data or device at their own discretion. The first part provides information on the structure of interaction between elements of a digital measuring system, describes the advantages of using quality flags in digital data transmission protocols relative to traditional transformers. In the second part, special attention is paid to the interpretation of quality flags in the IEC 61850 standard and the lack of a clear formulation of their applicability in real devices. The third part offers new interpretation of these quality flags with an example of use based on the developed measuring system. At the end of the article, evidence of the correct operation of the described quality flags is provided using a test bench and equipment for analyzing the Sampled Values protocol. © 2024 IEEE.

The paper proposes a new fast method for increasing the dynamic range of brightness of images projected onto an object and registered by an optoelectronic system. The influence of photon noise on the accuracy of brightness values determination is analyzed. An algorithm realizing the increase of the dynamic range of brightness of images registered by the optoelectronic system is proposed. For this purpose, a three-color RGB image is projected onto an object. Each channel contains encoded information about the brightness field in one of the selected modules of the residual class system. An experimental validation of the proposed algorithm is carried out. The dynamic range extension up to 20 binary digits of digital image digitization is achieved. The speed of data processing was increased several times due to combining several test images into one and using a cascade scheme of their processing. © 2023 IEEE.

Medicine remains one of the data-scarce domains, with typical datasets size not exceeding hundreds of thousands items. Correspondingly, straightforward application of end-to-end Deep Learning (ML) methods for Medical Imaging is often problematic. Carefully constructed pipelines that involve filter-based enhancement of raw images allow better outcome and leave more room for feasible data augmentation. In our paper, we explore and develop computer Vision approaches for vertebrae recognition on a limited dataset of X-ray images of human spine. In particular, we test several pre-processing filters, of which Adaptive Histogram Equalization demonstrates the highest accuracy of 85.8% in a naïve model using the popular U-Net architecture. Further, we put forward the mechanism for the automated spine area cropping based on brightness cut-off. This additional step in the pipeline allowed improving the accuracy to 89.9%, which is comparable with the accuracy obtained for MRI images of higher quality. We plan to further increase the prediction quality of the model via spine segmentation into about 20 individual vertebrae and 8-fold data augmentation. The ultimate goal is improving the identification of the vertebrae corners, which currently has the relative error of 4.36%. Our intermediate results reported in the current paper might be of interest to ML engineers who pick the steps for X-ray spine images processing pipelines. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents the results of the development and study of the application of a computational heuristic algorithm for industrial tomography based on the use of a reference sample of an industrial product. Thus, based on a priori information about the reference sample of the product, it is possible to build a local tomographic reconstruction from limited initial data due to the selective sensitivity of the object under study to probing radiation. This approach is consistent with the principle of "strong methods", which has recently proven itself well in the field of artificial intelligence. The results obtained form the basis for the development of an appropriate information and computing technology, including algorithmic and software for computer processing and interpretation of measurement data. The paper also presents the designed architecture and software prototype with a graphical interface that implements local tomographic reconstruction based on the proposed algorithms. The presented experimental results testify to the efficiency and speed of the proposed algorithm in comparison with the classical algorithm of computed tomography. The proposed algorithm also makes it possible to detect defects of small thickness, when the classical tomography algorithm cannot cope. From an applied point of view, this study is of interest in the heuristic search for a defect in a product model and allows us to conclude that it is promising in the field of industrial flaw detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Blasting operations carried out at mining enterprises and in construction have a negative seismic impact on the production environment of enterprises and other protected objects. As the pit depth increases, the slope angle of the ledges and sides increases, which increases the likelihood of collapses as a result of seismic impacts of blasting *** information system SIBGEO-AM - seismic monitoring of industrial explosions at mining enterprises, created by SIGI LLC, is described. The seismic monitoring system includes a network of seismic stations installed along the perimeter of the quarry excavation, and a computer program designed to automate the process of collecting, data processing, analyzing, presenting, viewing and storing seismic monitoring results. Examples of records of typical seismic impacts of industrial explosions are given. Algorithms of filtration, selection of events, calculation of seismic impact force in the epicenter of the explosion on the side of the quarry are shown. © 2024 IEEE.

