The collaborative decision-making technology of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) is critical in today’s autonomous driving. Recently, graph reinforcement learning (GRL)-based methods have demonstrated exemplary performance in solving decision-making problems by implementing graphic technologies. However, current GRL-based research faces the challenge of modeling the interaction completely and extracting driving features efficiently. To address these issues, this paper proposes a social interaction force (SIF) spatial-temporal graph dynamic attention network (SIF-STGDAN) to solve the decision-making of CAVs. First, a SIF model is established to better represent the mutual effect between vehicles; an on-ramp merging scenario is then constructed and modeled by graph representation. Then, the SIF-STGDAN is proposed by combining the temporal convolutional network (TCN) and graph dynamic attention network to extract the graphic features of the on-ramp scenario efficiently, and the double deep q-learning (DDQN) algorithm is utilized to generate the optimized driving strategies for CAVs. Finally, experiments are conducted, and results show that our proposed SIF-STGDAN outperforms the baselines in terms of safety, efficiency, and model stability.

Navigation is an essential task for social robots. However, certain rules must be followed to allow them to move without causing distraction or discomfort to people. Considering that the context surrounding robots and persons affects the expected behavior, this work defines a social area around a person that adapts to the real situation. In addition, the social context of a person is extended to identify groups of people, which the robot should take into account while navigating. With this understanding of the surrounding of the robot together with the ability to predict the trajectory of individuals as well as groups, the proposed solution not only effectively addresses collision avoidance while promoting socially acceptable behavior but also outperforms the majority of recent works in terms of accuracy. Furthermore, a dedicated policy is introduced to react to social navigation conflicts. The evaluation performed in a simulated environment shows that the computation of our proposed solution is at least 8 times faster than the best state-of-the-art approach while preserving comparable social conduct. Also, the results of realistic experiments performed using Gazebo and a real robot are reported.

The design of an electric arc plasma unit with a cylindrical hollow working chamber and controlled electric arc producing low-Temperature plasma, which can be used for surface treatment of metal products, is considered. The design of a regulated power supply of the electric arc part of the installation with a capacitor matching circuit and a pulse control unit of the electric arc current is proposed. The arc current continuity is ensured when regulating the power released in the electric arc. The amount of plasma produced is regulated by simultaneously changing the current in the arc and the flow of plasma-forming gas supplied to the arc burning area. The arc position is stabilized by creating an external electromagnetic field. An experimental electric arc plasma unit with a cylindrical working chamber and consumable graphite electrodes was created. The correlation between the power of the main elements of the unit is determined experimentally. The results of the study of processes occurring during electromagnetic arc drawing and plasma production are presented. © 2021 IEEE.

In recent years,there are numerous studies on chaotic systems with special equilibrium curves having various shapes such as circle,butterfly,heart and *** paper describes a new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed chaotic system has two quadratic,two cubic and two quartic nonlinear *** is noted that the proposed chaotic system has a hidden attractor since it has an infinite number of equilibrium *** is also established that the proposed chaotic system exhibits multi-stability with two coexisting chaotic attractors for the same parameter values but differential initial states.A detailed bifurcation analysis with respect to variations in the system parameters is portrayed for the new chaotic system with capsule equilibrium *** have shown MATLAB plots to illustrate the capsule equilibrium curve,phase orbits of the new chaotic system,bifurcation diagrams and *** an engineering application,we have proposed a speech cryptosystem with a numerical algorithm,which is based on our novel 3-D chaotic system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed speech cryptosystem follows its security evolution and implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)*** results show that the proposed encryption system utilizes 33%of the FPGA,while the maximum clock frequency is 178.28 MHz.

Computing the maximal (robust) positive invari-ant (M(R)PI) set for linear dynamics and a polyhedral constraint set is well-known in the literature but, the effects and limitations of the different methods employed are not sufficiently clear, especially for high dimensional systems. In this paper we propose a systematic analysis of the existing techniques as well as the application of new ideas to accelerate the computation of the MPI set. This includes new stop conditions for the set recurrence that spans it. We analyze and compare these variations over a dynamical system whose dimension can be arbitrarily increased to draw conclusions about their relative strengths and weaknesses.

Temporal-Aware Spiking Transformer Hashing Based on 3D-DWT

With the rapid growth of dynamic vision sensor (DVS) data, constructing a low-energy, efficient data retrieval system has become an urgent task. Hash learning is one of the most important retrieval technologies which can keep the distance between hash codes consistent with the distance between DVS data. As spiking neural networks (SNNs) can encode information through spikes, they demonstrate great potential in promoting energy efficiency. Based on the binary characteristics of SNNs, we first propose a novel supervised hashing method named Spikinghash with a hierarchical lightweight structure. Spiking WaveMixer (SWM) is deployed in shallow layers, utilizing a multilevel 3D discrete wavelet transform (3D-DWT) to decouple spatiotemporal features into various low-frequency and high-frequency components, and then employing efficient spectral feature fusion. SWM can effectively capture the temporal dependencies and local spatial features. Spiking Self-Attention (SSA) is deployed in deeper layers to further extract global spatiotemporal information. We also design a hash layer utilizing binary characteristic of SNNs, which integrates information over multiple time steps to generate final hash codes. Furthermore, we propose a new dynamic soft similarity loss for SNNs, which utilizes membrane potentials to construct a learnable similarity matrix as soft labels to fully capture the similarity differences between classes and compensate information loss in SNNs, thereby improving retrieval performance. Experiments on multiple datasets demonstrate that Spikinghash can achieve state-of-the-art results with low energy consumption and fewer parameters. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Due to the common limitation of the human visual system, internal features of thermal images cannot be fully discovered. To overcome these drawbacks, a lot of studies analyzed the facial expressions corroborating the features extracted from thermal images with machine learning tools. This paper proposed the first-order features extracted from the image histogram and a binary classification performed by the k-nearest neighbor algorithm (K-NN). The proposed method tests separately the performance of different input data, firstly, the features were extracted from raw images and the robustness of the K-NN algorithm led to an accuracy of 92.6%. Secondly, the features were extracted sequentially from corrupted images with noise. The novelty of the proposed method consists of verifying the quality classification when the images have bad quality, in this case, the accuracy decreased to 70.7%, as a result, the classification of facial expressions is sensitive to the quality of images.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a condition caused by diabetes that affects the blood vessels in the retina. Detecting the disease early and providing appropriate treatment are crucial in slowing its progression. Therefore, there is great potential in utilizing Machine Learning (ML) to improve the identification and monitoring of DR development in patients. Our study aims to explore the performance of six ML algorithms, namely Random Forest (RF), Adaptive Boosting (AB), K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN), Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis (QDA), in two binary classifications involving three classes: non-diabetic retinopathy (NoDR), moderate retinopathy (MR), and severe retinopathy (SV). These ML algorithms were applied to ten features extracted using local binary patterns (LBP). The first classification task involved distinguishing between NoDR and MR, while the second task involved differentiating between NoDR and SV. The RF technique achieved the highest classification accuracy, with 0.912 for the first task and 0.94 for the second task.

This paper presents a case study related to emotion recognition based on human thermal image processing. Three states are considered for human faces: normal, sad, and happy. The thermal images are pre-processed for important feature selection and extraction by using the random forest (RF) classifier. All and selected features set is used as input to a feedforward backpropagation neural network (FFBPN), with binary outputs. The input images are organized in pairs, i.e., normal with sad and normal with happy. The preliminary results show particularly good classification accuracy.
