The multitude of airborne point clouds limits the point cloud processing *** are grouped based on similar points,which can effectively alleviate the demand for computing resources and improve processing ***,existing superpoint segmentation methods focus only on local geometric structures,resulting in inconsistent spectral features of points within a *** feature inconsistencies degrade the performance of subsequent ***,this study proposes a novel Superpoint Segmentation method that jointly utilizes spatial Geometric and Spectral Information for multispectral point cloud superpoint segmentation(GSI-SS).Specifically,a similarity metric that combines spatial geometry and spectral information is proposed to facilitate the consistency of geometric structures and object attributes within segmented *** the formation of the primary superpoints,an intersuperpoint pointexchange mechanism that maximizes feature consistency within the final superpoints is *** are conducted on two real multispectral point cloud datasets,and the proposed method achieved higher recall,precision,F score,and lower global consistency and feature classification *** experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed GSI-SS over several state-of-the-art methods.

Companies adopt electric cars for their vehicle fleets to be more environmental friendly and sustainable. However, there is a battery degradation over the course of time. Wrong charging behavior can accelerate this process. To improve the battery-lifetime, an intelligent scheduling of the charging processes is necessary. The schedule also needs to take other aspects, like the power grid or planned tours of the cars in consideration, to guarantee their full operability. The paper formulates this scenario as an integer linear problem to compute optimal battery-friendly charging schedules that take into account the various requirements and restrictions of electric vehicle fleets in companies. Results for examples from an application project validate the research. © 2023 IEEE.

Most of the underwater activities are carried out with a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). ROVs are driven by thrusters, and controlling the movement of the ROV underwater is related to continuous regulation of the speed of the electric motors driving its thrusters. This paper presents one variant of ROV propulsion control using a discrete modal state controller. A mathematical description in the state space has been made for one of the most commonly used electric motors. The operation algorithm of the discrete modal state controller to calculate the feedback vector was developed and simulation modeling was done in MATLAB/Simulink. © 2023 IEEE.

Monitoring sugar concentration during fermentation is crucial for producing high-quality alcoholic beverages. Traditional methods for measuring sugar concentration can be costly and time-consuming, especially for small-scale producers. In this study, we developed a low-cost buoyant force measurement device for monitoring sugar concentration in water solutions. The device consists of a buoyant object fully submerged in the solution and connected to a load-cell sensor. As the sugar concentration in the liquid increases, the buoyant force on the object increases, and the load-cell measures this force. Proposed device is calibrated using solutions of known sugar concentrations and its high accuracy and precision is presented. The device is tested in controlled environment to ensure accurate tracking changes in sugar concentration over time. Proposed device can be a valuable tool for small-scale producers looking to optimize their fermentation processes while minimizing costs. © 2023 IEEE.

Health is one of the most precious aspects of every person's life. Whether we're talking about a well-functioning heart, nervous system, respiratory system, or simply body weight, each of these branches contributes to a person's overall health. It is important to monitor certain body functions and characteristics as often as possible so that we can prevent or, in unfortunate situations, treat health problems early. The developed mobile application facilitates the monitoring of heart rate, ideal weight, basal metabolic rate, and body mass index. The data used by the mobile app is collected by the FITBIT smartwatch. Based on the data, heart rate statistics and nutritional calculation results (body mass index, basal metabolic rate, and ideal body weight) are generated according to the user's gender, age, weight, and height. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Due to the direct contact between electrode and scalp, dry EEG electrodes are exposed to increased mechanical wear compared to conventional gel-based electrodes. However, state-of-the-art commercial cap systems commonly use permanently fixated electrodes which can lead to downtime of the EEG cap during professional repair and replacement as well as reduced overall lifetime. An easily replaceable EEG electrode would furthermore improve hygiene, especially for newborn and infant applications. We propose a novel replaceable electrode system, consisting of an electrode holder, a snap top, a contact ring fixated inside the electrode holder, and a replaceable electrode. The production process consists of 3D printing, silicone molding, resin casting, and electroless plating. The replaceable electrode system is integrated into a multichannel EEG cap system. A verification study is conducted with 30 volunteers. The operators experienced that the new electrode holder eases adjustment of the electrode to have proper contact with the scalp. During the study, defective electrodes can be replaced without a soldering process. Furthermore, all electrodes stayed in the holder and did not fall off the cap for the whole session. In conclusion, the novel replaceable electrode system is suitable for EEG measurements. © 2022 The Author(s), published by De Gruyter.

The article discusses the theoretical foundations of the design of a single-channel ultrahigh frequency moisture meter with direct measurement of the moisture content of bulk materials. In accordance with the requirements of the methodology for selecting efficiency criteria, it is necessary to develop structural diagrams of measuring devices. For these purposes, the standard deviation of the random error is determined, characterizing the accuracy. It includes the main components: sensitivity error, zero error and additive component. Mathematical models of structures are constructed and the standard deviation of random errors, which are caused by certain parameters and additive fluctuations, is calculated. A single-parameter ultrahigh-frequency method for determining the moisture content is proposed. This method provides high accuracy of a single-channel ultrahigh frequency moisture meter with direct measurement of the moisture content of bulk materials. The measuring device can be used in the agricultural industry, where humidity is one of the important parameters, starting with harvesting and ending with the release of finished products. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the actual tasks of movement classification based on electromyography is the choice of the most informative set of features characterizing the movements. Increasing the number of features may decrease the learning performance of classifiers and reduce the efficiency of gesture classification. This paper is devoted to study the possibilities of improving the movement's classification efficiency by using the feature space dimensionality reduction methods. Classifiers based on Support Vector Machines (SVM)., Decision Trees (DT)., Random Forest (RF) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) were considered., and Principal Component Analysis method (PCA) was used to dimensionality reduction. 3% improvement in classification performance was achieved using PCA and KNN. © 2024 IEEE.

Target tracking has a wide range of applications in intelligent transportation,real‐time monitoring,human‐computer interaction and other ***,in the tracking process,the target is prone to deformation,occlusion,loss,scale variation,background clutter,illumination variation,etc.,which bring great challenges to realize accurate and real‐time *** based on Siamese networks promotes the application of deep learning in the field of target tracking,ensuring both accuracy and real‐time ***,due to its offline training,it is difficult to deal with the fast motion,serious occlusion,loss and deformation of the target during ***,it is very helpful to improve the performance of the Siamese networks by learning new features of the target quickly and updating the target position in time *** broad learning system(BLS)has a simple network structure,high learning efficiency,and strong feature learning *** at the problems of Siamese networks and the characteristics of BLS,a target tracking method based on BLS is *** method combines offline training with fast online learning of new features,which not only adopts the powerful feature representation ability of deep learning,but also skillfully uses the BLS for re‐learning and re‐*** broad re‐learning information is used for re‐detection when the target tracking appears serious occlusion and so on,so as to change the selection of the Siamese networks search area,solve the problem that the search range cannot meet the fast motion of the target,and improve the *** results show that the proposed method achieves good results on three challenging datasets and improves the performance of the basic algorithm in difficult scenarios.