The demand for auxiliary systems that utilize methods and technologies of intellectual data analysis and machine learning is increasing in the CRM system development field. These systems are capable of generating valuable insights from vast amounts of data collected in CRM. The article shows the results of the development and study of the CRM system using the methods of affinity analysis. Earlier, the authors developed and implemented the base version of the recommender algorithm based on the use of cluster data analysis and collaborative filtration [1, 2]. The new version of the algorithm additionally uses affinity analysis methods to form recommendations for the selection of products, which made it possible to increase the accuracy of the recommendation system (service) by metrics F2 on average from 67.98% to 81.24% with an increase in the time for issuing recommendations (On average by 2.47 ms). The study and comparison of the basic and modified versions of the algorithm were executed using data sourced from insurance companies, furnished by "FB Consult". © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, information can be found on how was designed, developed and implemented a system for the centralized collection and storage of data on the consumption of household resources, such as electricity, water and gas. Two independent services, Smappee and Glowmarkt, which produce sensors to collect data on household resource consumption, were successfully integrated into the developed system. The developed system will make it possible to control the consumption of energy resources in the household, as well as to forecast their consumption for several days in advance. The user will be given access to various graphs and charts that will clearly show his current power consumption compared to past time periods. The system also offers a solution to optimize the consumption of household resources. As a result of the work, a client-server application was developed and implemented in a working environment. Two additional applications were developed for data collection and also put into operation. At the moment, the system successfully operates in several cities in England. © 2023 IEEE.

The authors develop original seismic locating technology in a number of their papers. The present paper shows that application of super-resolving radio-locating methods ideas in the proposed technology allows solving actual problems of seismic images construction in a new way. In particular, it is possible to solve the problem of high resolution and accuracy approximation for the phase hodographs series of the waves reflected from seismic section boundaries. The developed super-resolving seismic locating algorithm ensures fulfillment of the requirements in every narrow space-time band, revealed by the considered technology on the seismogram as the hodograph location. The series of the reflected waves phase hodographs, built using the areas of the seismogram, characterizes the family of the investigated medium layers for the fixed location of a seismic vibrations source. Application of the proposed algorithm ensures, with a prescribed accuracy, building sets of the reflected waves phase hodographs, separating close or interfering wavefronts. The locating relief obtained by application of the algorithm allows finding and tracing even not observed visually systematic vibrations on the seismogram. Thus, the approximation accuracy and resolution degree of the various waves phase hodographs series can be increased. It is shown that the result can be achieved using a concrete seismogram or the improved seismogram obtained fromthe set of seismograms of observation profile. © 2023 IEEE.

The problem of a control system design is discussed to provide an angular position platform stabilization. The platform is used to install various navigation equipment and communication devices. Stabilization of the platform's angular position eliminates the influence of vibrations of the platform's moving base on the operation of this equipment. The platform is equipped with an electrohydraulic drive, which ensures the horizontal position of the platform under conditions of vibrations of the vessel deck. The control system is designed in such a way that fast and slow processes are created in a closedloop system. The discussed approach to control system design allows to provide stability and robustness for position of the platform under vibrations of the vessel deck. The effect of the small parameters of the electrohydraulic drive on control system stability is treated. The selection of the controller parameters is carried out by additionally taking into account the sensitivity function, which reflects the influence of wave disturbances on the angular position of the platform. © 2024 IEEE.

In modern complex manufacturing always rely on skilled workers. But training new specialists in complex tasks is an actual problem. In virtual simulation training can be done multiple times and without life risk. Nevertheless, training on the computer is not the same as in the physical world. Blend both ways of training can Mixed Reality. In this paper one of the variants of developing application-instruction for industrial unit maintenance in the form of Mixed Reality application is shown in detail. Used instruments and platforms, where key components were created, are presented. Software structure of the application is described as well as implementation of The state Machine design pattern. This pattern was adapted for application needs, code snippets are shown. The application software was written in the C sharp programming language. The instruction is an immersive training for future specialists. Operator is following the steps of the instructions using the user interface - main virtual panel. Virtual panel design prototype, its features and realization in application are demonstrated. To create an interface related design task was solved including functional components. The connection between essential components is described. Operator's work in application is also demonstrated. © 2023 IEEE.
