The primary objective of this paper is to develop a method for accurately and consistently rating football players. A secondary objective is to evaluate the suitability of artificial neural networks for this purpose, particularly with the available data. To address these objectives, data was collected from various sources, including APIs and the WhoScored website via web scraping. Multiple solutions were explored for implementing the player rating system, encompassing both AI-based and mathe-matical approaches. In the pursuit of AI-based models, ratings provided by WhoScored were utilized as a target due to their recognized precision and consistency. Following the implemen-tation of various models, comprehensive testing and evaluation using diverse metrics and methods were conducted to identify the most effective approach, or determine if certain models are better suited for specific scenarios. Overall, this research contributes to the integration of data from multiple sources to enhance player rating methodologies in football analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

At the moment, power supply systems without centralized power supply, using autonomous sources, are becoming increasingly popular. In this paper, the issue of the effectiveness of the introduction of a DC-based power supply system generated by alternative energy sources in the framework of domestic use is analyzed. The article presents various models of hybrid microgrids operating on direct and alternating current. The moment is considered with a decrease in the number of power conversion stages in the issue of switching to direct current with the possibility of reducing the price of power supplies used in electrical equipment, the main advantages of direct current are described. Using the example of a residential building, the question of the optimal voltage level, the number of photovoltaic plants used, and the type of consumers is analyzed. Possible converters and necessary batteries are considered, the difference between losses and voltage drop is calculated by calculation, and the fact of increasing the line capacity when switching to DC power is justified. © 2024 IEEE.

The measuring test lead is an important part of high voltage bushings with capacitor-type insulation. The test lead is connected to the outer capacitor lining of the frame, dividing the input capacitance into two: C1 (pipe - last outer lining of the frame) and C3 (last outer lining of the frame - flange). For diagnostics of the in service condition of the input, it is sufficient to measure the insulation resistance R3, the capacitance C1 and the dissipation factor tgδl. The measured and corrected value tgδ1 is compared with the data of the acceptance test report. In the delivery condition, the obtained value tgδl should be close to the nameplate value. A significant difference of more than 3% between the capacitance value C1 and the value specified in the acceptance test report may indicate damage during transportation or installation, so that the input must not be put into operation. The value of the capacitance C3 depends on how the input is integrated. The article deals with the method of measuring the insulation parameter C3 at the installed, faulted line bushings. The confirmation of the normal contact of the outer lining of the hulls of the already installed line bushings is obtained. The conclusion contains conclusions on the results of measurements and recommendations to the equipment manufacturers to make changes in the operating manuals of the bushings. © 2024 IEEE.

VSSB-Raft: A Secure and Efficient Zero Trust Consensus Algorithm for Blockchain

To solve the problems of vote forgery and malicious election of candidate nodes in the Raft consensus algorithm, we combine zero trust with the Raft consensus algorithm and propose a secure and efficient consensus algorithm -Verifiable Secret Sharing Byzantine Fault Tolerance Raft Consensus Algorithm (VSSB-Raft). The VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm realizes zero trust through the supervisor node and secret sharing algorithm without the invisible trust between nodes required by the algorithm. Meanwhile, the VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm uses the SM2 signature algorithm to realize the characteristics of zero trust requiring authentication before data use. In addition, by introducing the NDN network, we redesign the communication between nodes and guarantee the communication quality among nodes. The VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm proposed in this paper can make the algorithm Byzantine fault tolerant by setting a threshold for secret sharing while maintaining the algorithm's complexity to be O(n). Experiments show that the VSSB-Raft consensus algorithm is secure and efficient with high throughput and low consensus latency. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Industrial furnaces are often used in siderurgy and metallurgy applications. Most of them are based on burning different fuels or use electrical resistors to bring the temperature to the desired working conditions. This paper aims to show a possible approach of an adaptive controller implementation using neural networks to reduce the gas consumption of industrial furnaces. The neural networks generate the appropriate coefficients, both for the transfer function and the controller, with respect to the variation of the gas flow. © 2024 IEEE.

The paper proposes a solution for modelling and controlling the operation of a DC/DC boost converter. The converter model is based on a neural network structure. The feedforward fully connected neural networks generate the appropriate model coefficients for the variable duty cycle. An optimal control approach is used for controlling the operation of the converter, and also reject external disturbances and return the system back to the steady-state regime. This approach will also be compared to the work of other authors which chose a Ziegler-Nichols controller. In the end, the paper will show that the chosen adaptive control strategy is also more energy efficient than a conventional control strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Building Automatic Speech Recognition Systems for Moroccan Dialect: A Phoneme-Based Approach

Building efficient acoustic models for dialects is a major challenge in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems. In this paper, we investigate the Moroccan Fessi dialect speech recognition system based on phoneme modeling. We employed a combined approach, including the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM). Also, the ASR dialect specificity was analysed, including phonemes nature and phonetic inventory. Our results show the best performance was found by using 3 HMM and 4 GMM configurations, achieving an accuracy of 97.33%. Additionally, we observed that the digits containing voiced pharyngeal phonemes, particularly the phoneme /ʕ/, achieved the highest recognition rate, while words containing the phoneme /s/ exhibited multiple substitutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Solving constrained multi-objective optimization problems with evolutionary algorithms has attracted considerable *** constrained multi-objective optimization evolutionary algorithms(CMOEAs)have been developed with the use of different algorithmic strategies,evolutionary operators,and constraint-handling *** performance of CMOEAs may be heavily dependent on the operators used,however,it is usually difficult to select suitable operators for the problem at ***,improving operator selection is promising and necessary for *** work proposes an online operator selection framework assisted by Deep Reinforcement *** dynamics of the population,including convergence,diversity,and feasibility,are regarded as the state;the candidate operators are considered as actions;and the improvement of the population state is treated as the *** using a Q-network to learn a policy to estimate the Q-values of all actions,the proposed approach can adaptively select an operator that maximizes the improvement of the population according to the current state and thereby improve the algorithmic *** framework is embedded into four popular CMOEAs and assessed on 42 benchmark *** experimental results reveal that the proposed Deep Reinforcement Learning-assisted operator selection significantly improves the performance of these CMOEAs and the resulting algorithm obtains better versatility compared to nine state-of-the-art CMOEAs.

Nowadays, multidisciplinary research is found everywhere, especially due to the accelerated development of computer science and information and communication technology in all economic and social fields. In many universities, including the POLITEHNICA University in Bucharest, research as a subject is considered multidisciplinary through case studies and concrete applications. The paper presents a multidisciplinary project implemented under ERA-NET COFOUND, ICT-AGRI-FOOD 2019 Joint Call. This project implies multiple collaborations inside and between different groups: disciplines (computer science-image processing-artificial intelligence-robotics-entomology-agriculture), domains (universities-research-farms), countries, and teams (teachers-researchers-students-farmers). The resulting impact of this collaboration is also multiple: educational, economic, and social. From an educational point of view, the results consisted of course chapters, themes for undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees, and papers in important international conferences or journals made by teams of students, researchers, and professors. © 2023 IEEE.
